My gaze went to the top of the crow's nest soon as I heard Haig announce our arrival. Ever since we left the island, I could feel Callum's mystified gaze on me. No, he wasn't angry just as he was a while ago. More of it, he was troubled with everything that had transpired back there.
I could say it did the same for me as well.
Why didn't I get hurt? Not that I am not grateful, otherwise I would be dead. I was sure I drowned. I shouldn't have survived what happened, yet here I am, sitting inside the yawl, staring at the raging volcano receding farther and further into the horizon. I am drenched to the bone, but I wasn't shaking because it is cold. As a matter of fact, the air is still stifling hot, however, it was nothing like scorching compared to being on its rocky shore. Yet, my body refused to stop trembling even though we are already away from danger.
