Chapter 10 - 00:00:10

Mageia Academy entrance examination for aspiring heroes and mages. It is one of the upheld beliefs of the Academy that nobles and commoners are all equal, and hence anyone who aspires to be a warrior or a magician can enter the academy and take the examination. Examinees shall be tested on their abilities and capabilities with various challenges. A written examination will take place at the beginning of the examination, and the second part of the examination will take place at Tower Level 1.

Ribai observes the students who were entering the academy from the window of his office. "Hmm, what do we have here?" he asks, massaging his mustache and holding his staff. Ribai Bahurim, the Master Director of Mageia Academy, is a distinguished and highly revered figure within the Mageia Academy, known for his exceptional mastery of the earth attribute. As the Master Director of the prestigious academy, he holds a position of great authority and responsibility, guiding and mentoring young mages on their path to harnessing the powers of their attributes.

In appearance, Ribai Bahurim is an imposing figure. He has a dignified aura that commands respect, and his regal presence exudes wisdom and knowledge. His most distinctive features are his brown hair, which flows in a neatly groomed manner, and a thick, well-groomed mustache that adds to his authoritative appearance. Despite his imposing presence, Master Ribai is known to be approachable and compassionate, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His teaching style is patient and understanding, encouraging his students to explore the depths of their abilities while instilling a deep respect for the power they wield.

As an earth attribute, Master Ribai excels in manipulating the element of earth. He can shape and control rocks, soil, and minerals with precision and finesse. His spells are often characterized by their stability and grounding nature, making him a pillar of strength in both defense and offense. Beyond his magical prowess, Master Ribai is also known for his keen intellect and vast knowledge of magical history and theory. He has a deep understanding of the delicate balance between the elements and imparts valuable lessons on the importance of maintaining harmony in the use of magic.

"There are a lot of talented students who will take the entrance examination this time." Hepher, the Magic Theorem professor, sipped from his coffee after commenting. "I agree, Professor Hepher, this time the young geniuses from the different household will be taking the examination. It's really a sight to see." Dusk, the Defense instructor, said enthusiastically. Keir, the Advanced Magic professor, chuckled. Ribai glanced over the professors of the Mageia Academy, "It's time." All of the professors nodded and left the room. "May the gods and goddess bless you." Ribai said while looking at the students entering the Academy.

Beom-seok don't know how to feel while being trapped in at the carriage with Isid's older brother, Ashish. "Brother, thank you for accompanying me." Ashish's lips twitched, "Nonsense, I am just following Father's order" Beom-seok nodded while restraining a smile. Contrary to his icy demeanor, Ashish is glad to be with his brother before he takes the examination. Ashish is always with Isid at all times, observing and helping him at the distance. His family and the people of the household want to treat Isid with kindness and protect his younger brother from the prying eyes and criticism of the society, however Ashish wants to do the opposite. He wants Isid to learn that he has to be strong no matter what, he doesn't want his brother to show weakness no matter who's he facing. The use of weakness as a means to trample an individual is a sad and unfortunately common phenomenon in society. Throughout history and in various contexts, people have exploited the vulnerabilities or perceived weaknesses of others to gain power, control, or superiority over them. Ashish wants his brother, Isid, to know this reality. Despite that he can still help himself but to worry for his brother. Hence, without Isid knowing, Ashish helps his brother. For how many years, Isid's personality just got worsen. He yells and resort to violence and was always angry with him and Izhar, however, that changed when one day morning at their breakfast Isid decided to take a seat with Izhar. The servants reported that something has changed with Isid starting that day, he no longer yells and throw things to the servant. He became close with Izhar and to their parents. Ashish does not know what happened, but he is happy that his brother changed for the better. Maybe he realized something that changed him, Ashish shrugged.

The two brothers parted when they entered the Academy, "Isid."

