"Do you know what has happened?" Aiden asked, propping his forehead, his complexion pale.
While conversing with Daili, he had been struggling to resist the erosion of his consciousness by the words left by Abigail.
"When you took the token, I guessed things might turn out this way—on the night of the full moon, Abigail could summon the Great Witches to her conclave through the token," Daili replied with a light smile. "Although I wanted to warn you about the danger, I couldn't speak out because of the contract."
"Cut the crap. Can you help me shut off the voice in my head?" Aiden asked bluntly, impatient to deal with this problem for even a moment longer.
"Of course, as long as the warden..." Daili said meaningfully, brushing her finger across her lips, "gives his body to me."
