Chapter 23 - Chapter Twenty-Two: A Land Without Magic.

Prince Charming has a rock in his hand, trying to break the lock on the cell door. After a few more tries, harder and harder, the rock slipped out of his hand, he was panting hard. He slid down the bars and said, "I will find you, Snow. I will always find you."

Two guards came walking toward the cell, the first guard had the key and started to unlock the door.

"It's be hard to do that without your head," said the first guard, he opened the door and both guards came in and pulled up Prince Charming to his feet. "Get up, the Queen is looking forward to your execution."

The two guards and Charming walked toward where the Queen was, but Charming was staggering and he clasped onto his knees.

"Get up. On your feet!" said the second guard

Charming turned slightly and punched the first guard in the stomach and the second guard tried to grab him but Charming kicked the second guard into the wall. Then the first guard took out his sword and tried to stab him in the stomach but Charming grabbed his arm and broke it, pushing the first guard down to the floor. Prince Charming was choking the second guard with his hand-cuffs, the second guard was trying to get away from him but Charming walked over to the wall and smashed the second guard's head into the wall, knocking him unconscious.

Prince Charming ran away from them but another guard with a bow and arrow pointed it at Charming. He turned around and another guard appeared.

"Shoot him!" said the guard.

Charming faced the guard with the bow-and-arrow.

But the guard released the arrow and hit the guard in the chest with an arrow, Charming looked at the guard falling.

Charming looked at the other guard and gasped, wondering why he saved his life and did not kill him instead. "Who the hell are you?" he asked.

The guard took off his helmet and revealed that it was The Huntsman—Graham. "A friend," he said.

"I don't know you," said Charming.

The Huntsman walked over with a pair of keys in his hand. "But I know Snow White," he said.

"Is she okay?"

The Huntsman turned over Charming's hands and unlocked the handcuffs. "The Queen was traveling to meet her. Her fate is in a precarious place. We must hurry." He turned and started walking. "Follow me. I can get you out." Charming followed him. "I'll try and stall the Queen." He placed his hand on Charming's arm. "The rest is up to you." He bent down to pick up a weapon and provisions near a stone wall and handed it to Charming. "Your weapon and some provisions. Good luck."

Charming took them and started walking away from him, then he stopped and looked at the Huntsman. "You're not coming with me?" he asked, confused.

"I cannot," he said. "I gave up my heart so that the Queen would spare Snow's. Don't let my sacrifice be in vain. Find her."

Charming nodded and walked through a wooden door. He was going to find Snow and he wasn't going to back down until Snow was by his side. He would die trying to get his true love again.

Emma had brought Henry to the hospital and Henry was on a gurney, Emma beside him along with Dr. Whale and a few nurses pulling him into the hospital and into the building.

"Henry, can you hear me?" Emma asked. "Come on, Henry, wake up, please! Come on, Henry, come on." She was panicking and she didn't know what else to do, except to panic. "You can do it." She was shaking him, trying to wake him up.

"Ma'am, let me take…" said a female nurse, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"No," she snapped, pushing the nurse back, "I'm not going anywhere."

Dr. Whale took out a small flashlight out of the pocket of his jacket, lifting up Henry's eyelids. "Henry," he whispered. "There's no pupil response. What happened? Did he fall? Hit his head?" He asked Emma.

Emma held the apple turnover in the plastic baggie, holding it up to show Dr. Whale. "He ate this. I think it's poisoned."

Dr. Whale opened Henry's mouth and flashed the flashlight in his mouth. "His airway's clear. Did he vomit? Any convulsing or disorientation?"

A nurse placed a breathing ventilator over Henry's mouth and nose.

"He took a bite of this and then he just collapsed!" Emma snapped, shaking the apple turnover in his face. "So run the tests for arsenic or bleach or Drano or whatever could've done this to him."

"The boy is showing no symptoms that would suggest neurotoxin," explains Dr. Whale. "So whatever going on, this is not the culprit." He took the apple turnover from Emma.

"But what else could it be?" cried Emma.

"I don't know," he whispered. "That's what I'm trying to find out."

"He's gonna be okay, though, right?" Emma asked, placing her hand on Henry's arm and squeezing it gently.

"Right now, we just need to stabilize him 'cause he's slipping away. Is there anything else that you can remember? Any little detail."

"I already told you everything. Do something!" She walked to Henry's bag, unzipping it and opening it wide.

"Look, I understand you're frustrated, Ms. Swan, I do, but I need something to treat. And right now, there is no explanation, it's like…" he looked at Henry then back at Emma

Emma turned his backpack over and dumped the items onto the bed, trying to look for anything. She stared at the Once Upon A Time book and knitted her eyebrows at it. "Like magic," she said.

When Emma picked up the book, her eyes went wide and she saw flashes of her baby blanket with her name in the corner, Snow White and Prince Charming.

"Every story in this book actually happened," said Henry.

"Goodbye, Emma," said Snow White, kissing her daughter's forehead.

Prince Charming fights the guards off with Emma in his arms.

"You should know more than anyone. Because you're in this book," said Henry.

"Find us," whispered Charming as he put Emma in the Enchanted Tree Trunk and closed it with her in it.

Emma looked straight with a small smirk on her lips and couldn't believe that Henry was telling the truth.

"Where's my son?" Regina cried out.

