Chapter 50 - The second test

I moved to my computer; ten images glared at me, waiting for me to solve their riddles. I've been thinking for a while: this second test had to be more unthinkable to solve. All sequences had never been wrong: if the first was hard, the second had to be impossible. The school generously gave us ten images to investigate. What the hell did they mean by that. What ghost thing are they thinking? Some potential criminal suspects could even evade police psychological pressure, not to mention people the school programmed. These people really see us as the object of their jokes, huh? At this moment, I received a text.

[Guang Fang, how do you think the school chose the real victim of the rape case.]

It was a message from Li Min; isn't it too early to be asking me all this rubbish? How did I not know that I had become her problem solver? But it is not as if I am the one that chose suspected rape victims for the school; why should I be bothered to explain them. I better say something before she comes here on her own. I would shoo her away because the last thing I wanted was for her to appear inside my room again. In fact, I could never trust people like that girl because when she would accomplish her feat (whatever she was doing), she would discard me to cater to myself without batting her eyes.

[For now, it is hard to predict the dimension from which the school had selected the victims.]

I texted her back, hoping that her curiosity could end there. Looking at the pictures on my screen, I drowned myself in thought. Could it be that the school formed a pattern to qualify their rape victim? Ideally, if the school used patterns—then using personality might be too simple. That's because if two of the victim happens to have the same behavioral habit, there would only be conflict.

"What could it be?" I asked myself in confusion.

I opened my school id software, it loaded peacefully, and the display was orderly and simplified. I went to the section of student profiles and information and drove in the information at hand. Speedily, ten profiles popped up; the computer permitted me access, but it was limited.

I picked up my phone and made a quick call. When it connected, a voice came to me like a slap.

"What do you want?" it said.

"Can't you be gentle for once?" I retorted.

"People are following me now; I have no time for your games." I was not all that surprised, though. The way she behaved sometimes could be totally annoying. And why must she use that tone on me? Hmm, forget it.

"Where are you, now? In fact, forget it." I felt it wasn't crucial anymore.

At another end, a figure was about to enter a café. It was Li Min.

"I am going to have tea in the school café. They think I am the one that pulled it off; shouldn't you stop contacting me for the time being?" She was right, but she had nothing to fear because it would be harder to believe that I pulled it off anyway. Besides, they would only think I am Li Min's servant if nothing at all.

"Anyway, that does not matter; I am your errand boy. Use that for now for the basis of our relationship. In fact, rename your contact as that. Now that I have cleared that part, you should give me your ID clearance; I need to verify some information, but because of my ruffian behavior, it is hard to get deeper information." I said flatly. Even though I told her not to bother, she still told me.

"Oh, okay. I will send it right away."

At first, I wasn't about to call her for that profile permission because I had a wide area of network I could use. For example, I could use President Lin Gen or even Yue Si; there are others. However, I was trying not to alert anyone who might know these people. Who knows if they were close to our competitors. Or they may be watching all these strong panels. In any case, I didn't want to appear under the radar right now. I would hate it if people started paying attention to me. At the same time, Li Min might have more permission than all these people. She was not simple after all. But I haven't had the chance to compare these things.

Soon, Li Min managed to send me the information; I logged in with it and brought up the ten profiles again. This time, I wanted to treat them slowly. I would have to peel them layer by layer until I screen almost all of them. There was no way I could start investigating ten people. Nah, I had to narrow them.

The first profile was Fang Nuwa. [A second-year class A student; she is sixteen years old. She is also brilliant and averagely social. Fengshui: water. Zodiac sign: tiger. Extreme temperament: choleric]

Well, this second-year student had charming physical features, and she was cute, and if nothing else, I would say she would become a gorgeous lady. And she was young. Nice!

The second profile was Bambang Chen. [A second-year class A student; she is sixteen years old. She frowns mostly and has poor academic achievements. Fengshui: Earth. Zodiac sign: Rooster. Extreme temperament: melancholic.]

The third student was Zemin Cuifen. [A second-year class A student; she is fifteen years old. She also has an average academic performance. Zemin Cuifen does not look assertive, and she is easily intimidated. She is timid and acquiescing. Fengshui: wood. Zodiac sign: goat. Extreme personality: phlegmatic.]

Zemin Cuifen looked paled and weak; she had big eyes and flat brows. And not to mention that she was also very young.

The fourth student was Liqin Dandan. [A second-year student, class A. She is an average student and is only sixteen years old. Fengshui: fire. Zodiac sign: dragon. Extreme temperament: choleric.]

Liqin Dandan has sharp and small eyes. She also had an arrogant posture and face. Her brow was dark and perfectly lined.

The fifth student was Bai Meixiu: [A top student, second-year class A. She loves athletics and smiles often. She is gifted and courageous; it is noticeable from her club activities. She is fifteen years old. Fengshui: wood. Zodiac sign: horse. Extreme temperament: sanguine.]

That's the first row of the pictures, and they were second-year, class A student. Their information was explicit, just like I would expect from the clean and honorable student clearance ID of Li Min. Unlike me, the school would have withdrawn a lot of information. Perhaps, Li Min might even access more information than the student president. In any case, it was not like I particularly cared about these fractures of differences. If any of them came in handy, I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

'Right now, Changming Quan is running several errands for me.' I thought. That guy had become more valuable than some useless course representative. If I hadn't known better than to control those fools using Li Min, they would have sent useless names and burned us all to death. It was good that the class trusted Li Min to heaven. Else, we would have received such underhanded attacks from the enemies. So, for now, the students were safe from stupid betrayals. If anything, I could only say that this was the benefit Li Min could provide. But not that I care anyway. So since classes A and C couldn't get anything, they unintentionally forced themselves to spread rumors. In fact, they wanted to control the whole class on this bases. No one could casually betray them.

Coming to all these pieces of information, I forced my brain to start making the most of them. But about Zodiac signs, I only finally remembered my mom and dad always had to compel me to master the zodiac using solar terms. The solar period starts with spring being the first day of the 24 solar terms. However, from the information here, it looked as though these people's parents calculated their zodiac using the new year, which is the first day of the lunar year.

"My birth date is January 12th, 2004. It has been engraved into my head that I am Monkey in my zodiac sign. Still, my parents told me that great people choose signs while mediocre allow the signs to choose them. Sometimes I wondered if they mistook me for a God. When was it my turn to choose my sign? But now that I think about it, they were telling me that based on something profound. From the circumstance, I could use any of the zodiac signs. My Fengshui is wood. Now that we are in the second semester and November, it would soon be January." I mused.

Instantly, an idea flashed on my mind; no, to be precise, a curiosity flashed through my eyes. I entered the necessary keyword, and immediately a profile popped up. It was Li Min with her usual cold and arrogant posture. Honestly, she was so cute on her profile; she was just unusually perfect. I checked her information: A top student, top athlete, and top social life. Birthdate: December 28th, 2005. Fengshui: yang wood. Zodiac sign: Monkey.

Her detail is just like her, after all. Or maybe, her attributes corresponded with her outer behaviors. At the same time, she seemed to calculate her zodiac using 24 solar terms, just like me.

But if she was a top student, why did she still have the time to bug me. The whole thing overwhelmed me to no end. And I couldn't understand why her profile would say one thing and the actual person would do another. Top student, huh? In my profile, I didn't even see single praise; it was a miracle the school didn't curse me. Had it been Jian He who handled my profile, there would be a few curses.
