Chapter 11 - Scan it

Li Min had an unbelievable expression. Clearly, she did not expect me to be indifferent and unchanged by her beauty. She indeed had an extraordinary beauty, and even as a teenager, she did have a mature charm. But what about it? That didn't mean anyone could act the way they wished in front of me, especially when I uncovered that I had never changed a thing about my ruffian behavior but that a damn golden stele continuously stole my violent energy. It made me want to curse out of my breath.

"Your name is so unfamiliar that I wondered where you got it from, maybe an ancient family?" Li Min said, seemingly to poke my interest. Anyway, she had succeeded as my dull eyes suddenly sparkled with light. Of course, I concealed the interest lest she rode on the wave.

"Do you know anything about the ancient families?" I asked emotionless. How dare she act like some giant in front of me.

"Yes! As a matter of fact, a lot more than average individuals. However, these great families had severed these pieces of information from ordinary people. In other words, you weren't supposed to know what I've just said now." Li Min hummed, excited about my quick wit.

"What made you so sure you're seeing an ordinary soul then; do you usually despise people like that?"

I looked at her, suddenly lost in thought. What is this girl playing? It was unusual for her, after all. Of course, I knew she must have looked into my information. It wasn't new for these arrogant ones to try such underhanded things—scavenging information behind someone's back. 'One of these days, we have to decide who's the boss. More importantly, I need to break out from that gods-mind and show my mighty might. However, if I can't, I will double, no, triple my violent nature. Let me see how it'll hide them all.' I consoled my angry mind.

"What's your game?" I questioned her bluntly to know her plan. Regardless of anything, I wasn't about to play her games. However, she smiled lightly, and unexpectedly, I lost myself in my memory. She was so cute as she showed her delicate and shiny white teeth and a visible dent on her cheek. Honestly, her dimple was cute that I almost forgot I was staring too much. Even when she didn't smile, she was beautiful. Now that she revealed a glimpse of her smile, I thought she was perfect. It was no surprise why people acted stupidly around her. I immediately maintained my serenity as she awakened with a teasing voice.

"I am playing no games, I promise."

She must've thought: all men had to bow to her perfection even though they didn't want. In fact, this time, her voice was not as cold as before; this situation made me feel like things were no longer that simple. In fact, no one could possibly change in a blink of an eye, except they are up to nothing good. I stared at her with disbelief.

"You must want something for the pieces of information you intend to give me, right? What if I am not interested?" Honestly, I had to believe that nothing goes for nothing. So I could not let my guard down for a second. I tapped the table gently with my right index finger as I waited for her answer. 'What's it gonna be!?' I exclaimed a half learned English in my mind, fervently waiting for her explanation.

However, she shoves a piece of card at me. The card was nearly a fist-size with concise information like name and class printed boldly. In addition, it had a barcode area on the reverse side. That thing was the student identity card. Why the hell was she bringing that thing into our conversation. Even though I had guessed the reason, I couldn't help but still wonder about it.

"Scan it. I believe I will be talking more with you from henceforth. I will talk to you about things to do in exchange for vital information." Li Min immediately changed back to her usual indifferent demeanor.

(For a few seconds) I looked at her in disbelief before taking out my simple foldable phone. As I opened the lid, the light in the handset shone joyfully, like it was her anniversary. Then, I scrolled to the scanner and scanned the barcode; it immediately registered Li Min's phone number and email details. Also, my details appeared on her phone as her phone beeped with joy. This contact was the first of its kind that I had acquired in my entire life; many people never loved me, and I never had the knack of making friends. So I never kept contact with anyone.

While this was happening, everyone stared at me like I had committed a capital offense by exchanging contact with their goddess. Of course, none of the people had the gut to voice their displeasure, much to my satisfaction. They could only helplessly agonize. Do they think I particularly like those unusual shower of attentions? In fact, this lass in front of me was not a good bird. I could feel she would get me into countless trouble. Regardless, as they agonize in their minds like people tormented by special fire, I got a glimpse of a cold eye glaring at me with resentment. I turned blind eyes instantly like it had nothing to do with me. This reaction clearly increased the war spirit and frustration of that person.

