His lips touched mine as I was about to say no to William. It was like two thin cicada wings covering my lips, almost imperceptibly so. But I did not say no in the first place, and because of that, the kiss began to grow heavier, his lips slowly and gently rubbing against mine. Then, I felt William lift my chin with his fingers.
"William, don't!" My rationality finally overcame my emotions. Just as William wanted to take it further, I gently pushed him away.
"I'm sorry!" William looked at me apologetically. "I should have asked your permission first, but I couldn't control my feelings for you!"
"Leave me alone for a while!" My head was still dizzy. Was it because of the kiss? A burning sensation spread in my ears. 'Gosh! William can't see me like this!'
"You have three minutes!" William said. "The army is ready to go!"