Emma broke out of the trance and slightly lowered her head, her eyes darkened. "You did this," growled Emma.

Emma set the book down on the bed and walked over to Regina, taking Regina's arm, and pulling her into a supply closet, pushing her into a metal shelf. Regina crashed into it and a few things fell off the shelf and onto the ground, turning around to face Emma.

"You did this!" Emma yelled.

"What the hell are you doing?" Regina yelled as Emma grabbed her once more and pushed her against a row of lockers. "Stop this! My son…"

Emma placed one arm against her neck and the other holding Regina's wrist against the locker. "Is sick because of you!" she screamed. "That apple turnover you gave me, he ate it!"

"What?" Regina's voice whispered, her eyes wide with fear and panic and scared. "It was meant for you."

"It's true, isn't it?"

"What are you talking about?"

"It's true, isn't it?" She paused. "All of it."

Regina leaned her head back and closed her eyes. "Yes," she whispered.

"I was leaving town. Why couldn't you just leave things alone?"

"Because as long as you're alive, Henry will never be mine," Regina finally admitted.

"He'll never be anyone's unless you fix this," said Emma. "You wake him up."

"I can't!" Regina yelled.

"Don't you have magic?" She asked through clenched teeth.

Regina sniffled and shook her head. "That was the last of it." She took a deep breath. "It was supposed to put you to sleep." She pushed Emma's arms off of her.

Emma took a step away from Regina. "What's it gonna do to him?" she asked.

"I don't know." She shook her head once again. "Magic here is unpredictable."

"So, he could…"

Regina closed her eyes. "Yes," she breathed.

Emma started to breathe heavily, looking around the room then looked at Regina. "So, what do we do?" she asked.

Regina opened her eyes and looked at Emma. "We need help." She walked past her, hands on her hips. "There's one other person in this town who knows about this, who knows about magic."

"Mr. Gold," Emma breathed.

"Actually, he goes by Rumplestiltskin."

Emma and Regina looked at each other.

Emma still couldn't believe that magic was actually real and that Henry was telling her the truth about the fairytales. And she had to work with Regina with all people but she didn't care. She just wanted Henry back. She wanted to be a good mother to him. She didn't want to see Henry like that. She is willing to work with the person she hates the most.

Regina was pacing back and forth in her room, her hands on the hips of her black dress. When the Huntsman walked in, Regina looked up and asked, "Where is he?" When he didn't answer, she threw her hands up. "The prisoner!"

"Escaped," the Huntsman lied.

Regina lifted her hand at him, she made him lift in the air and pushed him on the other side of the room into the wall. She walked toward him, anger on her face. "A palace full of guards, and you let him escape?" she yelled.

"I did my best," he said.

"You failed! And do you know what happens to people who fail me, Huntsman?" she asked.

"I'll find him," he promised. "You needn't worry. Leave him to me."

A mirror tinkling, Regina turned and looked at the mirror. "That won't be necessary," she said evenly. She walked toward the small mirror and saw Charming running alongside a body of water. "He's mine." She lifted her hand once again and she changed the course. Now he was in the Infinite Forest, he slipped on a log and fell onto the grass.

Charming got on his feet and looked around, he started running once more and he didn't know where he was but he was hoping that he was going the right way. He just had to get to Snow White. But all of a sudden, he was back where he fell.

Rumplestiltskin sat upon a large tree that was covered in moss, his legs crossed and his hands on his knee. "Lost, are we?" he asked Charming with a smile on his lips.

Charming looked over his shoulder. "What are you doing here?" he asked, panting.

"I'm just here to help," he simply answered.

"Well, no need. I'll be fine." Charming started to walk off.

"No, I don't think so," said Rumplestiltskin, making Charming stop in his tracks and look over his shoulder once more. "This is the Infinite Forest. There's no way out. Well, except my way."

"I want nothing from you."

"Not even this?" Rumplestiltskin held up the ring that was his mother's.

"My mother's ring. It was just…" he took a step forward then he gripped his leather pouch. "How did you get it?" he asked, taking a few more steps toward Rumplestiltskin.

"The same way I get everything I want," he said mysteriously, uncrossing his legs and sliding off the large log, walking toward Charming. "Magic. The same magic that allows me to do this."

Charming placed a hand on his sword, just in case Rumplestiltskin was going to do something.

Rumplestiltskin tossed it into the air gently and the ring started glowing once it was placed back into his hand. "This ring is now enchanted," he explained. "The closer you get to Snow White, the brighter it will glow." He closed his hand around the ring. "Interested?"

"Give it to me." Charming took a step forward, his hand outstretched.

"Ah!" said Rumplestiltskin, his hand retreated. "It's not something for nothing, dearie. Time to make a deal."

"No!" Charming yelled. "No more deals." He took out his sword and swung it at Rumpelstiltskin but he dodged it. He went forward with his sword and Rumplestiltskin caught the sword between his thumb and pointer finger, he started giggling. He found it amusing.

Charming yelled and yanked it back, swinging the sword at him but he disappeared while he looked around.

"Over here," said Rumplestiltskin with a sword of his own, smiling at Charming.

Charming charged toward Rumplestiltskin and swung the sword at him but he blocked it with his sword, and Charming kept swinging his sword at him.

Rumplestiltskin is now behind Charming and lightly poked him with the tip of his sword. "Persistent," he said with a smile.

