Chapter 33 - The Force Awakens

(Yeah, I did that, fuck off. Also, I forgot to do a quest for this mission. I put it in the old chapter but it's also pasted below. Also, he is level 10 right now. More stuff regarding levels will come into play following either this arc or the next one. Whichever it fits best into.

[Quest Received]

[Saving the Royal Family - I]

[Epic Chain Quest]

[Jedi General Satele Shan has designated you as the leader of an operation to infiltrate Aldera and rescue Alderaan's royal family from the Empire. This is Part One of the chain quest and the objective is to infiltrate the capital and secure a base of operations.]

Enjoy the chapter!)

The Sith paused as they approached me, their lightsaber in hand. "You? My opponent? Do you even know how to hold that thing?"

I glanced down and realized how dumb I looked. I was holding it in two hands in front of me and was not in any sort of athletic stance.

In an attempt to recover from that humiliation, I nodded. "Yeah, try me, bitch."

They tilted their head downwards. Then, they lifted their arm, reaching for their mask. They pulled it off of their face, revealing a maddened maiden.

In the words of Shakespeare, she looked like she finna rip your dick off if you looked at her wrong.

She smirked. "This should be fun. Haven't gotten the chance to bully anyone in a bit."

I laughed. "Why's that? Too busy calling Valent daddy?"

Her expression immediately twisted into rage. "I'LL RIP YOU TO SHREDS!"

Her lightsaber ignited as she exploded towards me. I felt some kind of energy warping around her as she approached. It was dark and cold, trying to suck the life out of me.

I raised my saber. "Oh, no you don't."

I met her charge with a violently strong swing. It had all of my strength behind it.

*BM*

Her lightsaber bounced off of mine as she stumbled backwards. I quickly looked down at my hands, shocked at the power that was coursing through me. I was then able to feel two gazes piercing through me.

My head snapped in their direction. I found the Jedi and Sith that were dueling separated and observing me. While Satele wore a concerned expression, Valent looked like he was in euphoria.

Valent clapped his hands. "How wonderful! A new toy! I think I might take you as an apprentice after I finish my master's training!"

Satele scoffed. "Don't even think about it." She then charged back forward, initiating the continuation of their duel.

I shifted my gaze back towards the Sith standing opposite me. She truly looked as if she wanted to cut me down with extreme prejudice.

Shaking my head, I shifted my stance to have my left foot forwards. I then twirled my lightsaber in my hand like Kenobi, before falling into his signature stance.

Aside from knowing how to do the twirl, which any hardcore Star Wars fan should know, I felt that this stance would actually give me some benefits here. With the lightsaber raised above my head, it would allow me to open with a maximum strength strike when the duel began.

I bore down on her with my eyes, piercing through her irises. "COME!"

Her face twisted into a sinister grin as she exploded forwards with extreme speed. She swung her lightsaber around like a windmill, readying an overhead strike.

Shit. How was I supposed to counter that? It was coming straight at me! I don't know how to do this shit!

Suddenly, my instincts kicked in. Newton's Third Law flew through my head as I felt the comfort of physics wash over me. I mumbled. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction."

My body began to move on its own as my lightsaber twisted, moving into the trajectory of a diagonal strike. A wave of crimson followed my saber as it swung down from above my right shoulder towards my left foot.

*PINK*

Two lightsabers clashed, the Sith's being knocked away from me but remaining within her tight grasp. I had two hands on my lightsaber at this point, so I quickly pulled my lightsaber back, attempting to land a backhanded strike.

*PINK*

She had pulled her lightsaber back up just in time as she took a retreating step and swung the saber across. My lightsaber was deflected away from her.

Now on the front foot, I pushed forth, laying down a barrage of unkempt strikes. Each one contained a great power and was filled with aggression.

Fueled by my instincts, I kept going. Something was guiding me through this experience. It was something I didn't understand and couldn't describe. At some points, it felt like a gentle pull that was guiding me to dodge in a certain direction or to swing my lightsaber towards a certain spot. At other points, it felt as if it was augmenting my strength, providing me with unfathomable power.

The most shocking instances were when it sounded like an alarm, drawing my attention to unavoidable danger. This happened a few times throughout the duel.

*PINK* *PINK* *PINK*

The duel had been pretty even thus far. I was extremely shocked. Was I a natural talent or was I just extremely lucky? I had played VR sword fighting games before, but that was many years ago. Somehow, I felt that this strange guidance was restoring the skills I developed through various games such as Blade & Sorcery: Invasion, Chivalry III, and Ironhide: The Reckoning.

Once again, I felt the alarm blaring in my mind. Without turning my body, my eyes shot towards the source of the danger.

The world around me slowed down to a near halt. In my peripheral vision, I watched a grenade detonate. A gentle flash of light sped past me before flames burst out from the grenade at a blisteringly slow speed. It was like watching paint dry.

It was then that I noticed the source of the danger as I realized that the grenade posed no danger to me. I saw a blaster bolt heading straight towards my head from the side. One of the Imperial troopers managed to sneak in a shot at me amidst the intense fight between the remnants of their scouting team and ours.

The blaster bolt was just several meters out from me when I noticed it. Fortunately this hyper-sensitive state overtook me. Otherwise, I would have died without even knowing how.

In this state, I wasn't some speedster, but my reactions were unbelievable fast from an outsider's perspective. My body moved like a well oiled machine.

I raised my lightsaber, letting loose a controlled swing across the trajectory of the laser. At the same time, I took a large step backwards in order to put some distance between the Sith and myself.

*BING* *PUM*

The blaster bolt bounced off of my crimson sword before scorching the ground next to me. As soon as the blaster bolt hit the ground, time regained its typical pace.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The Sith before me leapt forwards, quickly closing the gap I had created while roaring with extreme rage.

Her lightsaber blurred through the air above her head as it came crashing down towards me. I reacted with extreme haste, raising my lightsaber horizontally to defend against this attack.

*PINK* *CHhCchCH*

Our lightsabers locked together as I felt an extreme force pressed down on me. I nearly fell backwards as I went down to one knee, putting every ounce of strength within me into holding back a quick death.

Yielding here would undoubtedly spell my end and result in the failure of this mission. The Sith would tip the scales of Satele's duel that was currently balanced and then hunt down the remainder of my team.

I tried my best, pushing back as hard as I could. This time, I wasn't going to be so lucky. Her lightsaber kept inching closer and closer to me as she steadily pressed her superior strength against mine.

Feelings of dread and despair started sneaking out from my subconscious. The hope I held was slowly eroded, dwindling like a dying flame in the wind. Her maniacal grin grew wider as the pleasure of my fear washed over her.

I was scared. I didn't know what to do. Then… it came. The memories I had been repressing were pulled out. A feeling of absolution accompanied them and it screamed one thing: my fate was sealed.
