I cut the call as soon as Juan told me the news. But before I did that, I instructed him not to tell anyone about it. It was a top secret, something that shouldn't be shared with anyone at all. If anyone was to inform Ariana about what had happened, it should be me and no one else.
As I sat in my car in silence, my mind flashed back to the moments I spent with Ariana's parents. They were just like my parents, bubbly, cheerful and always full of smiles. They accepted me immediately like they had known me before.
The fear I had concerning meeting them vanished as soon as they accepted me. They were one of the nicest people I've ever met and something like this should never have happened to them.