Charming spun around and swung the sword at Rumplestiltskin again and again but he kept blocking them.

Rumplestiltskin spun around and elbowed Charming in the stomach, and Rumplestiltskin held up his hand and used his magic to blast.

Charming went flying and landed on the ground, he quickly got up and took out another sword. He quickly started swinging at him and every time Rumplestiltskin kept blocking him.

Rumplestiltskin quickly grabbed Charming's shoulder, pulling him closer. "Had enough?" he asked.

"Never," said Charming.

Charming pushed him off and sliced him on the cheek with his sword.

Rumplestiltskin was bleeding from the small cut on his cheek, a small smile came to his lips then his hand hovered over his cut, healing it.

Charming lunged forward and missed him completely.

Rumplestiltskin elbowed Charming in the back then he used magic to make him fly into the tree and he rolled toward Rumplestiltskin. Charming was looking for his sword but Rumplestiltskin placed Charming's sword near his neck.

"Looking for this?" he asked. "So brave. So gallant. So pointless. Bravery won't get you out of this forest, dearie. Magic will." He leaned in a little. "Trust me, this is a deal you'll want to make. Because we both want the same thing."

"What's that?" Charming asked.

"Why, you and your true love to be together, of course!" Rumplestiltskin pulled out the ring that he had enchanted on his finger.

Mary Margaret walked to her as she exited from Granny's Diner, she took out her keys.

"Hey," said David.

Mary Margaret looked over, surprised. "David," she whispered.

"I was wrong. About you. About me. About everything. I didn't believe in you. And I wish I had a good reason why." He took a deep breath. "But it's like I keep making these wrong decisions, and I don't understand why they keep happening. You know, ever since I woke up from that coma, my life hasn't made a lick of sense." He paused. "Except for you. And what I'm feeling…" He smiled. "It's love, Mary Margaret."

She had listened to him but didn't understand why he was saying this to her. She didn't understand what he wanted from her. "David, why are you here?" she asked.

"Because Kathryn put a down payment on an apartment in Boston," he admitted. "She's not gonna use it. But I am."

Mary Margaret's eyes widened. She was surprised that he was moving away.

David smiled. "Unless you give me a reason to stay," he said.

"David," she whispered. "I can't."

David nodded once and he stood there, his heart was broken by Mary Margaret's words. Two single words.

Mary Margaret got into her car and started her car.

A single tear slipped down his cheek, closing his eyes. He walked off as Mary Margaret stayed in her car, wishing that she didn't have to break his heart.

"Behold," said Rumplestiltskin, holding up a bottle of purple liquid, "the most powerful magic of all. True love."

Charming reached for the magic bottle but Rumplestiltskin pulled the bottle back, wagging his finger at him.

"Ah!" he said. "Careful, this is all I have left of it."

"What do you know of true love?"

"Well, not so much as you, perhaps, but not so little as you might think."

"You? You loved someone?" Charming asked in surprise.

"It was a brief flicker of light amidst an ocean of darkness."

"What happened?"

"She died." Rumplestiltskin paused. "That's the thing about true love, dearie, it can slip through your fingers. It's the most powerful magic in the world. The only magic powerful enough to break any curse. It must be protected at all costs."

"I don't understand. What exactly is it you want me to do?"

"I want you to help me protect it. By putting it in a safe place for me." Rumplestiltskin opened his other hand and a golden eggshell came into his hand, he opened it and a blue velvet fabric was covered in it, placing the potion inside it.

"And where's that?" Charming asked.

Rumplestiltskin closed and tossed it at Charming. "Inside the belly of a beast, of course," he said, laughing.

Charming looked at the golden egg in his hands then back at Rumplestiltskin. "Why hide it?" he asked.

"Let's just say I'm saving it for a rainy day," Rumplestiltskin said mysteriously, he smiled and giggled.

The store bell rang out, and Emma and Regina came walking into the store while Mr. Gold was examining a guitar that was hung up on the wall behind the counter.

"Do my eyes deceive me, or is that the look of a believer?" Mr. Gold asked with a smirk, turning around.

"We need your help," said Emma as they approached Mr. Gold.

"Indeed you do." Mr. Gold nodded. "It seems quite the tragic ailment has befallen our young friend. I told you magic comes with a price." He looked at Regina.

"Henry shouldn't have to pay it," said Regina.

"No, you should. But alas, we are where we are," said Mr. Gold.

"Can you help us?" asked Emma, pleading with Mr. Gold.

"Of course," Mr. Gold whispered. "True love, Ms. Swan. The only magic powerful enough to transcend realms and break any curse. Luckily for you, I happen to have bottled some."

"You did?" Regina asked in a dangerous tone.

"Oh, yes," said Mr. Gold. "From strands of your parents' hair, I made the most powerful potion in all the realm. So powerful that when I created the Dark Curse, I placed a single drop on the parchment." He paused and smiled to himself. "Just a little safety valve."

Emma came to the realization. "That's why I'm the savior. That's why I can break the curse."

"Now you're getting it," said Mr. Gold.

"I don't care about breaking the curse, all I care about is saving Henry," said Emma.

"Which is why it's your lacy day," said Mr. Gold. "I didn't use all the potion. I saved some for a rainy day."

"Well, it's storming like a bitch. Where is it?" Emma asked, getting more and more impatient by the second.

