Haisel was very confident in his attacks. Being the fastest of the three commanders of Dragon Star, he had the reason for his arrogance.
Even among the Bear bastards, Haisel can claim that he would be able to outpace any of their commanders.
This was why he didn't think much of Girium's warning.
He even considered Zig stupid for stopping under Girium's threat.
Girium was someone who had only walked slowly till now. Even while he defeated his men, he didn't move much, which gave Haisel a certain understanding of what kind of person Girium was and where his specialty lay.
And he knew that even after obtaining a God Construct, it takes a while before someone can fully use its power. Which meant that he was safe for what he was about to do.
This was how he lived. And an opportunity where he can kill or even harm Zig comes rarely.
If he succeeds, the power vacuum created after his death would weaken the Bear bastards and it might even cause a revival of confidence in the men under DragonStar.
So he has to succeed.
'Thank you, Giant.' He thought while shooting at Zig's head with a revolver.
And as expected, Zig was so shocked under the warning of Girium that he didn't even notice the gun.
And when an arc bullet leaves the gun, no one below the Master level can stop it.
Or so what Haisel thought.
But Girium, who had been forty meters away from them suddenly appeared in front of Haisel's body. Which was followed by the two booming sounds.
One was a lot more metallic and the other sounded like the eruption of a volcano.
Because it was.
And it was caused by the simple gesture of Girium dashing from his original place and reaching in front of Haisel, stopping his bullet with a simple flick like before, as well.
"I told you to stop," Girium said, looking at the puny man who seemed to be drunk on his success not so long ago.
He has met people like this, the cowards that would harm others at any opportunity they can get.
This kind of person was someone he hated the most.
"Sorr…" And Haisel knew he fucked up.
The man in front of him was dangerous. Way more dangerous than he expected.
He wanted to back off, but he saw his foot stuck in place by Girium, who placed his right foot over his.
On the side, Zig sweated hard.
He just understood the kind of mistake he had made.
He put his guard down the moment he heard Girium's words. Which told enough of the stress he was under due to the presence of Girium.
The kind of stress he was not even aware of.
And this kind of mistake might have ended his life today. If not for Girium, that is.
'He is strong… Teerath was right.'
"Sorry won't help you now." Girium looked at the pleading face of Haisel and lifted his spear.
He knows what kind of punishment to give people like this.
"Don't do this… You don't know who I…"
"Don't know, don't care." And then he hit him, causing Haisel's body to flow into the air and smash into trees, breaking them in the way.
And after the body of Haisel disappeared from his vision under the falling trees. Girium lifted his foot, which had a broken leg under it.
A scene that shocked Zig and the DragonStar goons who were standing on the side with their hands up under the guns of Zig's men.
"Did you kill him?" Zig asked, wondering if this is the end of a year-long rivalry he had with Haisel.
But Girium just shook his head in denial. "I don't kill." He said.
Which seemed light on the first hearing. But when the men surrounding Girium recalled the broken leg beside him. They understood what kind of man Girium was.
'Should have just killed him.'
They thought. Zig even felt bad for his rival, who was so obsessed with his speed.
Now that guy won't even be able to run in his life which was a fate crueler than death.
He didn't even know if Girium did this out of irony or just accidentally. But Zig understood one thing. He would never want to be at the end of that stick.
'No, it's a spear.'
"Let's go," Girium mentioned, as he slowly walked toward the fallen car and turned it right.
After which he silently climbed on its back.
His actions are more telling than words.
"What should we do with these guys?" Teerath wondered. He already knew the bloodlust his men felt against their attackers and if not for the fear of attracting Girium's attention, they would have shot all these men in the head.
And seeing the shaken face of Zig, he knew that his boss was not in the right state of mind to give orders.
Because if one forgets about Zig's strength and ranking. He was still someone in his mid-twenties. Unlike Teerath, Zig lacked experience when dealing with someone stronger than him.
The only one he was close to was his boss. And that boss would rarely show her might in front of her men.
Making Zig's mental state a lot more fragile than one might expect that someone in his position would have.
Not to mention, the strength that Girium showed, along with his brutality shocked the young man.
'Can't blame him… I didn't expect him to be this strong.'
Teerath thought as he looked at the large crater in the middle of the battlefield.
This was where Girium dashed from. This crater was formed just because Girium took one step.
"Break their right hand and let them go," Teerath ordered his men.
Even though he knew the desire for revenge his men were feeling. This was not the right time for that. Behind them stood a beast who was looking forward to a death battle with their boss.
And this beast, for some reason. Didn't like to kill.
"Boss, we should leave. There may be others from DragonStar nearby." Teeerath explained after approaching Zig, who still stood in his place, looking at the leg of his rival.
"Do you think it would make a difference with that thing behind us?" Zig said, looking at Teerath with blank eyes.
"So if you know this, then you should also know to not make that thing wait." Teerath pointed out.
The only way they can feel safe now is if the big boss of Bear Bastards came to their rescue.
And Zig understood this as well.
They need to get to their headquarters as fast as they can.
*****
Girium felt happy that these men understood him so well.
He didn't wish to waste much time. His body's high metabolism was already dealing with the damage he sustained while destroying the God construct from before. So by the time he reaches their boss. He would be at 100%.
As for whether he dies at the end. He didn't know.
For someone who has hit his limits for a year now, learning the true strength of those God construct holders would tell him where he stands in the world.
And if he turns out to be on the weaker side. It would mean that this was it.
It was not like he was getting any stronger.
What he could achieve on his own, he has achieved.
'Hmm… resignation?' Girium thought as he saw the downward faces of the men coming back to the jeeps and they started to handle their dead and injured first.
He saw them leave their enemies alive and he understood the reasoning behind it as well.
They did it in fear of him.
They thought he would be angered over these people's death.
But Girium was not that kind of man. He didn't mind what Teerath's men did. He just didn't like killing people himself.
A bit hypocritical. But that was the gist of it. This was who he was. And whether he would stay the same would depend on him.
But there would still be times when he would be left speechless by the actions of those around him.
"Can we sit here? Our jeeps were destroyed before."
Looking at the injured men who were begging to be let on to their vehicle. Girium didn't know what to say.
So he just moved aside, gesturing to them to get on with his head.
His face neither held anger nor annoyance, he was just curious about what went on the mind of these men when they did this.
But this desire to learn their reason would never be fulfilled. As these men didn't speak a thing while sitting huddled together far from Girium.
He can even see some other Jeeps filled to the brim.
"Hmm." But he didn't say anything. Let them do whatever they want, if they wish to travel like that, then it's their own will.
"Let's move from here," Teerath ordered while glaring at the DragonStar men who were taking the injured Haisel away from this place.
Teerath knew that if he followed these men. Then he might get hold of the vehicle they came herewith.
But he didn't do this. Wasting time here didn't sit well with him.
'You were lucky today.' Teerath thought, not to the Dragonstar men, but himself.
