Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 - Team Lezlo

Raina let out a whistle at the image playing in her mind.

"She swallowed the orb and instantly she said she felt her body heating up rapidly. Her body trembled violently and she just started screaming and spasming in pain. After that, she exploded, her organs exploding out as that orb. Your orb, sat in the middle of the mess." Lezlo recounted.

Raina couldn't stop a snicker from escaping her lips as she brought her hand to her mouth, "Wow. I'm so sorry for your loss."

Lezlo let out a sigh as he rolled his eyes at the blatant sarcasm, "Now you know. So. Does that change your mind in any way? I still possess that ability of yours and I know you want it back."

"Fine, then. I'll do it." Raina shrugged her shoulder, "I'll be your lackey. So, what's your first order… Boss?"

Lezlo revealed a smile as he stood up, "Tomorrow morning. Come to room 1000. I'll let you know then." He headed back out towards the door before stopping and reaching into his pocket, "I'll be waiting." He flicked out the purple orb sitting in his hand.

Without even thinking, Raina's hair darted forward, inches from his fingers as it suddenly stopped dead in its track, blocked by some mysterious force.

"Don't even think about it," Lezlo said as he twirled his fingers, the invisible strength pushing her hair back as he put away the orb once again and strolled out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Raina clicked her tongue as she shrugged her shoulders in defeat. She didn't expect it to work anyway, but an attempt was an attempt.

With nothing to do, but to get a good night's rest, Raina hopped onto her bed as she let out a yawn. There was still one more person to meet before the morning sun rose.

Raina opened her eyes, the all too familiar white void encasing her in every direction.

"Solon!" She called out as she plopped herself on a small, basic, wooden chair.

"Raina! You're finally asleep!" Solon's voice called back as he suddenly manifested into her dream. His short black hair rested messily above his head as he tumbled in all ragged and dirty.

"What the hell happened to you? Raina bounced up and hurried over, she clicked her fingers as his appearance reverted to his usual pristine and boyish look.

"All the people around you seem to want me six feet under. Might be because of my deadly good looks," He joked, sarcastically swaying his head to the side like a diva.

"… Did you experiment with drugs or something…" Raina cringed, taking a step back, "Anyway, who attacked you?"

"Your Mr. Wilson, and the twins. On two different occasions." Solon manifested a cup of tea and a nice park scenery, making himself home.

"I can imagine Richard attacking you, but the twins?" Raina frowned, "How'd you come into contact with Vera and Ivanna?"

"The Resistance seems to be counterattacking The Rift for Argo's territory. I traveled through there to talk to your dear husband and they ambushed me." Solon explains, "Oh, and don't worry. I didn't hurt them too badly,"

He raised his hand in self-defense, giving a cheeky smile to Raina before sipping the rest of the tea.

Raina rubbed the bridge of her nose with a sigh, "They're coming too close to all of this fighting. I wanted them to be safe and protected in the Resistance, not actively risking their lives,"

"Well, they are your sisters. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," Solon noted, glancing at her, "Mm. Speaking of. How are you coping there? Everything all good?"

"So far." Raina nodded with a weary smile.

"Good. I've talked to Richard about your situation. Unfortunately, his territory is at risk of being raided by The Resistance so everyone there's on high alert. He's going to be stuck there for a good chunk of time for now. I haven't notified anyone from our group of your situation yet, but if the situation gets any more dire. Just let me know and I'll call a meeting for you."

Raina nodded with a smile, "Thank you." She murmured, "Thank you so much."

The peaceful greenery of the park faded as the empty white void once again took its place,

"There's no need to thank me. I'm just looking out for a friend. It's what I'm here for." He walked over and lightly fist-bumped her shoulder, "I'll see you tomorrow night then."

Solon gave a small wave as he suddenly disappeared.

Finally, alone in her dream, Raina clicked her fingers. The scene flickered. The world shifted as walls formed around her. Before her was the all too familiar room of the musk of testosterone and hormones. The scent which she had sought out and reached the pinnacle of ecstasy from. However, now. Without the identity that had brought her salvation within this wicked and cruel world, all that ran through her was an empty void of nothingness. Around her, the sounds of moans and grunts echoed into her ear and out the other.

The craving which once riddled her body, yearning and lusting for more had been dug out like a deep trench in an open plain. Nothing replacing it, nothing to disguise it.

Just a deep dark void that felt so empty and so alien, and there was nothing more Raina wanted to do than catch that high once more. To feel that pleasure that soared through every atom in her body; even for a second more.