"Where it is, isn't the problem. Getting it is what should worry you," said Mr. Gold.

"Enough riddles," said Regina. "What do we do?"

"You do nothing," said Mr. Gold, pointing his finger at Regina. He flicked his eyes toward Emma. "It has to be Ms. Swan."

"He's my son, it should be me," said Regina angrily.

"All due respect, but it's her son, and it has to be her. She's the product of the magic. She must be the one to find it," explained Mr. Gold.

"I can do it," said Emma fiercely.

"Don't trust him," said Regina, her voice hard.

"What choice do we have?" asked Emma.

"That's right, dearie. What choice do you have?" Mr. Gold asked.

"Where is the magic?" asked Emma.

"Tell me, Your Majesty, is our friend still in the basement?" asked Mr. Gold, taunting Regina.

Emma looked at Regina with a confused look on her face.

Regina looked at Mr. Gold with anger in her eyes. "You twisted little imp," she said. "You hid it with her?"

Mr. Gold shook his head. "No, no, no, not with her," he said. "In her."

Regina was taken aback by his words, she couldn't believe that he hid it in her. Fear was inside her because she knew that Regina would have to find her greatest enemy of all the realms.

"I knew you couldn't resist bringing her over," said Mr. Gold.

"Who is 'her'?" asked Emma, looking between Mr. Gold and Regina.

"Someone you should be prepared for," said Mr. Gold. "Where you're going, you're gonna need this." He opened a large rectangle, leather box to Emma and Regina.

"What is that?" asked Emma.

In that leather box, was a sword and a sheath, Mr. Gold looked at Emma with a small smile on his lips. "Your father's sword," he whispered.

Henry was in the hospital bed, connected to the monitors, trying to keep him alive. Emma placed a hand on his forehead, holding the Once Upon A Time book in her arms.

"Henry," she whispered, "you were right about the curse. I should have believed you." She paused, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry." She looked at Henry for a minute then she placed the book on the nightstand next to the bed, leaning down. "For you when you wake up," she whispered into his ear.

Emma walked out when Regina came walking in. "Say what you gotta say, you got ten minutes," she said.

"Do you know where to meet?" asked Regina.

"Yeah. Don't be late." Emma walked out of the room, leaving Regina alone with Henry.

Regina walked toward Henry's bed timidly, tears watering in her eyes as she leaned down. "I'm sorry," she said softly.

"Pity, isn't it?" said Jefferson, who was in the corner of the room. "There's nothing harder than not knowing whether you'll ever see your child again." He walked toward them.

"Jefferson, now is not a good time," said Regina, her hands squeezing Henry's hand gently.

"For you," said Jefferson, standing on the other side of Henry's bed. "Well, for me, it's the perfect time. I'm here to collect." He sighed. "Where is she? My daughter."

Regina looked up at Jefferson. "Emma was supposed to eat that apple and she didn't," she said angrily. "As far as I'm concerned, that makes our deal null and void."

Jefferson took a deep breath and leaned against the bed. "I did what you asked, and you're gonna screw me over again?" he asked.

Regina laughed, shaking her head. "Look at it however you want, Jefferson," she said. "The fact is, I'm done with you."

"But I'm not done with you," said Jefferson.

Regina leaned in close. "What are you going to do?" she asked. "Kill me? I know you want to, but I also know you can't."

"Do you?" asked Jefferson.

Regina scoffed and answered, "Yes. You don't have it in you." A nurse came in and checked in on Henry. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to save my son." She walked off and left Jefferson behind.

Emma knocked on August's door at the Inn that he was staying at, waiting for him to answer the door. "August?" she yelled through the door, placing a hand on the door. "Please open up. I know you're in there, open the door."

"I can't," he answered.

August was lying on the bed when Emma shouldered the door, making it open. Her eyes widened with his belief when she saw that August was wooden up to his chest. "No!" she whispered. "What's happening to you?"

"You can see it now," he said softly. "You believe."

"Yeah, I do," she said, walking over to August, "but how do we stop this?"

"Break the curse," he answered, voice straining.

Emma sat on the edge of the bed, next to August. "I'll try, I promise. But I got to save Henry first, and I need your help."

"No, you don't."

"Yeah, I do. This is all too much. I just talked to the Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin about a quest to find magic. I can't do it, August. I can't. No normal person can."

"Luckily for us, you're not normal," August whispered. "You can save Henry. You can save all of…" he trailed off when he fully wooden.

"August?" She gasped softly, holding his wooden hand, lowered her head, and sobbed then she took a deep breath.

Emma was pacing back and forth in front of a building, waiting for Regina to meet her there along with her father's sword. When she saw Regina walking down the sidewalk, she picked up the sword.

Regina had the keys and unlocked the door of the building and opened the door, she turned on the light switch on the wall near the door.

Emma came in behind Regina, closing the door behind her. "What is this place?" she asked, looking around the place.

Regina turned to her. "Would you like a tour, or shall we just get to it?" she asked.

"Lead the way," Emma snapped.

Regina walked over to a glass that was shaped like a tree, she placed a hand on one of the pieces of the mirror, and it started to move upwards.

"Whoa!" Emma exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.

Behind the mirror was an elevator, Regina placed her hand on the lever going up as the mechanicals started to move, and the doors opened and a metal elevator came into view. She looked at Regina and said, "Get in."

