Chapter 153 - Deceit

(In case you skipped the previous chapter, Soryn [Kyle] and Sirius [Leighton] entered the club, checked their blasters at the door, and each had a drink. The rest of Alpha team is actively breaching and clearing the Southern control center.)

There were two guards standing next to the door we were moving towards. Both were wearing full body armor and were holding blaster rifles.

I walked over, Sirius trailing behind me. One of the guards stepped forward and held his hand up. "This room is off limits."

A shout came from behind. "YEAH! FUCK OFF! THE BOSS IS IN THERE!"

I spun around and found a knife flying towards my face. With a casual raise of my hand, I stopped the knife with the force less than an inch from my face.

Within a second, the music stopped and everyone in the club froze. Their eyes were locked on the floating knife. Several of them started to quietly move towards the exit.

I released the knife and let it fall to the ground. The sound of the metal hitting the stone bricks rang through the deathly silence.

My eyes locked onto the man who threw the knife. It was time to put on a show.

I reached out with my right hand as if I was grabbing for something. I squeezed with the force and raised my hand into the air.

The man started gasping for air as he desperately grabbed at his neck. He was now floating off the ground.

I pulled my hand in. He started floating towards me. I stopped him a few yards away.

I scrutinized him. His stench entered my nose. It was vile. I scrunched my nose and scowled. "Disgusting."

I squeezed my hand into a fist. There was a cracking sound as the man's body went limp. I dropped my hand and the body fell to the ground.

Then, I turned around as I heard the door to the room slide open. There were six individuals visible through the doorway. The one that opened the door was a man that was about the same height as me. He was a bit heavier than me and had that blond hair blue eye combo. His hair was parted in the middle. He wore mostly black with plates of body armor.

Behind him was a semi-circular couch with a table in front of it. On the table were a few bottles of liquor. On the couch were three gorgeous Twi'leki women, a pale human male, and a beautiful human female.

The pale human male had an unnerving presence. He had red hair that was trimmed close to his scalp. His Fu Manchu was quite out of place on his pale skin. His eyes were a light brown with large streaks of yellow.

The woman was petite but powerful. The Twi'leki woman on her lap was fawning over her as if it was the climax of her life. Her wavy brown hair stopped just below her shoulders and her hazel eyes had not even a hint of yellow. Evidently, she had yet to completely lose herself in the dark side.

The man in the doorway looked at Sirius and I inquisitively. "My apologies. We weren't expecting any visitors. I'm Lord Furi and they are Lords Nefarid and Thana."

I raised my brow. "What are you doing here?"

Furi furrowed his brow. "We had finished our inspection and decided to relax for a bit before returning to the capital."

I shook my head and crossed my arms. "It's no wonder the Dark Council sent me to check up on things."

Furi's eyes widened. Nefarid and Thana on the couch behind him sat up in place. "Has the council lost faith in Master Angral?"

Upon hearing that name, a barely noticeable shiver passed through my body. Darth Angral held a seat on the Dark Council. He was capable of killing me and my padawan with both hands tied behind his back.

I shook my head after that hesitation which was quite unlike me. "No, nothing like that. This deal is very important. I was sent with my apprentice to ensure that there would be no delays."

Furi narrowed his eyes. "I see… You came alone?"

As he said this, a beep came through my earpiece. "General, we're done here."

I nodded as I felt Furi's suspicion. Hopefully he didn't notice my hesitation. "Yes, we did. We are merely backup."

Furi nodded. "Very well. I will need to report this to my master. Who shall I tell him has arrived on world?"

I maintained my black expression. "Darth Or-"

Before I could finish, Furi grabbed his lightsaber from his belt and ignited it. A flash of yellow showed through his eyes. "You're no Sith, Jedi."

The two on the couch pushed the women off of them and stood up. Thana's eyes locked on my padawan. "I'll take the kid."

Nefarid smiled and stepped forwards, standing next to Furi. "You're no match for him alone, Furi."

I took a few steps back and pulled my lightsabers into my hands. I pressed the base of the hilts together and twisted to lock them together. Then, I ignited them.

Furi's eyes widened as he noticed the color of my lightsabers. "Soryn Brenko…"

Thana and Nefarid took their lightsaber and ignited them as well. She stepped up and positioned herself next to Furi.

The other patrons stepped back as far as they could, standing against the walls. None of them could hope to keep their lives if they got in the way.

I slid my left foot forward and bent my knees. Then I pointed my left blade at Furi. "Let's dance."
