Chapter 19 - Chapter 15: Magic Show_3

"That's right, hand over the child quickly." The crowd was already in chaos, heading towards an uncontrollable direction.

Seeing the people pressing in, the Magician waved his hand, 'Boom', a wave of heat hit them, forcing them back with flames. Someone's hair even caught fire, and they hurriedly patted it out with their hands.

"Catch them!" someone shouted, as the child's parents charged forward in a frenzy.

"Watch out," Xu Mo shouted, as he saw the assistant Magician, who had spoken earlier, suddenly produce a short knife and stab someone in the abdomen. Screams erupted, and everyone instantly recoiled in fear.

"He's killed someone, quickly notify the Law Enforcement Team!" The chaotic noise grew louder.

Mia and Elsa were also terrified. Mia sat on the carriage, holding Yaoer's head, while the people around them ran in panic, causing the horse to become restless and agitated.

Xu Mo focused in that direction, releasing his spiritual power and keeping his gaze fixed ahead. When the Magician was grabbed, he spat out a burst of flames to force people back, but the child's parents still charged forward.

The Magician threw out liquid again, and the flames arose, but this time the fire uncontrollably surged towards him, burning even more fiercely.

A terrifying wave of flames engulfed him. He screamed in agony, emitting painful howls, and his companions, seeing this, fled without attempting to save him. The flames grew larger, engulfing the Magician's body, making him roll on the ground in extreme torment.

"Quick, smash the floor open," Xu Mo controlled the flames and shouted again. The child's parents had already lifted a box and, hearing Xu Mo's urging, they smashed it hard against the ground. As expected, the floor was hollow, and they quickly broke open a hole.

Xu Mo's perception immediately invaded. The people below seemed to realize something was wrong above and started escaping through the passage.

Some of the child's parents jumped directly into the passage, shouting the child's name loudly.

Seeing this, Xu Mo felt a bit relieved, but then he saw the knife-wielding assistant Magician charging towards him, causing the crowd in between to scatter wildly.

"Xu Mo!" Mia exclaimed in shock. Xu Mo focused on the opponent, dodging sideways when the opponent lunged with a knife, and kicked him from the carriage, causing him to stumble backward. At the same time, the coachman, Cooper, kicked out, hitting the opponent's head and knocking him to the ground, but Cooper did not move away, instead protecting Elsa in front of him.

The opponent got up and turned to flee.

Elsa and Mia had not yet regained their composure, still feeling horrified.

"Miss Elsa, the Law Enforcement Team should arrive soon to control the situation, right?" Xu Mo asked Elsa.

"Huh?" Elsa was taken aback, looking at Xu Mo with complex emotions. Just a moment ago, she had accused Xu Mo of talking nonsense, not expecting that it was indeed a case of child abduction. Without Xu Mo, the criminals would have succeeded.

"Yes, the main city's patrol teams are relatively more numerous and the security is much better. They should learn of the situation and arrive quickly." Elsa nodded and said, "I didn't expect someone to commit such blatant crimes. It's too vile."

"Then they shouldn't be able to escape. Let's leave first," Xu Mo suggested. He could only do so much since it was inconvenient for him to take action.

The crowd had already dispersed, and the carriage could pass. Cooper drove the carriage forward again.

"Xu Mo, you are too brave."

Once they had left the scene, Mia still felt some lingering fear and said, "Luckily, nothing happened. But I would have done the same."

Aside from the fright, there was also a sense of surprise. Xu Mo was truly courageous.

Elsa also looked at Xu Mo, her expression complex.

"I misunderstood you earlier," Elsa said to Xu Mo, her words simple and lacking any apology. For her, apologizing to a servant was difficult, though she did feel some admiration for Xu Mo's bravery.

Xu Mo turned back and asked, "Miss Elsa, were you speaking to me?"

"Yes." Elsa nodded but diverted her gaze elsewhere.

"It's all right," Xu Mo replied indifferently. He had no expectation that Elsa would put aside her noble pride.

No one spoke in the carriage, and a brief silence followed. Turning a corner and moving forward, the surroundings became open. In the distance, there was a splendid building, and Elsa quietly said, "We've arrived."

The carriage entered the church area.

The pure white buildings symbolized purity, adorned with white doves. Inside, the sound of clear music could be heard, bringing a sense of peace. Apart from them, there were quite a few carriages arriving.

"Elsa," a figure stepped out of another carriage and called out to them.

"Su Xi." Elsa waved at her and then introduced her to Mia, "That's Su Xi. She shared Wind Valley at a music concert with her friends."

"Yes." Mia acknowledged, smiling and nodding towards Su Xi.

Su Xi noticed her but only glanced briefly before looking away, not engaging further.

The group parked the carriage in front of the church. Xu Mo seemed to remember something and said to Mia, "Miss Mia, you go inside first. I'll go back to check on something."

"Where are you going?" Mia asked nervously, hearing Xu Mo's words.

"Don't worry, Miss Mia. I'm just going to see if those people have been caught by the Law Enforcement Team," Xu Mo said, "I'll be careful."

Mia hesitated but eventually nodded, "Just don't be reckless like before. Leave it to the Law Enforcement Team."

"I know." Xu Mo nodded, then bid goodbye to Mia and turned to leave.

Something didn't seem right. If the security was truly good, how could they dare to so brazenly commit crimes with magic?

He had no trust in the Law Enforcement Team at all.
