Chapter 4: The Overpowered AwakeningThe village lay under a blanket of silence, broken only by the soft rustle of leaves in the wind. The nights had grown darker, colder. Every evening, the howls from the forest seemed to get closer, echoing through the trees like the threat of something watching us from the shadows. But tonight, I wasn't scared. I was ready. Whatever was out there, I was going to handle it.
Lira and the others had gathered for a night patrol. The village needed protection, and I was their best hope. My new abilities felt like a weapon forged from a world beyond their comprehension. To them, I was an outsider—someone who had come out of nowhere, someone whose past was shrouded in mystery. But what they didn't know was that I was far from normal.
I wasn't just some guy with a bit of magic; I was a force in this world. A being of power that could tear apart mountains if I so desired. My trials had given me the skills, the stats, and the abilities that turned me into something beyond human. And tonight, I would prove it.

"Red," Lira said, her voice tight with concern as she looked over at me. "We're heading into dangerous territory. Stay sharp."
I grinned. "I'm always sharp."
She didn't seem comforted by my words, but that was fine. It wasn't about comfort—it was about survival. And I was going to make sure we survived.
As we trudged deeper into the forest, I could feel it. The weight of the air shifted, a faint chill running through the trees. Something was watching us, waiting. My Magic Eye flared to life as I scanned the surroundings. There—movement in the shadows.
The ground trembled slightly. Something big was coming.
I wasn't sure if Lira and the others could sense it, but I could. I could hear the heavy breathing, the crackling of leaves as massive feet stomped through the forest. Whatever was out there, it was strong. Too strong for any normal person to face.
I raised a hand, signaling for the group to stop.
"There's something out there," I muttered. "Stay back."
Lira nodded, drawing her sword, her eyes scanning the trees.
Suddenly, a giant creature burst out from the shadows—a grotesque, hulking beast. It was twice the size of a bear, its skin gray and mottled, with jagged claws as long as a man's arm. It bellowed, roaring like a wild animal on the hunt.
The villagers froze, their eyes wide with fear.
I could feel the power surging in my body, an instinct that thrummed beneath my skin. This wasn't even a challenge.
I stepped forward, raising a hand. My Mana Regeneration was already working overtime, replenishing my energy before I even began. I called upon Elemental Magic, my hand glowing with crackling energy as I summoned Fire Magic. The flames roared to life, wrapping around my palm like a hungry serpent.
"Move aside," I said calmly to Lira, who was already standing in a defensive stance. She hesitated for a moment but then stepped back.
The beast charged, its massive claws outstretched.
I didn't even flinch.
With a casual flick of my wrist, I released a fireball—no, not just a fireball. A firestorm.
The fireball shot forward, expanding into a massive inferno as it slammed into the beast's chest. The explosion of flames erupted with a force that rattled the trees around us. The beast was consumed in the blaze, its monstrous form writhing in agony.
I didn't even give it a second to scream. I snapped my fingers, and the firestorm expanded, engulfing the beast completely.
The air smelled like burnt flesh and smoke. I lowered my hand, feeling the heat dissipate as the fire died down.
When the smoke cleared, nothing remained of the creature except smoldering ash.
The villagers stared at me in complete silence, disbelief written across their faces. They'd never seen anything like that before.
"Is it… dead?" one of them whispered, his voice trembling.
"Don't worry," I said, barely even winded. "It won't be coming back."
I checked my Status to make sure I hadn't overused my mana. The numbers were high as ever. I had more power than I could ever need. But it felt so easy, almost effortless. Like I was barely scratching the surface of my potential.
Lira finally broke the silence, her voice low and amazed. "Red, that was… that was incredible. You—"
Before she could finish, a low growl echoed from deeper within the forest. And then another. And another.
The ground trembled again, and this time, it wasn't just one creature. The shadows began to shift and move, and I could feel dozens of eyes watching us from the trees.
"What are they?" Lira asked, her sword now gripped tightly in her hands.
I smiled. "More targets."
With that, I raised both hands, summoning the full force of my Elemental Magic. A wave of energy surged from me, shaking the very ground. Lightning crackled from my fingertips, and a ball of water materialized beside me, swirling with power. I summoned wind to carry the electricity, and dark energy to shroud us all.
"Let's finish this," I said simply.
The first monster appeared—a massive, three-headed wolf with claws like blades and teeth like daggers. It lunged at us, but I was already moving. I snapped my fingers and the wolf was hit with a Thunderstorm. A barrage of lightning bolts fell from the sky, striking it from every angle. The wolf howled in pain, its fur sizzling, but it wasn't enough to stop it.
I teleported behind it, appearing in an instant, and slammed my fist into its spine, shattering bone and muscle with ease. It collapsed, dead before it even hit the ground.
The next one was a giant spider, its legs taller than any man. It screeched as it pounced, but again, I was faster. A Void Magic portal opened beneath it, and I sent the spider falling through. It disappeared into the void, never to return.
The others weren't even close to being a challenge. I mowed through them like they were nothing. Every monster that came at me fell without even a hint of struggle. It wasn't even fun.
After the last of them was vanquished, I looked up to see Lira and the others staring at me with wide eyes, their faces a mixture of awe and fear.
"I told you," I said, dusting my hands off. "It's easy."
Lira swallowed, her voice shaky. "I… I didn't think anyone could be so powerful. Red, you're…"
"Different?" I finished for her. "Yeah, I guess I am."
I turned back toward the village, my stride unhurried, the air around me still crackling with leftover magic.
Whatever was coming, I was ready. And this world? It was mine for the taking
