Chapter 1 - Summons

A perfect couple is in view. A young man with black hair, dark hazel eyes and a tall stature, he is holding the hand of a young woman, she has light brown hair, light brown eyes and a perfect face.

Like a scene from a movie, they walk on the sidewalk illuminated by the street lights.

It looks like they are high schoolers, how odd it is for them to be out this late.

~BING BONG!!~

The sound of the automatic door sliding opening wakes Ahvi up from his daydream. The man in front of him had bought what he wanted and left. Ahvi, now the only person in the line, approached the cashier.

"I think this is all." Ahvi puts the instant ramen, bottle of whisky and an adult magazine on the counter. The cashier gives him a look of disgust. But before the cashier could start scanning the items Ahvi pats his pockets and pulls out his wallet.

"OH! Can I get some menthols too?" Ahvi puts his ID and a twenty dollar and ten dollar bill on the counter next to his things.

The cashier pauses and stares at Ahvi with disappointment in his eyes. The cashier then turns around and grabs a green pack of cigarettes out of the cabinet behind him.

Ahvi looks back out the window to his left. He can see the kids from earlier walking away in the distance. He sees the girl laughing and boy looking down at her.

The cashier turns back around, scans the cigarettes, then he puts them in a plastic bag he got from below the counter. He then does this with the rest of Ahvi's things.

The cashier picks Ahvi's ID up and stares at it for a moment. "Twenty-six dollars and thirty-three cents, your change will be three dollars and sixty-seven cents." He gives Ahvi's ID back and hands him the plastic bag. He then reaches into the cash register for the change. "You can keep the change and I don't need the receipt."

Ahvi grabs his ID and puts it back into his wallet. Ahvi then walks out to the front of the store.

He pulls out the cigarettes and he starts to smack it on both ends 6-8 times. He peels the plastic wrap off and drops it on the ground. Avi lets out a small exhale and then he mumbled something. "Hmh, littering. Why should I care about a world that wants to kill me." He subconsciously spoke what was on his mind.

A red lighter comes out of his pocket. He lights a cigarette and takes a deep breath. With another puff of his cigarette, Ahvi looks at the source of light that is above him. A full moon. The sky is clear of any clouds.

Ahvi starts to walk back to his apartment. His apartment is small and cheap but some how he makes it look nice.

"Help! Help! Someone help me!!"

The blood curdling scream of a woman can be heard to Ahvi's left. In an alley a man is holding a knife to the woman's neck. Avi could see that the woman's pants had been pulled down. The woman's eyes met Ahvi's. This was the school girl and boy from earlier.

"You really shouldn't walk with boys alone at night. What a foolish girl."

Ahvi says this and looks forward to walk away. "If she's meant to be saved she will be saved."

Ahvi begins to frolic away. "Hey!! Stop!!"

A man's yell could be heard from behind Ahvi. There was a hint of anger in the voice. "Hmh. I guess she was meant to be saved." Ahvi says this in a hushed voice. A smile could be seen on Ahvi's face. To know that girl was saved brings joy to him.

"I said stop you bastard!!"

The man's voice was closer to Ahvi than before. Ahvi furrowed his brows and turned his head to look behind him.

"GAHH!" A geyser of blood flowed out of his mouth onto the pavement in front of him. A sharp pain appears in his lower back.

Ahvi was stabbed by the school boy from earlier. While looking back he could see the girl laying on the ground in a puddle of blood.

The boy pulled the knife out from Ahvi's back. Ahvi, out of fear and pain, collapsed on the ground. Ahvi was now on all fours. "So this is what fate planned for me, I never would have imagined…GAHH!!"

The boy plunged the knife through Ahvi's neck. The feeling of drowning consumed Ahvi.Air could not enter his lungs. The only sound that could be heard was Ahvi gargling blood in the effort of breathing.

The boy stared into Ahvi's eyes, he looked like a corpse with how pale he is. Ahvi looked back into his eyes but not intentionally. The only thing Ahvi could see was a blinding light.

When the boy sees the pool of blood reach his feet he backs away slowly. He pauses for a moment and then he runs off in the opposite direction.

Ahvi lays there gasping for air. He can sense the feeling of darkness surrounding him. The feeling of winter snow engulfs him. The light that was so blinding before is now dim.

