Chapter 14 - 14: The ghost at night.

YiMing returned home From a school that night. She had taken the usual route she always did. The street side.

The street-side was mostly not a noisy area at night. Most of the night it was empty with little or no people roaming around that night But luckily this wasn't one of those nights.

Enough people were moving about the street under the streetlights installed. But the people passing by were not as chattery and thereby the street wasn't as noisy as it was during the day.

In her uniform, YiMing walked through the path heading home as she always did. She didn't mind people around or what they did. she was always on her own minding her own business as she headed home.

But now catching sight of a ghost ahead, YiMing had the feeling that she wouldn't be minding her business any time soon.

She stood there watching the ghost from Afar. From a distance, she could see it. And at first glance, she simply knew it was a ghost.

She stood there watching the ghost. She suddenly couldn't move with her attention attached to the ghost and what it was doing.

The ghost was moving from one person to Another as she asked something. But no one was even seeing her. They all passed by as though nothing happened.

But the persistent ghost was still moving from one person to another as she kept talking to them. YiMing didn't hear what she said either.

She should leave, but she didn't. She stood there watching and then when the ghost who feeling depressed and tired looked up at her

Their eyes had met as they stood opposite each other, distance away.

They stared at each other as the ghost slowly began walking towards her.

The pretty female ghost was dressed in a white sleeveless dress that extended to her knee. Her hair was long and messy. She looked like someone who had been busy for ages working for something. Judging from how untidy she was.

"You ...you can see me right?" The ghost asked as she drew closer.

YiMing stiffened. She could hear the ghost. But that wasn't her issue. Why was the ghost coming towards her?!

She slowly staggered backward slowly and slowly. But why was the ghost still coming closer?

"Don't go...I know you can see me... Don't try to run! Come here...you need to help me!

Like someone who suddenly recalled that she had something extremely urgent, YiMing turned and took off in a hurry. She had made a quick turn into another block hoping to escape from this ghost!

Li SiChen and LiLi were quietly riding in the car without having Anything to say when SiChen suddenly felt something odd.

He was still driving as he got out his stopwatch and looked at it. Playing with it in his hands for while, he sighed. " Troublesome" He mumbled to himself.

"Hey, I'll be dropping you off here..." He said.

"Huh?" She repeated.

After a while, SiChen pulled over the car at a distance "Here...Get off immediately" He said in a commanding tone.

"Oh..." Without further hesitation, Lili quickly found her way out of the car and closed the door. She felt a sense of liberation.

She didn't wait any further as she began walking ahead.

And just then, SiChen as well got out of the car "Hey!" He called as she stopped.

She turned to face him as he slowly walked up to her.

She stood there, watching as he now stood her. He had a wicked smile on his lips.

"When you get home...Tell them that you got your dream job today and you enjoyed it. And also...You shouldn't tell them that you saw me Because I want to make a unique entrance. But if you insist, then I can do nothing. Just bear I'm not here to play games with you. I'm the one playing the games now" He smiled.

With a long sigh, he placed a hand over her head and patted it gently "So be a good and supportive wife, okay? Don't think of upsetting me or playing any tricks around me... It'll just gain you a demerit, okay?" He said as he turned and walked away.

He believed that was enough to keep the scheming woman under control.

He got to his car and then drove off, leaving LiLi there. She was simply as baffled as she was. Speechless and not herself.

Her feet were tapping across the empty night street with her pant slightly heard through the street.

YiMing looked back from time to time as she ran. She didn't see the ghost behind her so she guessed she had lost contact with it

Panting Softly, she stopped looking back. The ghost was not there anymore, so she calmed herself down. Perhaps she had lost it.

She looked around the now-empty street. The broken streetlights that beard dim lights and flickering ones.

The scene on the street was too lonely and chilling. The chilling sounds of the night beasts singing their hymns through the empty street were something to send shivers down one's spine. And not to mention the flickering sounds made by the light.

YiMing had then realized that she had run into the isolated part of the street.

She stood there, slightly in fear as she looked around at every creepy detail, confirming that they were not any ghosts.

She decided that staying here was of no good, so she turned to find her way off. But the ghost was standing before her, watching her.

"AH!" She exclaimed as she drew back in Shock.

"You can see me... I know you can..." The ghost was slowly approaching with her hands stretched out to her. "You can see me... Only you can help me. So come...Come..... don't try escaping..."

YiMing was creeping out as she drew back without even thinking of where she was going. She was panicking, her heart was skipping beats and she could sense that she had gone pale!

"Stay..... stay... away.... stay..." She shuttered drawing backward and backward in fear...

"Just help me...I won't even hurt you ...help me...." The ghost was drawing closer.

"No...no...!" Her voice squeaked as she slid her feet over a rock carelessly placed on the street.

"Ah!"

She twisted her ankle as she fell backward...But then someone has caught her from behind...
