Chapter 7 - Start The Race For Rank A

"How are you doing on this fine day, Lyne." Aran greets from behind her bedroom door.

"Why are you wasting your time talking to a killer like me," Lyne replied in a detest tone.

After Lyne learned of the crimes she committed under her master's control, she has come to resent herself, accepting any punishment the kingdom deemed necessary but considering her being under the dominion contract all charges against her drop, as Aran took the opportunity to take her under his care with the Elliot and the Princess permission.

"You know you do not have to stay cooped up in this dark room all day, you can come outside and enjoy this lovely day."

"I am good you shouldn't worry about me."

She is really taking this self-repent thing seriously she will not eat much are even come outside, I do not know what to do if this was Kingdom World Raid defeating her would lead to unlocking her but in this life, it's not so simple.

"Alright, Lyne I will talk to you later," Aran exclaimed with a smile.

Why does he always visit me does he not understand a commoner and criminal like me, even taking me under his wing I just don't understand.

Lyne bites the bottom of her lip as she lays on the bed deep in thought.

"This must be the adventure's guild, hopefully, they will have some useful info," Aran concludes stand Infront of a dull red building with the insignia of a man striking a monster.

Entering The rambunctious atmosphere of the guild with some adventures enjoying a warm morning beer filling the air with an intoxicating Odors common during the morning.

It was as if a sheep had entered a lion's den as a hush came upon the whole building with stares shot toward Aran as he made his way to the receptionist counter.

"How may I help you today sir?" a disinterested voice asked.

"I am here to gather information on the slave trade in this city," Aran said in the most exasperated accent he could muster.

I always dreamt of visiting an adventure and asking for information or even accepting quests that would push me to the limit.

The Receptionist interrupts Aran's inner monologue, "That information is confidential and only S-A Rank adventurers can access it."

"What!!"

Heads turn to Aran as he scratches the nape of his neck, with an embarrassed grin.

How could she lie to me, telling me that information from the guild is free for anyone, what kind of Princess does that the hero she summoned.

(Meedale city- Castle)

"Why did you lie to him, Princess Mira," Elliot asks as he stands next to the throne.

"This is what he gets for eating out all my favorite Carmel drizzled chocolate cake dessert that is just evil," Mira replied in a childish tone.

"So that was all for revenge."

"Plus he should consider joining the guild it may come in handy."

"Okay, now I understand Princess," Elliot answered after a sigh of relief.

I have joined the guild, but they only gave me rank E even though I said I was the summon hero, nothing I can do now just got to clear some quest to raise my rank as fast as possible.

Talon king Rank A

Reward 500 Gold Coins

This quest should be good enough to raise my rank a couple of notches, then I get the information to reignite my search.

"You are unable to accept quests higher than your, rank unless you are joined by an adventurer of that rank."

Those words cause Aran's shoulder to slump, nowhere like a knight in armor coming to save the princess a voice spoke up.

"I don't mind taking this boy here with me on this quest." the voice reminded Aran of the wild west shows he would watch when he was small.

"Mr. Ray you are back from your adventure, I will get your reward just wait here."

What is with the change of voice just a minute ago you sound like you did care for a word I said?

"Thanks, Sir, for joining me on this quest."

"It's nothing kid, I was just interested in how strong the summoned hero is."

"How do you know I am the hero?"

"Through my sources, that's how I also know you ar' run around the city trying to extinguish the slave trade shouldn't you be focusing on other matters like the Vicerin Empire's future encroaching attack." The man stated with a serious gaze.

"If I can't help the Princess with the side-quest of diminishing the crime, hunger, and suffering how can I possibly be able to do so for the entire kingdom" Aran pointed out as he stares back into the man's eyes with a smirk.

"If you so kid, the name is Ray Miclod you can call me Ray."

The tension between the two cleared as they exchange greetings.

Ray stood tall laced with scars showing his high battle experience with worn-out Armour which struggled to hide his defined muscles.

"Sorry for the wait, here is your 200 Gold Mr. Ray, and your request for the Talon King has been accepted."

Aran and Ray left for the Talon king's Den which was at the summit of Origin Peak 25km taking them just under 5 hours to reach as the sun began to set.

"So, kid what is the world you are from like?" Ray asks throwing a piece of wood into the illuminating flame.

"The world I am from is different from this one in many ways, we don't have monsters but animals which are tamer than monsters, and our world is only filled with humans and not any other race species..." Aran began to recount all the marvels of his old world.

"It sounds like an advanced and peaceful place you must feel homesick ain't you kid."

"Not really, I chose to come to this world in search of a challenge that will ignite that fire in me." Aran resolves with a calm and apathetic.

"We best get to sleep that beast is going to be a handful."

They reached the peak by Afternoon, treating them to a breathtaking view of the city with nature treating their eyes to the surrounding green areas with the glimmering lake not far out of sight.

"What is the smoke rising from the east?"

"That is the Dragonkin territory, there seems to be commotion there judging by the smoke patterns."

I wonder what's going on there if the empire has found a way to get through their territory, our time is shorter than I thought.

"Heads up kid we got a live one here!!" Ray shouts snapping Aran out of his thoughts.

The Talon King was a massive bird-like creature with talons as sharp as diamonds screeching loudly at the two intruders standing before it.

"This should be fun!!"
