"Thank you for helping me," Hazel said cheerfully when she ended the call and then hugged both Mary and Ann, which startled both of them, as they carefully hugged her back.
Needless to say, no matter how gentle they were toward Hazel, they were still shifters and way much stronger than her.
But then, it was not common to touch their luna in this way either.
The two of them were surprised, of course, because someone of her status shouldn't treat them like this, but deep down they were elated because their Luna treated them as her friends. It was something unheard for a monarch to not put their subjects at arm's length.
"But, Luna, you shouldn't hug us like this in front of Sullivan," Mary said, as they walked back to the bedroom before Hazel laid on the bed. This room felt so vacant and huge without Micah beside her. The bed was also too big for herself.
"Why?" Hazel didn't understand why she couldn't hug them casually in front of Sullivan.
