Chapter 35 - Chapter 31: Trap

Xu Mo sensed the horse-drawn carriage with Elsa and Mia moving forward, and after traveling a certain distance, they encountered several small vehicles coming towards them.

The small passenger vehicles in the Underworld were unlike the sedans of the previous life; they were more akin to tricycles, but larger. The carriage at the back had windows and could seat four or five people, making them simple yet practical, like an upgraded version of a horse-drawn carriage.

Many children were sitting in the small vehicles, chatting noisily. Each vehicle's carriage had a woman looking after the children.

"Cobra." Xu Mo's pupils contracted. He saw that the driver of the vehicle at the back was Cobra. Were these children being abducted without knowing it?

Elsa's carriage met the vehicles head-on, and the woman on the vehicle called out, "Miss Elsa."

"Sister Elsa," the children greeted enthusiastically. They were obviously acquainted with Elsa, who responded warmly to each of them.

Xu Mo's mind was racing. He couldn't quite understand the situation.

If these people were being abducted, why didn't they know?

Did Cobra have his people posing as drivers?

Elsa knew the children, but what was their relationship?

As the vehicles approached, Xu Mo's sensing ability reached its peak. He noticed some suspicious individuals stopping, and suddenly many people appeared in the rooms on either side of the street, standing by the windows with guns in their hands.

"This is a trap." Xu Mo's face turned grim as he said to Seth beside him, "Seth, this is a trap. We can't take action."

"A trap?" Seth was stunned for a moment as the vehicles below approached their position.

"Bang!"

At that moment, a gunshot rang out from outside, as the vehicles were only a few meters away when the gunshot sounded. Ye Qingdie had fired, instantly killing the driver of the leading vehicle.

Screams erupted, and the street descended into chaos. The women looking after the children pulled them out of the vehicles and ran back.

In the distance, Elsa and Mia also heard the gunshot, turning back in concern.

"Elsa." A middle-aged man walked towards them, and Elsa looked at him, asking, "Dad, what's going on?"

"It seems to be a criminal group. The Law Enforcement Team has received the information. There's no need to worry; you should go back first," the middle-aged man said to Elsa.

"Okay." Elsa nodded, and the children began running back as well.

"Bang." Another gunshot rang out, causing Elsa and Mia's hearts to skip a beat.

Another driver was shot and killed. Simultaneously, the sound of breaking glass came as Xiao Qi and Fang Ze jumped down from a second-floor window, landing on the ground and heading towards the vehicles opposite them.

Xu Mo's face was not looking good; they had already taken action.

"Xu Mo, stay up there and don't come down," Seth instructed Xu Mo. While he believed that this might be a trap, they had no choice now. He jumped out of the window, landing heavily on the ground.

Xu Mo hesitated for a second, then followed suit. He was the only one capable of locking onto the enemy's positions; staying up there would endanger the others.

"Don't go out. Take cover," Xu Mo shouted at the others. Many people appeared upstairs, shooting at Xiao Qi and Fang Ze first. Both were hit, but thanks to their Battle Armor, they had not been killed.

"It's an ambush!" Both of them realized it as well and quickly took cover in the shops on either side of the street.

"Bang." Another shot was fired, and a figure fell from the second floor, killed by Ye Qingdie's sniping.

The people on the street had all taken cover, creating an eerie silence. The children ran back along the original route, and the once-bustling Stran Street was now devoid of pedestrians in this area.

Ye Qingdie and the others realized that this was not a kidnapping case but a deliberate hunting operation targeting them.

Who had set this up?

Among these people, there were members of the Law Enforcement Team and Cobra's men.

Both the law and the underworld were involved.

Cobra got out of his vehicle and walked forward. He wore a helmet, and after taking off his clothes, he revealed a body covered in Mechanical Armor. His limbs were sharp mechanical limbs emitting a menacing aura, creating an oppressive feeling.

"Bang." A bullet whizzed by as Cobra fixed his gaze on a distant position, tilting his head slightly to dodge it. His reaction speed was incredibly fast.

Xu Mo sensed many people moving towards Ye Qingdie's hiding place, clearly intending to deal with her. The situation was extremely dangerous.

With his heightened sensing ability, everything on the street came into his mind. He extended his hand and fired directly at a window.

"Bang." One shot to the head, and the target slumped over the window.

"Impressive," Seth praised, but Cobra came running towards Xu Mo's position. The metallic limbs scraping against the ground created a piercing sound.

