Not far from them, there was this huge manor that was untouched by fire, because the real nightmare was heading in that direction and it was in the form of a white lycan.
This huge white lycan led at least a thousand lycanthropes behind him that were ready for the real battle against the vampires and to get the daughter of the Alpha king back.
The little princess was kidnapped two days ago when the vampires managed to get into Hazel's room and killed her.
And now they would taste the wrath of the alpha king for the sins that they had committed. The look in the alpha's eyes would never be the same, everyone would shiver in his presence.
Even Jaxon, the royal beta, had a hard time talking to Micah. His advice was no longer heeded, since Micah knew what he would do and how he wanted this to end.
He would bring down both the races of vampires and lycanthropes for this last revenge. There was no mercy for them, even for their young ones.
Every time Jaxon tried to talk some sense into him, he would shut him down.
[So, this is it?] Archer, the royal gamma, mind- linked Jaxon, as they were in their beast's form. [See you in another life, then?]
The brown lycan tilted his head and threw a nasty glare at the smaller lycan beside him. [I don't wish to see you.]
The gray lycan whimpered when he felt the voice echo in his head. It was filled with annoyance. [Ugh, don't you love me anymore? I am your brother.] He complained.
Far from this manor, people were trying to save themselves, as the roads were so crowded with fire trucks, trying to put out the fire, as the sounds of screaming people and car horns added to the chaos.
Yet, no one was aware about the hundreds of lycanthropes running about around them, as they couldn't see them in their beast's form. This was one of the things that helped the shifters to hide their existence in this realm.
They went there to get all the vampires that tried to run away from this calamity. The one they brought upon themselves by messing around with the alpha king of the lycanthropes.
There would be more uproar than just being engulfed by flames that were burning down the city, if only they could see all those lycanthropes there.
The night sky had turned so bright, reflecting how much fire that those humans needed to fight off. It was impossible to save their houses or their valuables.
Meanwhile, the white lycan looked up to see the firebirds, soaring high in the sky and a deep, dangerous growl rumbled out from his chest, as he roared loudly and all hell broke loose.
All the beasts charged forward to get their share of the vampires. They were racing to kill as many vampires as they could get their hands on.
While you can see fear started to engrave on those blood sucker's faces, knowing that their end was near. They should have seen this coming.
The vampires and the lycans had never been on good terms for decades.
However, what their leader had done now was beyond imagination. It was an insult. An outrageous and deplorable sin that they had committed.
Tonight, it wouldn't be them, who would be out for blood, because the beasts were hunting them down…
======================
Every inch of this manor, including walls and ceiling, was coated in beasts' blood, while the vampires' body parts littered the ground, as proof of how bad the battle came down tonight.
Fire lit up this manor, as the firebird flew very low and let out a sad noise above the alpha's head when he held his daughter's body so close to him.
"Daddy, I feel so cold," the five year old little girl whimpered.
Micah failed again, he failed his beloved mate earlier and now he failed his precious daughter. No matter what he did, even the fact that he had won this battle and killed all the vampires, couldn't change the fact that he still lost his little princess.
"I am here, my little one, I got you." Micah gritted his teeth, his whole body was shaking badly, as his heart was torn open once again to see his dying daughter.
Micah pressed the wound on her small chest, as he could feel the beating of her heart grow weaker and weaker. She was a half shifter and at her age, her healing ability had not yet developed.
There was no way she could heal from this.
"Daddy, where are we…?" Her voice was very little. "I want to go home… are we at home?"
Micah felt as if a thousand hot knives stabbed straight into his heart when he had to lie to his daughter. "Yes, we are already at home."
"It's dark… is it night?"
"It's right, it is midnight."
However, at this moment, the warm light of the sunrise slowly illuminated the dreadful scene inside this room through the window.
"Oh… daddy, I love you."
"I love you too, Iris." Tears streamed down Micah's cheeks. He would give up anything, he would give up the world and kill anyone, or forsake his own kind, just to get his daughter back.
He wouldn't ask for much, he would kneel or lower himself, anything, just to get his daughter back.
He didn't want to be a king, or an alpha, or whatever, he just wanted to be a mate for Hazel and a father for Iris.
"Iris?"
And her heart stopped, though her blood kept seeping through Micah's fingers.
Micah remembered how Hazel would complain that he walked too fast and would get annoyed when he had to wait for her, but once Iris was here, the alpha didn't mind waiting for her, he would walk beside her no matter how slow she was.
And that was the only time Hazel could outrun him.
Micah was there when Iris took her first step and now he was also here when she breathed her last…