Emma eyed it. "After you," she said.

"It's a two-man job. The elevator's hand-operated," Regina explained. "I have to stay up here and lower you down."

"And I'm just supposed to trust you?" Emma asked, walking toward Regina.

"I don't think you have much choice in the matter, Ms. Swan," said Regina.

"This battle I'm supposed to fight, who is it? What is down there?" Emma asked.

"An old friend," Regina simply answered.

"Then why don't you go talk to them?" asked Emma.

"Because her punishment was different than everyone else's," said Regina. "I trapped her."

Emma was still confused about why Regina couldn't talk to this so-called 'friend' of hers.

"In a different form. She doesn't want to hear from me. You have to trust me on that," Regina continued.

"Okay. I will go down there," said Emma, nodded once. "But let's be clear about something, Your Majesty. The only reason you're not dead is because I need your help to save Henry. He dies, so do you."

Regina leans in slightly. "Well, then, let's get on with it," she said, pausing for a moment. "Now this is what you're going to have to do."

Emma was in the elevator, taking out her father's sword and looking at it with admiration. The elevator was going a million miles an hour, it was a wonder she didn't get sick. She was ready to beat the beast that was down miles under the town. She has to do this for Henry.

Maleficent walked up the stone staircase to a throne with a single seat with her scepter in her hand, she turned around and sat down. As soon as she sat down a sword came to her throat, jumped slightly at the feel of it.

"Where is it?" asked Charming, he walked in front of her, still having the sword on her. "Where is the beast that reigns over this castle?"

Maleficent lifted her hand slowly and waved it, making Charming fly and him on his back with a smile on her lips. "That would be me," she answered. "But 'beast' is so harsh." She stood up from her chair and walked down the stairs. "I prefer Maleficent."

Charming looked at the egg that was in his hand and then back at Maleficent. "I'm gonna need a smaller egg," he said to himself.

"Such a shame. So handsome," said Maleficent.

Charming quickly got up from the floor but Maleficent used her hand and blew out the candles all over the room, making it dark. Charming started swinging his sword all around him and Maleficent started laughing evilly.

"Show yourself, witch," Charming called out, spinning around trying to look for Maleficent in the dark.

A low growling came from behind him, Charming slowly turned around and saw a dragon with long, curved horns on her head. He ran from Maleficent and ran toward a marble pillar and just in time she blew fire at Charming.

When the elevator reached the destination, Emma pulled the entrance up above her and revealed a narrow cave, she slowly walked down the hall and looked around with the sword in her hand. She could hear his heart thumping, she was scared and nervous.

There was a glass casket, some of it was cracked. Emma slowly backed up and hit her back, thinking it was a rock but a large green eye opened. Her hand felt the skin of the dragon, realizing that it wasn't a rock. She felt the dragon getting up and Emma turned around and backed up, gasping softly.

The dragon roared with fire coming out of its mouth, arms covering her head with a rock blocking the fire from her.

Emma looked up, holding the sword in front of her and gasping in fear. She never thought in her life that she would have to fight a dragon. But here she was about to fight for her life to save her one and only son.

Maleficent once again blew fire toward Charming and he rolled toward another pillar, hiding behind it. He exhaled then Maleficent went behind the previous one that Charming was but he slid on the other side, trying to keep Maleficent from finding him. She turned her head away from Charming then Charming looked at her, and hid behind the pillar again. Trying to find a way to get that golden egg into her.

Charming had an idea and he was hoping that it'll work. He stood in the path of Maleficent, holding the egg in his hand while he put his sword back into the sleeve. "Come on!" he yelled at her. He ran behind the pillar and across the castle. Maleficent turned her quickly and tried to catch Charming. She nips at him with her teeth.

Emma still had the sword in her hand, she looked at the sword. "To hell with this," she said, tossing the sword onto the ground next to her feet. She grabbed her gun and started shooting at the dragon.

Maleficent got angry, she advanced toward Emma, lowering her head at Emma's level, and blew fire out of her mouth. Emma quickly ran and hid behind a large and tall rock, covering her face with her arms.

Charming started running up a different staircase, getting away from Maleficent.

Emma ran on a narrow stone path, getting away from Maleficent as she hid behind a rock pillar. Maleficent blew fire at it, trying to melt it.

Charming got to the stop and jumped over the edge, and onto the neck of Maleficent. She was flying around the room trying to get Charming off of her while flowing out bits of fire.

Emma looked at the dragon and Maleficent fell through a large hole between the bridge that Emma had just crossed and roared at her in rage.

Charming held on while Maleficent thrashed, still holding onto the egg. He pushed the egg into the side of the neck that was glowing orange.

Maleficent yelped in pain and Charming was on the ground, watching her carefully, panting hard.

Emma emerged from behind the big rock and looked down at where the dragon fell through, edging closer to the edge.

Charming started running once again as Maleficent was in the middle of the room. Maleficent ran toward him as she blew fire at him. He kept running toward the window and crashed into it. He fell into the ocean and emerged from the ocean, looking up at the castle.

Maleficent's head was out of the broken window and started breathing fire and roaring at him.

Charming grinned to himself and was proud that his plan had worked.