"Bang." Another shot from the sniper, but Cobra was incredibly agile even while running at high speed; his mechanical legs were more nimble than real legs.

Just then, a sound came from above, and glass shattered outwards. A silver-faced man leaped down, wielding a Source Power Sword aimed at Cobra below.

Cobra, as if he had eyes on top of his head, raised his arm-turned-mechanical-blade and slashed it down towards the sky, clashing with the sword, sparks flying.

Several people poked their heads out, aiming at the silver-faced man and firing. At the same moment, Xu Mo and Fang Ze also leaned out and began shooting.

Gunshots echoed continuously. Xu Mo killed two, and Fang Ze killed one.

Fang Ze glanced at Xu Mo in surprise. He was using dual guns and had been training his Gun Skill with Sister Butterfly, making him highly proficient. How long had Xu Mo been practicing, and yet his gun skill was so accurate?

Cobra was already fighting the silver-faced man. The clash of blades and swords continued to create sharp sounds, their moves lethal and incredibly dangerous.

Xu Mo could tell that the silver-faced man was highly skilled and could single-handedly contend with Cobra.

Gunshots came from a distance; a gunfight had erupted on Ye Qingdie's side, making it impossible for her to provide support here.

Another figure emerged, wearing steel Armor, holding a long scythe—a Grim Reaper Scythe. He wore a metallic mask, with only his eyes exposed, and charged towards Cobra's battlefield, swinging the scythe down swiftly.

The silver-faced man was forced back.

A small figure dashed out—it was Xiao Qi, moving just as quickly. Xu Mo realized Xiao Qi was also a Cyborg. His hands transformed into sharp blades, slashing towards the scythe-wielding figure.

"I'm going to help. Xu Mo, I'll leave the gunmen to you," Seth said, charging into the battlefield. Though his body was covered in Armor, getting hit by bullets still had an impact, and their eyes were still exposed.

A man wielding a submachine gun appeared on the floor above, firing wildly at Xiao Qi. Xiao Qi protected his face with his hands, continuously dodging, but he was still hit and forced back. Xu Mo noticed that Xiao Qi's body was also modified with mechanical components.

Xu Mo put away his gun and brought out a set of Metallic Poker cards. He walked out, throwing one card forward. The figure holding the submachine gun ducked back, but the card curved mid-air and flew inside, slashing his throat.

His eyes widened in disbelief, not comprehending what had happened.

"You cover my side, I'll cover yours," Xu Mo said to Fang Ze as he ducked back to his position. He switched back to his gun. While bullets couldn't change direction, they were faster.

"Got it." Fang Ze nodded, and both stepped out, shooting at those peeking out. Bodies fell from Xu Mo's line of fire as Fang Ze watched in awe. What kind of gun skill was this?

Xu Mo seemed to be predicting their movements, shooting them in the head the moment they appeared.

Xiao Qi's body launched like a spring, running along the wall like a gecko, slashing at figures hiding by the windows with his blade arms.

With the three of them coordinating, those in hiding were continuously eliminated. Xu Mo's sensing ability covered the entire area. Only a few were left, not daring to expose themselves.

"Fang Ze, Xiao Qi, go help. I'll cover up here," Xu Mo instructed Fang Ze and Xiao Qi.

"Okay." They nodded, having thought Xu Mo would be inexperienced, but he turned out to be highly coordinated on his first mission.

If not for Xu Mo, things would have been far more complicated.

Another person tried to peek out to shoot. As his head emerged slightly, Xu Mo fired, predicting his move. The bullet grazed the target's eye, causing an agonizing scream.

Moke's face looked grim under his mask. Many of these people were members of his Law Enforcement Team, resulting in significant losses.

They probably wouldn't complete Secretary Jin's assignment with just these forces.

Seth and Xiao Qi launched a frenzied attack on him, with a gunman threatening from behind, putting Moke in a perilous situation. It seemed the opponents intended to eliminate him first before dealing with Cobra. With no one interfering, the silver-faced man continued clashing with Cobra head-on.

Aside from the noise of the battle, Stran Street was eerily quiet. From a distance, a figure walked towards them, his footsteps audible in the silent street.

He wore an exquisitely fitting red Battle Armor, perfectly molded to his body, even the helmet. The front of the helmet was gold, resembling a golden mask. The eyes behind the mask were cold, devoid of emotion.

As the figure approached, Xu Mo sensed a feeling of imminent danger.

This person was very dangerous!
