Alaia could feel her heart wildly beating against her chest. She was nervous. She was excited. Not only with the fact that she will get to kiss Maria again, but with the possibility of her returning to being a human. She couldn't wait to hold and hug Maria with her human body. She was already starting to think about what she would do if she had finally returned to being a human. She couldn't wait for this curse to be over. She couldn't wait for this nightmare to be over.
Alaia's hands on Maria's cheeks were trembling. Maria was showing no resistance. Maria was just staring at her eyes, losing herself in the deepness of Alaia's forest-green eyes. The distance between their lips was only a couple of millimeters. Alaia had already had enough of it. She was about to conquer that distance and meet Maria's lips but Maria lowered her head, making Alaia step back instead. While holding the side of her head, Maria grunted in pain with her closed eyes.
