[Vereena]
It was all just in my head. The lingering feeling that something was watching us was all just a product conjured up by my fear of not knowing what lays beyond our plain sight. Only relief washes over me soon as I woke up by the sound of our tent flapping open, and Callum crawling next to my side.
His hefty arms instantly draped over me, and I moan half-awake when he placed a soft kiss on my neck.
"Is it morning yet?" I mumbled, twisting around and snuggling closer into his chest.
"It's still night, go back to sleep caileag," he murmured in response, pulling me even closer.
The heat of our bodies radiated, giving each other additional warmth. My ear pressed against his chest, and the steady cadence of his heart lulled me back to sleep.