"And, yes, she was beyond hope, beyond saving. This was her end. When Prince Charming saw his belong Snow White in her glass coffin, he knew all that was left was to say goodbye. He had to give her one last kiss. And when he did, true love proved more powerful than any curse. A pulse of pure love shuddered out and engulfed the land, waking up Snow White and bringing light to the darkness," Mary Margaret read to Henry in the book Once Upon A Time, she closed the book and held his hand as she smiled sadly.

She leaned forward slightly. "Henry, when I gave you this book, it was because I knew…" She took a deep breath, trying not to cry, clearing her throat. "I know life doesn't always have a happy ending." She stared at him, blinking back tears but she knew that it wouldn't stop them from coming down from her eyes. "But I thought…," her voice breaking and then the machine started beeping, making her jump slightly. She turned to the machine and stood up. "What is that?" She started breathing heavily. "Dr. Whale!" she yelled for him.

Dr. Whale and a nurse came in and Mary Margaret turned to face him.

"Dr. Whale, what is that?" she asked.

"What's going on?" the nurse asked.

Mary Margaret started stammering, "What's wrong?"

Dr. Whale pressed two fingers to Henry's neck, checking his pulse. "Nurse, get her out of here, now!" he demanded.

"What is that?" she asked again. "What is it?"

A second nurse came in and pulled Mary Margaret out of the room.

"His heart rate's falling. Come on, Henry," said Dr. Whale.

The first nurse in the pink nurse's outfit started doing compression on Henry while the second nurse in the yellow nurse's outfit pulled the pillow out from Henry's head, setting it on the floor. While Dr. Whale looked at the machine and covered his mouth with his hand.

"Nurse to the ICU, stat. Nurse to the ICU, stat," said a woman on the PA.

"Henry," said Dr. Whale.

Another two nurses came into the room where Henry, Dr. Whale, and the other two nurses came in. "Defibrillator team to ICU. Defibrillator team to ICU," said the woman on the PA.

A male nurse started entering the security code to the exit with a cup of tea in one hand, walking down the stairs. "Your tea," he said, handing her the cup.

"Thank you," said the nurse, taking the cup of tea. "What's the commotion upstairs?"

The male nurse sighed heavily. "There's a sick boy. Took a bad turn," he explained.

She took a sip of her tea and set it down on the counter. "How tragic. Is there any hope for a…" She stopped talking and her face planted on the counter.

"Recovery?" he suggested, he leaned over and took the keys that were beside her. "Doubtful." He took the coat from the rack. The male nurse was none other than Jefferson.

Jefferson walked down the hall and one of the patients was mopping the floor, and he put up his index finger to his lips. He walked past Sidney's room and to the next one beside his, unlocking the door. Opening the door wide open, a woman was lying on the bed, sitting up when Jefferson came in.

Jefferson walked toward her, holding out his hand. "Come with me," he said.

She took his hand, shaking her head in confusion. "Who are you?" she asked. "Why are you doing this?"

"My name is Jefferson, and I need your help to do something that I can't," he explained. "There's a man. His name is Mr. Gold. Find him. All you have to do is tell him where you've been, and that Regina locked you up."

"Wait, wait, what?" she asked even more confused now.

"It's very important. Mr. Gold's going to protect you. But you have to tell Regina locked you up. He's gonna know what to do. You understand?"

The woman nodded. "Yes, I have to find Mr. Gold," she said.

Charming had swam up to the shore and Rumplestiltskin was on the sand waiting for Charming, standing by a fire pit which was blazing. "Impressive, dearie," said Rumplestiltskin. "Very impressive, indeed. Come warm yourself."

"I have done what you've asked," said Charming. "Return my ring to me."

"Course, you're in a bit of a rush," said Rumplestiltskin. "How rude of me." He held the ring in front of him, taking a few steps toward Charming. "With this, Prince Charming, you will find her."

Charming took the ring in his hand and it started glowing, looking down the ring. "Thank you," he panted out, walking past Rumplestiltskin.

"Something's missing," said Rumplestiltskin, holding up his finger while turning around.

Charming turned around to face Rumplestiltskin, a confused look on his face.

Rumplestiltskin waved a hand and red smoke covered Charming, his clothes changed and he was now in black dress pants with a bright red shirt, covered in small gems covering the edges of his shirt, and a wool coat.

"Now you're ready for your big moment," said Rumplestiltskin with a smile.

"Why do you want us together?" asked Charming. "What do you get out of it?"

Rumplestiltskin shrugged. "I'm a fan of true love, dearie," he said. "And more importantly, what it creates."

The dragon started snarling at Emma and she pointed the gun at the dragon and started shooting at it. Which made the dragon even more pissed off. The dragon landed on the other side, facing Emma.

"Really?" said Emma, getting up from the ground and started running once more.

The dragon roared and blew fire in Emma's direction while Emma shot at the dragon, hiding behind the large rock just in the nick of time. She shot at the dragon a few more before the bullets went out. She looked at the sword and then back at the dragon again.

Emma ran toward the sword as she hoped to the other side to grab it.

The dragon blew out the fire again toward Emma, missing her completely.

Emma picked the sword from the ground, and the dragon climbed over the huge rocks and spotted Emma.

"Hey!" yelled Emma.

As the dragon was about to blow the fire to Emma, Emma grunted as she threw the sword at the bottom of the dragon's throat. The dragon exploded and Emma crouched down, her back toward the explosion.

Emma turned to look and the dragon was in ashes, she stood up and walked toward the pile of ashes, and in them was the golden egg. She wiped the ashes from it and picked it up in her hands. She held it close to her as she breathed heavily.

