Chapter 23 - THE OLD LADY CALLED ME "NUMBER 26" AND THE SWORD

I was very tired and felt so much pain. I felt I was suffering too much that I was unable to walk anymore. But the old lady called me: "Number twenty six, come inside!" the old lady yelled.

...

I sat lazily on anything above the ground. I was so tired, tired of everything in my life.

I felt that I couldn't walk fast anymore, as if my body was so heavy that I couldn't drag my feet any longer to a certain distance.

From a distance, I saw a small shelter. It's a few meters away from me. It looked like a nipa hut, made of bamboo and light materials. Many men were lining up outside of it, as if each was waiting for their turn to be called. They entered one by one after a certain lapse of time.

I could barely think straight due to the aches I felt inside of me all throughout my whole body seemed not in the right system to function well. Then, I heard someone's shouting loudly from the inside of the nipa hut. It was the voice of an old lady calling for someone from the outside to come in but I saw nothing, no one was lining up anymore outside.

"Number twenty six, come inside!" the old lady yelled.

I figured out that she was referring to me. I was a bit hesitant to respond at first.

But I couldn't ignore it afterwards. I answered her call, and forced myself to stand and walk lamely, as if I was dragging my whole tired body towards the small hut.

After a few minutes, at last I made it, and had entered inside. It was bare inside, no furniture, no other people around but only the old lady. She was seated in the center of it.

"Come here!" The old lady waved her hand, signaling to come nearer. Then she extended her arms, handing out a sword. She's giving it to me.

She's telling me about something. I did accept the sword while listening to her words.

The old lady was giving me instructions about something and I listened and did understand it.

I accepted the task she gave to me, whatever task she had delegated despite all the hardships and suffering I was experiencing that time.

I need to overcome all my personal pain and suffering, to set aside all the unnecessities in this temporary material world and to focus on the assigned task mandated to me wholeheartedly.

Then, I went outside and I saw a certain group of people chatting and laughing with one another, in a distance.

I called all of them to gather around me, to tell them about something very important.

They followed too, they came and stood around me forming a circle; I was standing in the center.

I talked loud enough, for them to hear all the words I was trying to convey to them all. Some had accepted my words nicely but most of them misinterpreted my words and they spoke harshly to me.

And others were not contented, they picked up stones and threw it all to me. But a great miracle happened, all the stones they had thrown at me didn't even hurt me at all. As if I have a powerful shield around me that the stones just bounced away from my body.

They left one by one afterwards and I also continued my journey thereafter.

Next, I woke up.
