"Y-yes, Sir. Is something wrong?"
Gabby looked nervous at the slightly negative response. Just look at Gerry's gaze as if he couldn't believe that Gabby was his secretary.
'Am I really that bad that he doesn't believe I'm his secretary?' Gabby grumbled to herself, not taking her eyes off Gerry.
"Oh God ... is there no other employee who can be my secretary besides her?" Gerry groaned in frustration as he ruffled his hair roughly, then turned around for a moment. Didn't care at all about Gabby's feelings who might be offended by his words.
"What's wrong with me? Am I that bad in your eyes, Sir?"
Disapproved of Gerry's attitude which seemed to be condescending to her, Gabby immediately protested to her boss.
'It's really annoying. Don't I have any authority at all to be a secretary to the CEO, that he said so hurting my heart?' Rainey grumbled inwardly.
Gerry was silent. Not out of guilt, but rather that he was observing Rainey's appearance from top to bottom, then back up again very closely.
"Her appearance alone has proven that she has no authority at all to be my secretary. I'm a CEO, how could I have a secretary like her?" Gerry muttered without taking his cynical gaze from Gabby's direction.
I don't know what he saw until he looked negatively at Gabby's current appearance, even indirectly he had done body shaming against the woman. Even though Gabby's current physical appearance is very neat with a tall, slender body like a top model. It's just that her clothes do look simple, but it still doesn't fade her charm as a beautiful woman.
Even though Gerry's voice was very low, Gabby could still hear the man's words. Gerry's words sounded like an insult to her. So far, she has never been insulted like that during her time as secretary to the previous CEO, namely Mr. Ardhan who is none other than the biological father of Gerry, the owner of the company. However, why this time got humiliated before the man knew how she had been doing all this time.
"It's only natural that many people are insecure in this world, it turns out that big people like you can so easily judge someone's appearance," said Gabby, who couldn't stand Gerry's attitude anymore.
Gerrry managed to be astonished. He didn't expect Gabby to be so brave with him, even though he was the leader of the company. He was increasingly convinced that the woman in front of him really had a low value. Just look at how that woman behaves. Very no manners.
"How dare you say that to me!" said Gerry, widening his eyes, but it didn't frighten Gabby at all.
The woman seemed really fed up with Gerry's attitude. In fact, she no longer cared about the man's position in this company. She felt that she should not remain silent when her pride was trampled on like that and it was only natural that she tried to defend herself. If she let a boss act arbitrarily to his employees, then what will this company be like?
"You may judge me badly, but at least you know how I perform. If you really have a problem with having a secretary who doesn't have the same values as me, please find someone else. Don't you have full power in this company?"
The lengthy statement that came from Gabby's mouth completely stunned Garry and left him speechless. In addition to feeling unsure of Gabby's courage, he also felt slapped by the woman's words. This is the first time a woman has dared to refute it and it is truly extraordinary. In fact, the woman is not afraid if her position in this company is threatened.
"Excuse me, I will await your decision, Sir!" Gabby said goodbye as she left the place, before Gerry managed to respond. She thought she was no longer needed and chose to leave immediately.
"Hey, I'm not done talking yet!" called Gerry who managed to stop his steps for a moment.
"I still have a lot of work to do before you replace me with someone else!" said Gabby, looking back, then a bitter smile on her face.
Without waiting for a response from Gerry, she stepped back from the room until she disappeared behind the door. Gerry's call for the second time was ignored.
"How dare she!" Gerry growled, staring at the door to his room, which had just been closed with a strong thud.
The man seemed to be standing with his hands on his hips. His gaze is cynical. Instantly he groaned in frustration as he looked away in any direction, a sign that he was fed up with Gabby's words that slapped him and made him unable to move. Only this time he was made speechless by a woman who was very simple and clearly not on his level. It's sickening.
Meanwhile, Gabby, who had just come out of the CEO's room, didn't seem to stop cursing her boss. She had really been infuriated by Gerry's arrogance. This is the first time she has dared to go against her own boss, even though before she had always respected seniors at work, regardless of whether the person was the leader of the company or not. However, this time it was completely beyond her expectations. She did not understand why she could say that to Gerry.
She only felt that her new boss had overestimated and treated her. Even though she only made a less fatal mistake the first time. I do not know what misfortune will befall her after this. In fact, she didn't even care once the new boss fired her. She thought that leaving the company would be much better than continuing to live in a toxic environment that could damage her mental state. Yes, how could she possibly be okay with having an arrogant co-worker like Gerry. Too bossy!
"He thinks if he treats me like that, I'll just bow down to him? No! Not at all. I can find another job if it's not needed in this company. How dare he lower my self-esteem. He doesn't know how my performance so far, but have judged me arbitrarily. How annoying!" Gabby grumbled as she walked into the room not far from the CEO's office.
"Huh!" The woman seemed to take a deep breath, then landed her body on the chair that she had been proud of all this time.
"Oh my God ... what other calamity will befall me after this!" Gabby moaned as she wiped her face with her hand. A moment later she bent her hands on the table, then looked down languidly and supported her forehead with her hands.
There was a clear look of confusion on her face. She really didn't want to lose the job. However, after what she did a few minutes ago to Gerry, it looks like she has to prepare mentally from now on before the boss actually fires her. Yes, she was sure that Gerry would make that decision in a few minutes.
It was hard to leave the job she had been in for the past two years, but what could she do. Everything has already happened. Should she regret her blindness? Not. She thought that people like Gerry should be taught a little lesson in order to be more appreciative of those under her.
"Drink this!"