Charming was on the horse, down the shoreline, the ring on his pinky finger, and the glowing was getting brighter and brighter. Once he got to his destination, he jumped off the horse and toward the seven dwarfs and the casket with Snow White inside of it.

They all turned around and Doc said, "You're too late." Moving aside so that Charming could see her.

"No. No!" said Charming, jogging toward the casket. "At least let me say goodbye." He looked up at them.

The three dwarfs looked at Doc and he nodded, lifting the lid and setting it on the ground. Charming leaned down and kissed Snow on the lips, he pulled away from her.

Snow opened her eyes and gasped, placing a hand on Charming's cheek with a smile on her lips. "You found me," she said.

"Did you ever doubt I would?" he asked, placing his hand on top of hers and smiling at her.

Charming and Snow walked along the edge of the ocean, hand-in-hand. They were happy that they were together again. And knowing that nothing could break their true love again. Not even a curse.

"How did you do it?" Snow asked.

"With this," said Charming, holding up the ring that found her. "It's my mother's ring. It led me back to you." He smiled at the thought. "And now, I never want it off your finger." He turned to face her.

Snow tilted her head confused about what he meant.

He got on one knee in front of her. "Will you marry me?" he asked, holding the ring between them.

Snow held her hand out and Charming slid it on her ring finger as they both smiled at each other.

She held her hand to look at the ring close, smiling to herself, and looked back down at Charming. "What do you think?" she asked.

Charming stood up and smiled, they grabbed each other's faces and kissed each other. Snow pulled away and frowned, looking away from Charming.

"What is it?" Charming asked in a whisper.

"There's the little matter of your father and my stepmother," said Snow.

"Ah. That." Charming nodded. "I'm open to suggestions."

"Here's one." She paused and looked at the castle. "Let's take back the kingdom."

Charming looked at the castle and then back at Snow. "How?" he asked.

"Like we shall do everything. Together." She looked up and smiled.

They both looked back at the castle once again, smiling. They were going to rule the kingdom and take back everything that the Queen had taken from them. And they were going to win.

David had filled up his truck in the bed with all of his belongings, he was carrying a brown leather suitcase to his truck and putting it in under the tarp. He opened the driver's side door, looked at the clock tower then got into his truck, started it, and drove off.

Emma was back in the elevator, holding the golden egg in her arms, protecting it with all her strength. Then all of a sudden, the elevator stops making her back crash into the wall. "Regina! What the hell was that?" she yelled up to her. "Regina!"

"Ms. Swan, you've got it?" Mr. Gold asked, looking down at Emma.

Emma was not expecting him to be here at all. Wondering why he was here in the first place.

"Mr. Gold, what are you doing here?" she asked.

"I've come to check on you," he answered. "I'm glad I did. Regina's abandoned you and sabotaged the elevator."

"What? I'm coming up." Emma started to climb up the elevator.

"Now, look, there's no time for this," said Mr. Gold. "You can't possibly scale the wall and carry that."

Emma set the golden egg in the corner of the elevator. "Yeah? Well, I can try," said Emma. She put her feet on the edge of the little grooves of the elevator.

"No, you can't. Just toss it up. Your boy is going to be fine. I promise."

Emma looked up at him, standing up on the top of the elevator.

"We're running out of time. Toss it up."

Emma grabbed the golden egg. "Okay, you hold on to it. I'll be right up." She tosses the golden egg to Mr. Gold and he catches it with one hand.

He smiled at it and walked away from the elevator.

"Mr. Gold?" Emma called to him. "Gold!" She started climbing up the ropes of the elevator. She finally got to the floor, Regina was bound and gagged with tape, and muffled yells.

She got to her feet and walked over to Regina. "Regina!" she exclaimed, ripping the tape off her mouth.

"He tricked you," said Regina.

Emma untied the ropes from Regina's hands quickly.

"How could you give him that?" Regina yelled at Emma.

"Where is he?"

"Gone." She looked at the door. "Gold! He manipulated all of this," she growled as Emma untied the ropes on Regina's feet.

"Come on, he can't be that far," said Emma, standing in front of her.

Emma's and Regina's phones started ringing, and both of them looked down at them and then back at each other.

"It's the hospital," said Emma.

Emma and Regina raced up the stairs to the ICU where Henry was staying, once they reached it, Mother Superior and Dr. Whale came out of the room with gloomy expressions on their faces.

"We did everything we could," said Dr. Whale.

"I'm sorry. You're too late," said Mother Superior.

Emma walked past them slowly going into the room while Regina went to the glass, trying not to break down. One of the nurses started turning off the machines that were connected to Henry, she took off the mask for his breathing.

Emma started breathing heavily, trying not to break down as well. She couldn't believe that they were too late. After all that they had done to save him. It was all too late.

Mr. Gold set the golden egg on the wooden table in the back of his shop, opening up a small draw that was on his table, taking out a key, and closing the small draw. He put the key into the keyhole and opened it, taking out the small potion that was held in the golden egg. He held it up in the air, examining it then he heard the bells to his shop from someone opening it.

He quickly picketed the potion in his pants and quickly closed the golden egg and put it in a small chest.

"Excuse me, are you Mr. Gold?" Belle asked.

