Chereads / Oh, My Gerry / Chapter 9 - YOUR SECRETARY

Chapter 9 - YOUR SECRETARY

David could only take a short breath, then shook his head at his cousin's bossy behavior. There wasn't much he could do but obey and agree. It's also useless trying to persuade Gerry. It will only end in vain.

He then turned to Gabby who was still standing beside him with her head down. He stared sadly at the woman he had admired for a long time.

Yes, it is true. From the start David had liked Gabby. Apart from having a beautiful face and attractive appearance, Gabby is also very intelligent and hardworking. The figure of a woman who is very cheerful, kind, friendly, and sociable.

For David, Gabby was not a perfect woman, but almost. What man wouldn't be attracted to her, much less her, except for Gerry. Possible.

Ah, could it be that Gerry is not a normal man or his taste in women is too high? Even though Gabby doesn't seem to have the slightest flaw. However, it still doesn't seem to have caught Gerry's attention in the slightest. Even though Gabby had time to admire Gerry because of what happened yesterday when the man helped her.

Ah no. Not only because that's the reason, but because Gerry's face also has an above average level of good looks. Anyone would be stunned to see it. Not to mention that the man's gaze was so stunning, that any woman would be instantly hypnotized by him, and Gabby was no exception.

It's just that because of what happened after pretending to be Gerry's lover, Gabby's admiration suddenly turned ill. Unfortunately, she actually met in one job. Being a co-worker with an arrogant man like Gerry, seemed like it would be a very bad experience for the rest of her life.

Gabby didn't think that the person who managed to make her feel bad was actually her own boss. It really sucks. Why is the world so small. Isn't there anyone far better than Gerry who deserves to be her boss? Just because of a trivial mistake, she had been made to die like that. What if one day she made another mistake that was much bigger than now, her history was over. Maybe Gerry would make her forget how to breathe.

Silence suddenly dominated the room. David still looked pityingly at Gabby, even with Gerry who also did the same. It's just that Gerry's gaze doesn't only focus on Gabby, but also on David. He looked at the pair of people in front of his alternately. He hoped David would leave his room soon, so he could resume his activities with Gabby.

Realizing this, Gabby immediately looked up, looked at Gerry who was throwing a blazing glare at her, then she turned to David. A faint smile appeared on her face, as if to show that she was fine.

"Master, let me settle my matter with Mr. Gerry." Gabby bowed slightly, a sign of respect.

Gerry immediately raised an eyebrow, admiring the courage of the woman standing in front of him. Who would have thought that Gabby didn't make David's presence a place to take refuge.

David sighed again. There is no other choice. Looks like he really should go and stop defending Gabby. Because whatever he did to her, it wouldn't matter to Gerry. Given that Gerry is not a man who gives up easily, before succeeding in his goals.

Gabby took a deep breath and then let it out slowly. Trying to neutralize the feelings of nervousness and fear that had been attacking her. Now he was alone with Gerry. They faced each other and exchanged glances that were difficult to interpret.

"I know my mistake was so big. Therefore I apologize for the mistakes I have made. I promise I will not repeat the same mistakes in the future and will be more disciplined," said Gabby at length. She was forced to lower her self-esteem by admitting a mistake not much greater than what she had just said.

"Good!" Gerry adjusted his sitting position to be upright. He said it quite loudly and very enthusiastically, as if he really cared about Gabby's admittance.

"I'll keep your word. If one day you make the same or perhaps more fatal mistake than your current one, you know the consequences, don't you?" Gerry indirectly gave threats and warnings to Gabby.

"Yes, of course, Sir. I'll do my job according to the company's rules," Gabby replied and nodded slowly.

Gerry didn't respond. He was actually cold. Even until this moment he still hadn't asked Gabby to sit down or leave the room. He actually looks busy alone with his eyes focused on the computer screen in front of him.

Silence immediately dominates. Gabby became embarrassed to be in the room when Gerry didn't even talk to her. She was confused about what to do. She wanted it to feel good to immediately leave the room. However, her lips were as if they were numb and couldn't say anything. She couldn't stay in the room all the time either, if Gerry ignored her.

'What should I do now? Why hasn't he spoken yet?' mumbled Gabby as she moved her legs for a moment which were already sore, from just standing up.

"Sir, may I go now?" Gabby ventured to ask, after a moment of silence.

"What's your name?"

Not an answer, just a question that came out of Gerry's mouth. It suddenly made Gabby a little annoyed, why not just ask earlier, if there are still things to ask? That's what Gabby thought.

Gerry asked with his eyes still focused on the computer screen in front of him.

"Gabby, Sir." Gabby replied curtly.

"What do you work for in this company?" asked Gerry again which managed to make Gabby instantly dig her eyebrows.

'Does he really not know that I work as his secretary in this company?' mumbled Gabby again a little surprised.

"I-I ... I as your secretary, Sir." Gabby replied a little nervously.

Hearing that answer, Gerry immediately stopped his activities. He looked stunned for a moment, then turned to Gabby, giving him a disapproving look.

"What did you say?" asked Gerry again as if he wanted to reaffirm what he had just heard.

With doubts that invaded her even more, Gabby repeated the same words. However Gerry should know that she is a secretary to the CEO of the company. Even though it would make Gerry a little disappointed, maybe, whatever the consequences she had to tell the truth.

How could they work so well together, if Gerry didn't know who the secretary was, Gabby thought.

"What? You as a secretary? My secretary?" Gerry widened his eyes as if in shock at what he had just heard.
