Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

Seen the twinkling lights from a distance, Teo is very lucky because tonight is not cloudy so the city can be seen clearly from the highlands.

Likewise with the stars, they shine emitting light plus the light of the full moon adds to the beauty of the night sky.

Amel really enjoyed the atmosphere. "Thank goodness he likes it," Teo said in his heart. Because if Amel doesn't like him, it's going to be a hassle, he's far away and he'll ask to go home.

"Do you come here often?" Amel asked.

"Well, it's okay if you want to enjoy the atmosphere of the cave here," Teo replied.

He used to frequent this place when he missed the missing Val, usually he came alone or accompanied by Lee just to chat or see the surrounding scenery.

"It's crazy to be able to see the city from here, it's really cool," Amel said enthusiastically when he saw the beauty of the city that night.

The two of them were on the second floor balcony of the cafe overlooking the city. The cafe has a unique interior like a tree house, there are indoor and outdoor rooms.

On the lower floor there is a fairly large garden that can accommodate about 20 people, usually on weekends in the park many people hang out with lesehans because there are no chairs.

The garden is made of synthetic grass with cushions as a seat. Above it is a long yellow light that adorns it.

Teo saw Amel's eyes sparkling, he seemed very amazed by the beauty of the city that night.

"You see that," Point Teo towards the sky.

"Star?" Amel asked confused.

"Yes, it's the constellation Sagittarius," Teo replied.

"Then?" Amel asked again.

"Well, the zodiac sign for Sagittarius is the centaur," Teo replied.

"What is a centaur?"

"The centaur is a mythological creature with the head, arms and chest of a human while the body of a horse," Teo replied.

Amel just nodded as if he understood what Teo was explaining, "Back then the sailors before the GPS as it is today, they determined the cardinal directions through the constellations," Teo said giving knowledge to Amel.

"How to?" Amel asked curiously.

"We just need to draw a straight line between the stars to the star then a configuration is formed, for example the constellation Crux which points to the south, if the dry season this constellation is very easy to find," Teo's answer explained, although not in detail.

Amel just looked at him, I don't know what he was thinking when Teo told him about the constellations.

Sometimes we just need someone who can respect us, it doesn't matter that that person understands everything we say. As long as he can hear well then that's enough.

"Do you like that with stars?" Amel asked with his hand supporting his cheek.

Teo looked at Amel then smiled, "Yes, I like it as a star," Teo replied.

"Why?"

"I don't know, I just like that sometimes people are afraid of the night because it's dark but I'm the opposite. Even though behind the dark night we can see the beautiful light of the stars and the moon," Teo replied.

For Teo night has its own philosophy, when people have the darkest times in their lives. There is still light, even if it's a speck that illuminates his life.

Likewise with the night, no matter how dark the night there must be stars and moon shining.

"Besides stars what do you like?" Amel asked curiously.

"Besides, I like the rain," Teo replied.

"Why? Even though it was raining cold,"

"Haha yes, rain is cold, but for me the rain can be a natural hypnotist. It suddenly becomes calm when you see the rain," Teo said.

"But it's the drizzling rain, not the storm," Teo continued to give a disclaimer.

"Yes, I understand," Amelia replied.

"You know, when rainwater hits the ground and gives off a scent, it has a name," Teo said.

"Oh yeah? What's his name," Amel asked because he just found out.

"His name is petrichor," Teo replied.

Teo suddenly remembered a quote from a song from Eurythmics entitled. 'Here comes and rains again.' (1983)

"Here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a memory. Falling on my head like a new emotion," fill in the excerpt of the song.

Which describes how many people feel when it rains, and it is this petrichor scent that is responsible for the emotional feelings of many who smell it.

"How do you know about this from?" Amel asked curiously.

"I read a book," Teo answered simply.

It turns out that it is not mere talk if Teo likes to read books, "That's how you like the book," said Amel surprised because he did not like to read.

"Yep, at the beginning when I was 9 years old, I was reading astronomy books for fun, but I know I'm addicted to reading books and I like to look at celestial objects at night," Teo replied.

Again Teo explained everything without being asked.

"Besides astronomy books, what else do you like to read?" Amel asked because he was increasingly curious about what Teo was reading.

"I like reading anthropology, history especially the history of Greece, Rome and the Middle East for some reason I just love reading it," Teo replied.

"Like I was talking about the centaur, it's a mythological creature from Greece," he continued.

Teo continues to talk about what he liked that night, from telling the story of the 12 missions of Hercules, the origins of the first world war to the history of his own family.

And Amel was very happy to hear Teo talk even though there were some parts he didn't understand, but Teo was happy to explain again.

"My grandfather was not as rich as he is now, he started a business for the first time when he was in college with other uncles," Teo said telling his family.

"Oh yeah? I think the wealth of the Danuarta family comes from your grandfather." Amel said.

"Some of the wealth is from my grandfather, but the one who has raised the company until now is my father and other uncles who helped me," Teo replied.

"Oh, can I ask you one thing?" Amel's permission.

"Can," Teo answered briefly.

"How is your relationship with that girl now?" Suddenly Amel asked about Val.

"I don't know, I'm confused too," Teo replied.

"Why?"

"He suddenly left me and until now I don't know why,"

"Have you tried asking?" Amel asked.

Theo shook his head, "No, I haven't asked anything," say it.

"Are you in love with him?" Amel asked.

Theo smiled, "I don't know either, maybe because he's my first love, it's more memorable for me," Teo replied.

"You're the first to ask, it's my turn to ask," Teo said.

Amelia was silent, "Have you ever dated?" Teo asked curiously.

"No, I've never been in a relationship or anything like that," Amelia replied.

"Why? I thought you changed girlfriends often," Teo said as if he couldn't believe it.

"Your eyes, you see, I don't have a boyfriend yet. My mom is too protective of me," Amelia replied.

"But is there someone you liked first?" Theo asked again.

"There is," Amel replied shyly.

"Who's who," Teo asked enthusiastically to listen to Amel's story.

"Don't be silly," Amel replied because he didn't want to tell her.

"You're cheating yourself, since I was the one talking here and there, you just listened quietly," Teo replied that he did not accept.

Unknowingly that night they both became close to each other.
