"Are you awake?" I whispered in William's ear, and he finally opened his eyes. William stared at me in shock, then his lips moved. A tear fell from the corner of his eye, and I immediately squeezed his hand.
"It's me!"
"Annie?" William tried to sit up on his elbow, but his injuries didn't allow him to do so. I stroked his forehead with one hand and told him.
"I'm Isrena!"
"Isrena?" He repeated the name with a frown. He tried to remember something but finally said in frustration.
"Why do I feel she's familiar but can't remember?"
"Because you haven't re-established a fate connection with me, but that's okay. You'll remember everything from the past soon!" I raised the crescent-shaped wrist in front of him. "Look, this is the connection between us. You also have a crescent-shaped mark on your hand!"
