The next morning, the school was restless. As Arianna walked through the halls, she had no idea why this was so. She made her way to the locker room, depositing her bag and books before making her way to her first class.
On her way, she met Emily who was to attend another class.
"What's happening?", Arianna asked.
"You haven't heard. Brandon's been released, he's at the principal's office. Apparently, the gist is that the real murderer was caught yesterday while trying to escape the city. Brandon's off the hook", Emily said.
"That's good. At least, we're not going to school with a murderer", Arianna said.
"Honestly. I have to run now babe, I'm running late. See you and oh, Leslie's coming back tomorrow".
"Yeah, she called me yesterday. See ya", Arianna said.
On getting to class, Brandon was already seated in his usual seat at the back of the class. Richie and his friends crowded round him, no doubt trying to scoop for gist.
