In the wee hours, Aiden's eyes snapped open, alerted by a metallic buzzing sound.
The alarm originated from the metal net covering his bed, which was shaped from a transformed mercury amalgam golem. When he slept here, he would have the amalgam golem take the form of a solid metal net to protect him. Once it sensed someone approaching, the net would vibrate and emit this piercing yet not loud buzzing alarm.
He immediately got out of bed and looked around, promptly spotting a figure standing outside the metal net.
It was still dark outside, and using a night vision spell, Aiden saw a woman with long hair almost covering half her face standing at the foot of his bed, her body draped in a white cloth that appeared particularly sinister in the darkness.
