Maria felt like her world came crashing down on her. Her heart ached at the sight. Her hands tremble in horror. She can't breathe. She was not the one who was wounded and in a terrible condition, and yet she felt like she was being strangled to death. She couldn't breathe, speak or even move. She could feel her hot tears pooling in her eyes, making her vision blurry.
What happened? Who did this? Is she fine? Is Alaia okay? Is Alaia still alive?
"Your Highness." Leo called, more like a beg, begging for Alaia to open her eyes. Despite his hazy vision, intense pain from his wounds, and heavy feet, Leo started walking toward her.
"Your Highness." Leo again called, cupping her cheeks that were wet with blood. Leo saw how deep the cut was on Alaia's cheek and he was horrified at the sight.
