Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

'I can't believe that we're in the same club... And I don't know why I'm a bit agitated by his presence.'

Ran thought with a poker face but violet eyes filled with annoyance as she walked down the corridor, heading to her last class in the morning alone while Kyung-Mi went separate ways because she had an errand to do for a teacher. Again.

She was about to climb the stairs when someone called out to her, and she stopped and turned her head to see who it was.

"Ran-senpai! Here." The grey haired boy smiles as he hands a bag full of food to her, which makes her eyebrows furrow slightly at his sudden actions. She took it gently with both hands, looking up at him with an inquiring gaze.

"I bumped into Kyung-Mi senpai when I left the library and told me to give this to you if I see you. I was actually planning to give it to you during lunch time in the club, but since I saw you here, I'm just gonna give it to you." He smiled while Ran just stared at the bag with a blank stare.

"I see, thank you." Ran thank before resuming her walk and walking past him while his green eyes just watched her.

"Ah, Yutaka-kun. It's Masami, not Ran." The grey haired boy flinches a little at hehr sharp gaze but still manages to give a nod.

"Y-Yes... I-I'm sorry." Ran didn't say anything and just turned around and resumed her walk. Yutaka just watches as Ran disappears in the corner. She didn't even greet him or give a proper response and just ignored him.

"She's a senpai yet she's acting a bit rude." The grey haired boy murmured with a small pout before turning around and running full speed when he heard the school chime go off.

Class' over and it was dark outside, yet Ran never heard anything from her brunette friend. Not a word, not a single voice, nothing at all. It was like they have no connection at all, and she knows why, but just kept quiet, still unsure if she's right.

"Hello." Ran greet as she went inside the dog daycare. She stood still in her place and blink her eyes a couple times at the scene before her.

"What are you doing?" Ran asked with a stoic face as she saw her dog and the grey haired boy playing with each other.

"Ah! Ran-Masami-senpai! Hello." The grey haired boy looks up at her and smiles while her furry friend keeps licking his face.

"That doesn't answer my question." Ran said without blinking any time. The grey haired boy let out a chuckle while the dog continued to lick his face before speaking.

"I'm here to pick up my dog and go home right after, but then I see this lonely adorable dog." The grey haired boy gestured to her pet with his index finger and then gestured back to himself.

"And you're planning on playing with him until his owner arrives?" The pink hair asks and he just nods his head.

"But since here you are, I'll go now." He smiled before turning to her friend again and giving him a scratch behind his ear.

"Bye, bye~!" With that, he turned on his heel and walked away and Ran watched with a bored expression as he left.

"Wait." The grey haired boy halted in his tracks and turned around and watched as Ran rummaged through her backpack.

"What's that..." Tilting his head to the side, he asks.

"Just a little gift since you joined the club and played with Kouji. Take it." Ran said as she handed him a small white box which he accepted with a small thank and a genuine smile.

"Woah, thank you, senpai!" He exclaimed, giving a bow before walking off with his own dog who barked at her once before leaving her sight.

Ran only shaking her head while smiling slightly, somewhat happy for an unknown reason. After taking his leave, Ran sighed and went to talk to the caretaker before going home with her labrador furry friend.