~GASP~

Fresh air enters Ahvi's lungs. Ahvi opens his eyes to see clouds and what seems to be a golden structure around him. "Heaven?" This is said under his breath.

Ahvi begins to get a bearing of his surroundings. He is in the center of twelve golden pillars. The golden pillars form a circle around Ahvi. The ground he stands on appears to be one huge cloud and in front of him is a staircase made of cloud.

Ahvi hesitatingly takes a step forward. He stares at his feet to see if they fall through. Once he sees that it is safe to move around he realizes that he is not wearing shoes.

In fact he is completely naked. He then remembers what was happening a moment ago. He rushes to check his neck for a wound. See there is no wound he checks his back.

On his back he does not find a wound but he does find something unexpected. "WINGS??!!" On his back is a pair of wings. They are pure white like that of a dove. They are currently folded but they are still gigantic. The highest they reach is just a little above the shoulders and they some how phase through the clouds.

He starts to pet his wings. "I must have became an angel." He says this and then he slowly tilts his head up. There is a golden ring of light spinning above his head. "HALO!" He lets out an exited yell. His hand passes through it when he tries to grab it. He starts to rapidly put his hand through the ring in a waving motion.

Out of curiosity, Ahvi tries to flap his wings. They move but they do not flap. The movement resembles a baby flailing it's arms around. He tries a few dozen times until he gets a single flap.

He does a few more and floats for a short moment, then he lets himself fall back down. While out of breath from his efforts, he looks towards the staircase in front of him. "Well, I guess it's time to meet my maker." Ahvi moves up the staircase of cloud.

The staircase is several stories tall. When he reaches the top he is meet with more clouds. There was nothing but clouds. In the center he could see a protrusion. It was a throne made of clouds. There was someone in the throne facing the opposite direction.

"So, you must be god."

"I am a god but I am not the one you are thinking of." The voice that said this was that of a woman's. "I'm Rast, the goddess of thunder, and the queen god of Montla. Unfortunately I am not the god that governs the world you came from. If I remember correctly your god is one of the. . . . duller ones. Really, he was given that world of pity. It's a miracle he didn't destroy it." All of this is said with her still facing the opposite direction of Ahvi.

"So then… why am I here?" Ahvi's mind begins to drown in cynicism. She obviously wants him to do something.

"There is a nuisance in Montla. A demon king has been born and I want you to kill him."

"You want me to kill a baby?! I am not killing a baby!!"

"No. When I said 'born' I meant it in metaphorical way. This demon king is no child. As of right now he is one of the strongest beings on Montla."

Ahvi's face grows red from embarrassment.

"Why don't you just do it yourself?"

"Us gods cannot enact our wills directly, the most we can do is give blessings and act through the forces of nature. But blessing a mortal and causing storms are gambles. Thus we have the ability to summon a hero from another world. Of course the summoning is random, so don't think that you're special or that I have some sort of interest in you. Once the hero has accomplished their task the god that summoned them will grant one wish that the hero may have. Oh, and please don't wish to be a god, it's not gonna happen."

"Why are the gods so limited with their power?"

~SIGH~

"You're starting to bore me with these useless questions. I will be sending you to a kingdom that is in need of help. While you're down there I will not be able to help you in any way, so please do not act too outrageously, and do be wary of the lesser gods, they are not as constricted with their power like I am."

A ring of golden light circles around Ahvi's feet. The ring is comprised of runes. Ahvi could senses a form of power emanating from these runes.

A wall of golden light rises from the ground and it forms a cylinder shape. The wall was some what translucent at its top. A sense of numbness makes its way up Ahvi's body.

"I do wish you good luck, but I think the people of Montla will need it more."

The goddess spins herself and the chair she is sat in to face Ahvi. Barely anything of Ahvi could be seen. The only things that could be seen was Ahvi's head, the halo above it and part of the wings on his back.

"DID I JUST SEE WINGS?! AND WHAT WAS THAT ABOVE HIS HEAD??!!" Ahvi had already vanished when she yelled this out.

The face of the goddess was in shock. The goddess held the beauty of a young girl and the body of a nice looking woman. Her hair is a deep red with dark red eyes to match. She wears a pure white dress with gold at the seams. The goddess Rast's beauty knows no bounds.

Still in shock she yells out a thought that cannot escape her mind.

"WHO THE HELL DID I JUST SUMMON??!!"
