Chapter 93

Alex spent the whole day wondering about her mood; was she angry? All kinds of thoughts were going through his mind. He had quite a pile of files to deal with, but he needed to return home to her.

He had foregone any breaks he was supposed to have, running between meetings and going through project files sent to his office, hoping to finish before the end of the day.

His mind was creating all kinds of scenarios, and he couldn't concentrate, so he needed to go home to Malia.

With the help of Marina, Alex picked out files in order of emergency to be taken home with him. "Should I pack everything, Sir?" The files were many, and Marina wondered if he was going to work through the night.

"Just the four that were discussed today."

"Ok, sir" She put all the files into a briefcase. "everything is in, sir."

They headed out together, and once they were at the underground parking lot, Marcus came out of the car to carry the case from Marina's hands.

"Get in the car; we'll drop you off" Alex offered her a ride seeing that there was no one else at the company today.

"It's alright, sir. I ordered a taxi, and it will be here soon. Have a good night, sir."

"If you say so. See you tomorrow, Ms. Eliot" seeing as she wasn't willing to hitch a ride, Alex decided not to force her. It was only 7:00 pm, so it wasn't that late.

They were met with traffic on the way, and by the time they got to Alex's home, it was already 8:00 pm.

Alex, whose mood was still sour from meeting Mr. Beckett, felt all the fear weighing down on him disappear completely after seeing his mate in the kitchen.

She was cooking, an apron tied around her waist, and her hair tied in a loose bun. She looked beautiful.

He felt better after seeing her look calm without anger on her pretty face. Alex had beaten himself up the whole day, wondering if she was mad at him.

"Baby," He called out softly after approaching her. Malia raised her head and smiled back at him "welcome home, sir."

"Thank you, Malia. How was your day?" Alex wanted to know if she was in the slightest way still mad at him.

"My day was fine, thank you. Dinner will be on the table soon. Go freshen up.

Looking at her smile so brightly at him, Alex had nothing to pick on, so he decided to let go of the matter. Maybe she didn't take it seriously. He took his briefcase to his study room before heading to his room.

"Alpha," Dawson bowed in greeting after seeing the Alpha come out of his study.

"Dawson. Did you let the Luna cook alone? You know that she is still a little weak"

"Of course not, Alpha. I helped her out, but she wouldn't let me do most of the work. She said that she might as well let me cook if I was going to inconvenience her. But I was with her throughout. I just went to the cellar to pick some wine for you."

Alex nodded before climbing the stairs to his room while Dawson headed to the kitchen with the wine he had picked.

The wine didn't affect the wolves much, but Alex had grown accustomed to taking it because he had to attend many social events.

After serving the food, Alex joined his mate for dinner at the table. He dressed in black casual pants and a white Tee.

The food was delicious, and Alex couldn't hide his expression. The two had their dinner while exchanging small talk.

Malia was grateful for the calmness that her life had welcomed. Living with Alex had given her a sense of belonging although her future was a skeptical thing for her. All she knew was the current moment and the peace she was feeling.

Alex, on the other hand, loved her companionship each day that came by. Having someone to come home to was something that he had wished for, and he was glad that he could finally experience it with someone destined for him.

The next day, Malia woke up to a silent house, which didn't surprise her since it was already 10:00 am. After her morning routine, she went downstairs. The table was set with her breakfast; next to it was a note left by Dawson telling her that he had left for the grocery store.

The news excited her a little. She missed Amber and was going to see her. Alex had stopped her the previous day, saying something about her health, but she felt great.

Seeing as the food was still hot, she could conclude that Dawson had only left a few minutes back. When he returns later to find her gone, she would have spent more time with Amber.

She had her breakfast first and then returned to her room to get ready. Alex had bought her new clothes, so she had quite a lot to pick from,

While Malia dressed, she decided it was better to check where Amber was, so she called her, and lucky enough, she was home.

Malia left home knowing that her gorgeous beneficiary would be angry, but that wasn't something she wanted to deal with now.
