“Woah, woah, woah, Gloria, she isn’t a threat,” Cade clamored.
“And who is Gloria?!” Fiona interrogated Cade at the sight of an older woman in his condo.
Cade gestured to the cleaning cart resting next to Gloria, the elderly cleaning lady for the condominium complex. “She’s a cleaner, but she’s pretty overprotective of me,” Cade then whispered in Fiona’s ear so that only she could hear him. “I remind her of her son who passed away, so she can be a bit aggressive with strangers.”
Fiona glanced at Gloria, noticing she was indeed a bit not right in the mind, and Cade declared, “Gloria, I think the room’s pretty clean. After all, I just moved in.”
Gloria nodded, scowling at Fiona as she backed out the front entryway. Cade and Fiona m ade their way over to his couch.
