Jenny took a moment to spare a thought for Tega's words. How could he claim she would have rotted in jail when, in fact, she was innocent of all incidents? A core of her mind knew this was a psychological trick to beat her confidence in a bid to compel her to admit responsibility for the murders and make her beg for vindication. But Jenny would rather stick to her truth and follow her guts. She hardened her mind and ventured a statement at Tega.
''Excuse me, Mr Tega,'' Jenny said curtly, swallowing some spit to maintain her calm, ''I would rather prefer the interrogations, or whatever panel was to be set up.''
Tega straightened up and let out a ridiculous laughter, as he continued to circle round the table in suspense.
