Chapter 7 - Cash Or Nothing

Ava's heart began to beat fast as she was scared of Robinson's man hurting her. She tried stepping away from him but he held her to himself.

"What's wrong girl? I said I want to give you a good time, or don't you want a good time?" The dirty-looking idiot asked her with a toothy grin. His breath smelled of cigarettes.

"No please, I only came to see Robinson, since he isn't around, please just let me go," Ava could no longer hide her fear, as she was now visibly shaking. Her eyes were darting around hoping someone would come out to save her. If this guy were to force himself on her, she stood no chance of defeating him because he was way stronger than she was. Her mind went back to when she was fourteen and the man her mother had pimped her out, was trying to force himself on her. Her savior back then was her father, but now, he was not around to save her. Ava almost broke into tears, but she knows that wasn't going to save her.

"God please, don't let him harm me." Ava prayed in her heart. She tried getting away from the guy, but his grip became even tighter.

"What do you want from me?" Ava asked as she continued to try getting away from him.

"Same thing that I've always wanted since I set my eyes on you, I want you to be mine." He saw the look of fear registered on Ava's face and he said, "don't worry, Robinson doesn't have to know. We are going to keep it a secret. I promise you I will take very good care of you," he had his eyes on Ava's breasts as he talked. Had the situation been different, Ava would have smacked him on his cheek. How dare he suggest such a thing? She would rather die than have herself sleeping with this guy that smelled like he hasn't had a shower in weeks. Not only was he ugly, but he was also dirty.

He brought down his lips and tried to kiss her, and Ava moved her head.

"I see you don't want it the easy way, you like it rough, don't you?" The bastard continued to grin.

"Please let me go!" Ava shouted, hoping someone would hear her voice and come to her rescue.

"You don't leave until I say so!" The guy was about to forcefully carry Ava on his shoulders when they heard a voice behind them.

"And what is going on here?" It was Robinson's voice. And the moment the guy heard him, he quickly let go of Ava.

Ava never thought there would ever be a day when she would be so happy to hear Robinson's voice. But she was, and she almost ran to hug him for showing up.

"Tan, how many times do I have to warn you about harassing my clients?" Robinson asked the guy who didn't look happy to see him.

"I wasn't harassing her boss," Tan lied.

"The next time this repeats itself, you would be gone! Do you understand?"

"Yes, boss,"

"Now get out of my sight before I shoot you!"

"Sorry boss," Tan mumbled as he scampered away.

Robinson turned to face Ava, "I'm sorry about that, I hope he didn't harm you?" He asked her.

"No, I'm okay," Ava managed to say. "I came to....">

Robinson interrupted Ava from what she wanted to say, "come with me to my office," he said.

Ava would have prepared they stepped outside to talk instead. But she followed him to his office anyway.

"My little flower," Robinson said as they entered his shabby-looking office. That was what he always called her. His flower.

"Robinson I....."

"Calm down, why the hurry? How about I pour you something to drink, whiskey?"

Ava shook her head, she just wanted to pay him his money and leave as soon as possible.

"Robinson, I am sorry I can't drink with you, I have to be at work," Ava said.

"Not even a little? Come on flower, you need to loosen up a little bit," Robinson tried to cajole Ava into drinking with him as he poured some whiskey into two separate glass cups but she refused.

"So what brings you here then? Have you changed your mind and decided to marry me?" Robinson asked smiling.

"I came here to pay you back the money that my mother owes you."

"Are you here to pay the interest like you always do?"

"I'm here to pay you everything," Ava said with boldness.

Robinson was a little taken aback by Ava's response. "You do realize how is everything right?"

"$12,000?"

"Yes my flower, twelve thousand dollars. Now that is no small money for you to have been able to come up with in less than two weeks, because you were begging me two weeks ago, to give you more time."

"Well, I have the money now. It doesn't matter to you how I got it."

"Hmm, I can see you are so sure of yourself. Where is the money? Let me see it."

"I didn't come with it in cash, give me your bank details and I would transfer the money to you."

"Tsk, tsk, no my flower," Robinson said shaking his head. "You should know by now that I don't operate that way. It's cash or nothing."

"But I don't have cash. You don't expect me to be carrying such an amount of money around in a neighborhood like this?"

"I'm sorry, flower, but that's how I do business. You'd have to go get the cash."
