Today is the day Bai Lu's hut is finally finished. Making a list of everyone's food preferences, Bai Lu and her friends started to prepare for the celebration party early in the morning.
Kruger hunted some fresh meat for the barbecue, juvenile moas in particular — no one would not enjoy this kind of tender meat, while Bai Lu went to the bush to collect some sour fruit with Kirra and Bindi. Marlee and her mate decided to pick some branches as roasting sticks. Bai Lu even found a kind of spice that looks and tastes like sweet ginger, not only can eat in raw as a refreshment for their mouth but it can be squeezed on the meat to eliminate the greasiness of the meat.
All the preparations were almost done at noon, but Duncan still didn't show up. This is unusual: he always came to the hut right after sunrise on the previous days, and he would have already been here and working with others today as well.