Li Min stood indifferently and unexpectedly; she had accomplished her feat, and there was no need to stay. This result confirmed my previous doubt—she planned the whole thing. Her indifferent face exuded an air of superiority. She grabbed her paper cup with a soft drink and sipped gently. "I will give you a chance to know the larger world only if you pass the upcoming first-semester examination." She dropped the cup on the table and walked out.

"Don't go thinking such things are of any interest to me. Who do you think you are to put me on that pedestal?" I said flatly; my voice was at least enough for her to hear, but she didn't pay any heed as she moved out; that cold bitch made me giddy.

After a moment of contemplation, I decided to finish my meal quickly. However, three girls visited me instead. Today, I've unexpectedly become a superstar. I wonder which heaven star I stole to bring such unexplainable disasters my way. But in fact, it was no surprise that Toa Fen and her faction came. Anyway, this person was the same one darting me a hostile gaze formerly. She couldn't have expected Li Min to be one pressuring me. I couldn't possibly call that a chat—it was like a superior talking to a subordinate. Just as Toa Fen came, she snorted and sat proudly opposite my seat; she looked straight into my eyes. I wondered what demon had posses this one. I could totally tell I would have no peaceful days anymore, but I had to bite the bullet and anticipate her actions.

"You again! What do you want?" I have decided she was no good fruit, so there was no need to be polite. I was even angrier the way her two servants guarded her like there was no one like her. Tao Fen had not spoken, but Lan Mei had angrily snorted like I was a dead weight that they were offering help. Boazhai Dayu was quiet, as if alone in the dark, hoping no one could notice her. How could someone be so timid and afraid, was she born that way? I couldn't help the thoughts in my mind.

"You touched me yesterday, and that offended me. How do you make up for that?" Toa Fen's voice was clear; I was sure she wasn't here for a bargain; her lion eyes captured my position as if I was her prey.

Another unfruitful drama. Even if there was nothing good about this fellow, even if her word skewered me mercilessly, there was still nothing I could deny about her statement. Clearly, I had touched her yesterday, but she did provoke me to that point. How could she want me to run around for her? That was literally impossible.

"How do I make up for that? You wanted me to be your pet. That was obviously a misplacement of priority, and it was completely illogical. The world had obliterated slavery era long ago." I spoke flatly as if not interested in her discussion. I continued to eat.

"Then, you don't mind if I shout that you tried to rape me?"

I had underestimated Toa Fen's determination as she had no intention of giving up. This result kept me bothered; I tried to think in her direction. There was nothing worth keeping shoulders with me. This game should have been over a long time ago. 'What does she really want?' I pondered with a frown.

Almost as if noticing my thought, she tapped her finger lightly on the table. "You pique my interest. You are not afraid of the sky as you will do things of your preference instead of allowing others to force you to submit to their will. That is one reason. But the other reason is that I like to possess what I want. Even if it was worthless pieces of crap, because I wanted it, I must have it. Nothing more." Toa Fen was totally shameless, and she believed herself to be the sun, so the glories should belong to her. "Give me your contact detail. I can slowly work you."

"In other words, you are blackmailing me into giving you my contact detail?"

"Yes!" Toa Fen answered shamelessly.

"Just in case you did not know, I will do that, but you don't want to cross the boundaries or stretch me to my limit. Else I will squeeze you out angrily, and I won't care about the school." I confessed to her before I shoved my card toward her. She took out her simple phone and scanned the barcode as she got my information. Almost simultaneously, I got her contact and email details as well. Unfortunately, I had acquired two contacts under two shocking conditions. I took my card and hastily stood from my seat. I did not probably want to sit another moment with this group of no good, so I stood and left in a hurry; all eyes in the cafe shot me their baleful gaze—I was their nemesis. However, even if they agonize over it, they could never understand my position on those encounters.
