[ —Callum]
Rounded on the Jewel's deck, Callum could feel the perturbation of his crew burning at the back of his skull. Lynx did not approve of this and Vereena would likely look down her nose at the very idea. Even Auria, who is aware of how risky it is to accept the challenge that Captain Santiago has demanded, had her eyes widen in fear as she focused on him. It was a duel to the death, and one can only be declared the victor when the opponent still draws breath.
They could only select one weapon to defend themselves, and Callum chose a dagger while Captain Santiago chose a long and heavy sword. It has a beveled ground on one side, brass fittings and the tang goes all the way through the hilt and is riveted over. The grip is wood and well carved. Callum refused to get intimidated, it was indeed a frightful-looking piece of a blade, but considering his opponent's age, he doubt Captain Santiago could weld it well.
