Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

A life ending, that's what I want. Is life fair? If so, why am I living like this?

Seeing my parents fight just because of some petty money is ridiculous. How could they fight over nonsense when they swore they would loved each other until death? I just can't understand the rules of this world.

Everything's just fine until that day. My father is a hard-working person who built his own business company through ups and down but in the end he was betrayed by his trusted secretary which leads to transfer of rights of the company. He sold the company's name and building to someone . Thinking about it, my father was naive when he signed the papers without confirming it as he trusted him, as if he's not capable of betrayal. Just thinking about it pisses me off.

Just how far one's naivety can go on? Life sucks, that's how I view this meaningless life.

Sitting in a couch while scrolling through my phone and listening to my older brother and sister bickering to each other is just a normal day for us.

"just lend me a 50 dollar"

"why would I lend my precious money to you if you'll just eat it out with your girlfriends!"

" oh c'mon, just this one. I promise to give it back tomorrow"

"oh c'mon, we knew that you never paid back what you loaned" my sister said, mimicking brother's tone.

" you're one to talk, who got a dozens of boyfriend to play around " my older brother taunted her. That statement hit a nerve and she throws the remote control which my brother dodged and it hit my head instead.

The TV got switch on due to the impact when it landed on the floor. The room broke in silence. They stared at each other, and blame could see in their gaze.

I stand and slowly pick up the remote control. I turned off the TV and looked at them.

"what the hell! , you're just the same, there's no point in arguing, why can't you just stay low and enjoy your poor life, huh? Those damned girlfriends and boyfriends of yours are just a piece of shits. You idiots!" my voice echoed at the four corner of the room. I stormed at my room after I said those crap, leaving the two of them in awe.

I change my clothes to a hood and a jump suit, when I step outside of my room. They're standing in front of me , looking at me.

" Lend us some money." They said in unison and hand out their hands. I look at them with disbelief.

" Pissed off! " I shouted at them then I rushed towards the door and slammed it close.

I walk in alleyways thinking about nothing. As I walk, I stumbled upon a child who was crying, she looks like in the age of 4.

"hey kid. Out of my way!" I demanded and she cried out loud.

What the heck, what a good start of the day. Why is this damn day so mess up?

I crouch down to level her eye sight, she stared at me with fright.

"Let me see your hand." Though she's afraid she still handed it out. I slap her hand a bit and she hold back her tears. I give her my lollipop which I carry around all the time but then I was smacked by a soccer ball.

" What are you doing to my girlfriend?" a boy asked confidently, I think they're at the same age, maybe childhood friends. How good it is to have a young and healthy relationship.

"Take care of your girlfriend, little boy." I pat her head as I stand which irritates him so I stride back to my hopeless place.

This world had nothing special nonetheless it is full of void of complexity. The air I breathe, the land I stand, the water I use, the family and the current situation I have are not solely given to me, they're all shared and maintained. There's nothing in this world that is solely for me.

Instead of going home right away, I stop at the nearest convenience store where I work part-time.

" Welcome, how's your day?" he greeted as soon as he heard the chime.

He's Calyx Irish, a soft hearted guy and at the same time a cheeky guy.

"My days are always great, how about yours?" I asked him back.

" Not as great as yours." He said with a smirk on his face.

"Spill the beans." I replied as I was irritated on his indirect remarks.

"It was just a minute ago, some gangsters pick a fight on some tall guy and they hit me when I tried to stop them. They even threaten to beat me up if they can't catch that tall guy." He said in a melancholic way as if he carries the world.

"Aren't you lucky? You got a chance to fight."

"I'm not like someone I know who got excited in fights!"

*chime*

The two child I saw earlier rushed in, they're pale and look terrified. Calyx welcomed them while I headed to the vending machine.

" How can I help you, kids?" Calyx asked them.

" There are some guys who's chasing us." The girl pointed the back alley of a restaurant, 2 blocks away from the convenience store.

The sound of the vending machine brought silence. A group of six people are approaching them. Calyx turned pale then he look at me. What the hell? I give him a look saying 'I'm not in the mood for fight'. He sighed and give me a puppy look, I just rolled my eyes at him and open my canned drink.

" We finally catch up, little kids. And look who's here? Aren't you lucky enough, Mr. Cashier to meet us again this soon?" the guy with a messy suit smirk. I sat at the floor and lean against toward the vending machine while enjoying my drink and the show.

" I called the police, aren't you supposedly running away with your tails tuck between your legs?" Calyx step out the counter and protected the two child at his back.

He talks like he's a big guy who can fight but he's nowhere near like that. He once glance at me, as if asking me if I'm sure that I won't help him but then I just shrugged. Or that's what I thought I should do when one of the guys walk in front of me then kicked one of my leg.
