The elders of the Rising Moon pack, the Alpha and Beta sat discussing attack strategies with the warriors and Drayven. They planned to move on the pack within two weeks. A blitz that would leave them unprepared and floundering. A few allied packs were invited to a meeting later on to join forces or sit out. He didn't expect them to sit around. His allies were all good packs, they were all loyal to each other and the were-kind. Among them was Armon and his clan of werebears, and Leo and his clan of werepanthers. As well as numerous other wolf packs who would lend paw to the cause at hand. He knew of several who had grudges against Kelly and the original Alpha before the merger into one pack. Still for all the dirty dealings and attacks they still weren't able to surpass his pack. He heard that the attacks might have been a branch of special forces that were part of her formal pack, he didn't doubt it. They had their hands in many dirty places.
He wanted the three of them in the meeting. He wanted them to see the siblings themselves. He just had a feeling it would make more of an impact. Call it intuition. He sent Drayven to get them and sent to the kitchens for coffee, tea and sodas to be sent along with cakes and snacks. He stepped into his office as the room was prepped. He was looking over his notes when Jessa entered the room wearing a light blue cardigan over a cream tank top and navy dress slacks. Her auburn hair was loose and framing her face in a riot of curls. Her green eyes apprehensive but determined. She was nervous. He knew. He probably knew he knew other species but he doubted she'd ever met any. The alphas coming today were his lifelong friends. They'd run tame in all their lands as they had his since they were boys. Maybe they should bring back the summer games.
"You're nervous." He stated
"A little, I don't know what to expect."
"Don't be. These are friends of mine. They're harmless."
In an hours time he took her hand in his and walked her into the meeting room with Drayven walking Amelia and Luna Mae and Andrew with Caleb. They all sat to one side and the others with their spouses opposite.
There was a giant man and a stocky lady beside him. James introduced them as Armon and Lola. Armon was tan and had streaky shaggy brown hair with blonde highlights and tawny brown eyes. He looked like a really bad guy with his tattoos and muscles but had the smile of an older brother. Lola was shorter and more rounded. She had honey blonde hair that hung in curls and the same kind of tawny eyes. She had a wide easy smile and a gentle nature about herself. Jessa could tell right away they'd get along. She just had that aura that made everything sunny and fun.
The set beside them were rather peculiar. The man was dark. His skin nearly black, he bore markings made in white ink under his skin. Ogham she realized. How odd to have ancient Celtic markings on a man who no doubt must've hailed from the African planes. His black hair was shiny and done in dreadlocks to his shoulders. The woman beside him, she was beautiful but had a feral look to her. Her long black hair was braided into two pleated braids with gold twined into them, she bore the markings too on her russet skin. Her dark brown eyes seemed to look all around darting and assessing for any potential danger. She was uneasy it seemed, but she was quick to smile. He kept a hand on her leg patting comfortingly. She almost purred. 'Must be a cat type?' Jessa thought to herself.
The doors opened and another couple strolled in, no, not a couple, a mother and son. Jessa sucked in a breath at the sight of them. Now they were gorgeous. Majestic. Beautiful. The male was huge, cagey and anxious but playful and constantly wiggling his fingers by his side. He seemed like he just had to move. 'I feel that' she thought. The woman, now she was a sight. Her body was lithe and tawny golden, her eyes a deep majestic blue. Her hair was dark umber and in box braids all over like her sons. She held almost a maternal sense to her it exuded from her. She wore it like a pride and coat.
"So sorry we're late." She said to Luna Mae. "Mae, my darling you look fabulous! Age seems to have forgotten you exist! You don't look a day over 30."
"You lie too don't you Sabrina? But I won't hold it against you!" Luna Mae laughed. "My Goddess David! Look at you! You've grown so much. Last I saw you, you were a cub!"
"Luna Mae" he bowed "Alpha James, Sam, Drayven, Alpha Andrew" he bowed to each. "And just who are these two radiant creatures?" he eyed Amelia and Jessa
"That would be my mate, Jessa, and Drayven's mate Amelia." James laughed. "Less than five minutes in and you've already zeroed in on the two loveliest girls in the room. You're growing into your lion then aren't you?" James said
"Jessa…." He purred "He's but a mere Alpha, I my lovely am a King, you should be a Queen, come away with me…" he joked as James smacked him on the shoulder.
"King of sand fleas perhaps. Jessa my love, do you wish to be a queen to the king of litter boxes?" he laughed as Sabrina and David laughed wholeheartedly.
"Oh how I've missed you lot." David said after a length of time. "Pride life is fine and all but I would take a pack any day. You guys have much more fun and no one is -pardon the expression- catty all the time." He complained.
"Oh hush you!" his mother scuffed him on the back of the head. "You love the attention from all the unmated Pride females."
"So I do, joys of there not being many other males." He snickered.
"Oh! You're werelions!" Caleb piped up finally cluing into the difference in the other species in the room.
"Smart young chap there." David said on a snicker. "Go on then, try and suss out what the others are then." He said half challenging.
"ummm… I think Leo and his female are werepanthers?" he said, "and Armon and Lola are…. Werebears?" he said.
"Very very clever. You are quite talented young man." Praised Rebecca. "We mask our scents, how is it you knew us for what we are?" she asked
"I have no idea, my wolf, Conrad? He just knew…" Caleb shrugged. "I don't know how he knows these things."
David raised an eyebrow at James, his expression humored. "Got yourself a warrior there do you?"
"Three actually…." He nodded towards Amelia and Sam too.
"Related?"
"Yup, uncle, niece and nephew. One from each of his sisters so the bloodline carried down. Also part of the reason we have asked you all here today. Along with the other neighboring alphas to arrive soon. Theres trouble David, BIG trouble."
"Something with your mate I presume?" Amon spoke up. He eyed Jessa.
"Yes, and her siblings. As well as her former "pack" and their treatment there." He air quoted the word pack. That brought on some looks but there was no time as the other alphas were arriving.
A long line of SUV's were on the drive. Letting out one group of men and woman after another. There must've been 20! How many packs had he called? Jessa let out another breath but didn't let her anxiety show. It was overwhelming knowing that there would be a war. A war started because of herself. It wasn't that she was ever the fainting violet, no, not her, but she also didn't want so much blood spilled because of her either. Legal justice would take years. Dragged on in courts and humiliating and wouldn't likely end in the death several of those jerks deserved. She also knew that a pack that size couldn't just be taken down by just them. It would take many. Most of the pack would stand strong with the alpha, but those who would be forced through command didn't deserve to be killed. There had to be a way around that. She'd have to look into it. She just knew there was.
She barely noticed when James pulled her along into the meeting space some time later. She was so far in her own thoughts.
"Alphas, Lunas and Betas, we have much to discuss…." He began.