Beom-seok stopped when he heard Ashish spoke, "Yes, brother?" Ashish did not respond and just stared at Beom-seok. "Good luck." It was brief, but Beom-seok could feel the sincerity and concern in the tone of his voice. "Thank you, brother." Beom-seok left and was assisted by the staff of the academy to go to the examination hall. Beom-seok cannot help but gaze in wonder at the Academy's buildings and scenery. The whole academy was bustling with excited and nervous examinees. Beom-seok laughed; he feels like he is back with the school that he was working at in his past life. Upon entering the examination hall, Beom-seok was greeted by a huge crowd. 'Wow, so many students, he thought to himself. 'Then, I should not be worried about crossing paths with the main characters.' He smiled. His smile turned into a grimaced when he saw Pierce, Zephyr, Loch, and Zoltar sitting at the front of the examination hall, while on the farthest left near the window, Elio was seated. As expected of the main characters, they really stood out.

Many people were eyeing the four young nobilities, especially women. 'Ah, youth! ' Beom-seok sighed. "Silence!" Everyone went silent when a blue-haired man entered the hall. He's wearing a long suit and a monocle. "Is that Professor Hepher?" the girl beside Beom-seok gasped. 'Hepher, one of the famous professors of Mageia Academy, helped greatly with Elio's progress.'

"I am Professor Hepher, and I will guide you for today's examination. At exactly ten o'clock this morning, examinees will be taking the written examination. Room assignments were posted outside this hall. The written examination is divided into four parts, from theorem to application; each part consists of one hundred points; the total is four hundred points. The examination will end at one o'clock in the afternoon."

People inside the hall started whispering to each other, and Beom-seok saw Hepher's facial expression change. "I said silence!" At the roar of his voice, the whole hall was covered with ice. An ice attribute. "At three o'clock in the afternoon, examinees will be taking the practical examination. Moderators in each examination room will assist you after you have taken the written examination. That is all! I commend all of you for your courage and aspirations; may the elementals be with you." With that, Hepher retracted his ice attribute and went outside the hall. Everyone started to leave to see their room assignments, while others stayed and talked among their groups and peers. Beom-seok decided to leave the hall and look for his room assignment. Once he saw his room assignment, he left and went to the room.

It was exactly ten in the morning when the written examination started, and Beom-seok's goal was etched into his mind. 'Do not stand out, he said, nodding and starting to answer the questions. After the written examination, examinees were given a one-hour break before the start of the practical examination. Beom-seok, instead of eating, spent the one-hour break at the school's library. Despite not having an identification as a student of the academy, examinees were given a chance during the examination to visit the library.

"It's not a surprise for Prince Zoltar Arkin from the Jattir royal family to get a 399 over 200 score for the written examination." Ozul gave Zoltar's paper to Dusk. "Indeed, Professor Ozul. Brilliant!"

Keir nodded. "Pierce from the Enki household and Zephyr from the Zeru household's scores were not bad as well."

"Loch from the Beckett household's scores is also splendid.' Arachne announced while handing Loch's paper to the professors present in the room. "The other examinees were also good. However, I guess no one got a perfect score again." Dusk sighed.

"There's one." Hepher took his seat and handed an examination paper to Professor Dusk. "Elio Aenon," Dusk said out loud. "Who?" Ozul asked. "Elio Aenon," Hepher answered. "He's not related to any factions of nobility; he's a commoner, I guess." Keir deduced. Ribai chuckled, "This will be interesting." The professors could not help but gulp and tremble when they heard the Head Director's commentary.

"Professor Natrix, you were holding that test paper for the whole time. What's the matter?" Ribai asked. The professor's eyes head in Professor Natrix's direction, and Natrix cannot help but gasp in wonder: "He scored fifty in each of the four parts of the test." It's not a remarkable score, however; there's something about the paper that leaves Natrix in awe. "So, what's to it?" Dusk asked.

Natrix trembled with curiosity. "He only answered fifty items in each part of the test." The examinee did not finish the test, despite that fact, he answered each question correctly. Hepher stood and went to Natrix, his expression darkened. "Isid Haashatari," everyone went silent. Ribai, on the other hand, clapped his hands and laughed heartily. "Another interesting fellow."