Mr. Gold kept his back toward her, not recognizing the voice. "Yes, I am. But I'm afraid the shop's closed," he answered, he turned around slightly and realized it was her.

"I was told to find you and tell you that Regina locked me up," she said.

Mr. Gold slowly walked to her, not believing what he was seeing. He was looking for her, all this time. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Does that mean anything to you?" she asked.

Mr. Gold placed a hand on her arm and squeezed it gently. "You're real," he whispered. "You're alive."

Belle looked confused about what he was saying.

"She did this to you?" Mr. Gold asked in a whisper.

"I was told you'd protect me," said Belle.

Mr. Gold cries as he pulls her into a hug. "Yes!" he cried out softly. "Yes, I'll protect you."

Belle pulled away, more confused than anything. "I'm sorry. Do I know you?" she asked, looking at him.

Mr. Gold shook his head. "No. But you will," he whispered.

"No," Regina whispered, tears coming down her cheeks. She turned and cried into Dr. Whale's chest, wrapping his arms around her.

All four of them were in the room now, Emma slowly walked toward Henry with tears sliding down her cheeks. She pushed back his hair from his forehead, her chin started to wobble. She leaned down and whispered, "I love you, Henry." She kissed his forehead softly.

Once Emma said those words, Henry gasped and started blinking, looking at Emma with a smile on his face. "I love you, too," he said. "You saved me."

Emma started laughing as she kept crying. She couldn't believe that he was alive now.

"You did it!" Regina said with a smile on her lips.

All in Storybrooke were finally free from Regina's curse on them, Mary Margaret, Ruby and Granny, Archie Hopper, and David. David stopped his truck just in time.

Some of the nurses came into the room, Henry sat up with his elbows prompting him up.

"Henry, what's going on?" asked Emma, looking at all of them.

"No," whispered Regina, looking around her.

"The curse, I think you broke it," answered Henry, looking at all of them and then at Emma.

"That was true love's kiss," said Mother Superior, walking toward them both.

"No, no!" Regina cried out.

"If I were you, Your Majesty, I'd find a place to hide," said Mother Superior, looking at her.

Regina walked over to him. "Henry, no matter what you think, no matter what anyone tells you, I do love you," she said, walking backward and out of the door.

David had driven back to town, he was looking for Mary Margaret. He found her across the street, looking forward and not knowing that David was back in town. "Snow!" he called to her with a smile on his lips.

She stopped and looked over at him. "Charming," she whispered.

They both ran across the street, meeting in the middle, she placed her hands on his chest, looking at him with tears of joy. They couldn't believe that they had found each other.

"You found me," she said softly.

"Did you ever doubt I would?" David asked.

Mary Margaret pulled him close and kissed him passionately in the middle of the street, but they didn't care. They were happy to find each other once again. They will always find each other.

Regina was at her home in Henry's bedroom, she looked around his room, tears in her eyes as she sat down on his bed. She placed her hand on his pillow and pulled it to her, putting it to her face as she cried into it then holding it close while she sobbed.

Mr. Gold and Belle were in the forest, Belle was trailing behind him. Then suddenly, she stopped, she said, "Wait."

"No, no, we're very close," said Mr. Gold, who kept walking ahead of her.

"Rumplestiltskin, wait," said Belle.

Mr. Gold stopped and slowly turned around while Belle walked up to him.

"I remember," she said. "I love you."

They both hugged each other, Mr. Gold was holding back tears.

"Yes," Mr. Gold mumbled. "Yes. And I love you, too. But, hey," he pulled back a bit, "there'll be time for that. There'll be time for everything." He placed his hand on her cheek. "But first, there's something I must do."

Belle was confused about what Mr. Gold wanted to do.

Mr. Gold turned away from her and started walking, following him to the well that August and Emma went to. They stood in front of the well.

"What is this?" Belle asked.

"This is a very special place, Belle," he said. "The waters that run below are said to have the power to return that which one has lost." He glanced at Belle then stood next to the well, pulling out the potion, taking off the lid, and dropping it into the water of the well.

A gust of wind blew into the faces as a pinkish smoke came out of the well, Mr. Gold took Belle's arm and pulled her down along with him. The smoke continued to grow, covering their feet.

Dr. Whale sat on one of the beds while Mother Superior walked over to him.

Emma looked over at the two, eyebrows furrowed. "Henry, what's going on here?" she asked. "If the curse is broken, why didn't they go back?" She looked at him.

"I don't know," he answered, looking at her.

A nurse dropped something and clattered onto the floor as she looked out the window.

Emma walked over to her. "Are you okay?" she asked.

Henry got out of his bed as Emma looked out the window and a loud rumbling noise outside of the hospital.

Regina was still in Henry's bedroom, looking out the window, she heard the wind blowing hard. She got up and went to the window, looking out of it.

The pinkish smoke was now covering the whole town.

"What is that?" Emma asked.

"Something bad," answered Henry.

"I don't understand," said Belle.

"We're in a land without magic, Belle," said Mr. Gold. "And I'm bringing it." He held her close to him. "Magic is coming."

Belle looked at him. "But why?"

"Why?" Mr. Gold repeated, smiling wide. "Because magic is power." He looked at Belle.

A slow, evil smile spread across Regina's lips as she watched the pinkish smoke covering the town.

David and Mary Margaret held each other close as the smoke covered them and covered the clock.
