Kahn was shocked. Was a single crystal this effective? He turned Leo back into a bracelet and noticed there was a chain extension that wrapped around his wrist, though it was short.
"You live this time Leo, you live this time." Kahn looked full of excitement.
Leo just let out a chuckle.
"Let's get back to hunting. We need at least another goblin." Kahn didn't want to return home without any gains. He is in a bad condition but Leo's versatility should be able to cover for that.
Kahn started wandering around, his eyes darting around the forest like a predator.
After hours of searching, he noticed a beam of light appear in front of him.
Startled, Kahn jumped backwards and turned Leo into a machete again. He waites for a couple minutes in defensive stance before deciding to hide and wait it out.
Kahn climbed a tree within 5 meters of the light and started waiting.
10 Minutes passed without anything happening. While Kahn was messing around by using Leo's dagger form to scratch his name on the tree out of boredom, the light finally dimmed down and eventually died. Kahn looked down to see a goblin standing where the light used to be.
'What the hell was that? I haven't heard of such a thing before!' Kahn whispered to Leo
'Well they needed to enter the tower somehow. How dumb can you be?'
Kahn's jaw dropped, was this implying that monsters were from outside the tower? Maybe from other worlds. And most importantly, were they kidnapped here?
He shook his head, he had no time for this. He turned Leo into a spear and threw him at the goblin.
Leo Went through the goblin's shoulder and the tip was barely visible in front of the goblin. Goblin started screaming in pain. Seeing the opportunity, Kahn tried calling Leo back and jump down with a kick at the same time. Leo didn't respond to Kahn's calling but it didn't matter as Kahn kicked the goblin down. He grabbed Leo and repeatedly stabbed the downed goblin, brutal.
"Okay this is strange for sure. I killed 2 goblins, people say that they leveled up after killing 1 goblin on the news, why did I still not level up from 2 goblins?!" Kahn was mad.
"Hey hey, you still have me, the ultimate weapon. Even if you can't level up, does it even matter when your sword is sharp enogh to cut the sun and the moon?" Leo was the one doing the comforting this time. Kahn was still down, but he smiled and turned Leo into a dagger again.
This time Leo kept his mouth shut and let Kahn take the core of the goblin. They decided to go back home after selling the core.
Kahn started walking over to the middle of Floor 1, a giant marketplace to sell his White Monster Core (Tiny). He eventually found his way into The Huntsman, a place where monster goods are sold and bought for. It's the most popular shop in floor 1. Kahn went in to sell his core.
He was greeted by a girl that had a black long ponytail.
"Hello! What would you like to buy or sell?" It was obvious how many times she had to say this line
"I have a tiny white core thag I want to sell." Kahn reached to his pockets and took out the marble sized core.
"So how much is it?" Kahn knew that if it all went right, he wouldn't have to work for a week.
The girl smiled, this time it felt genuine.
"Always a pleasure to see new hunters." She put the core in a scale looking device and handed Kahn the money, roughly 12,000 Tahn. The tower had it's own currency. And once you enter, you can never leave the tower.
"Looks like I'll be coming here a lot." He had a grin on his face.
"Sure hope so, maybe you'll be the one to clear the 5th floor." She chuckled
Leo started laughing really loudly, but to Kahn's surprise, nobody seemed to hear it. Weird.
"Well, see you tomorrow!" Kahn left and the girl waved him goodbye.
Kahn left for his house. He was grinning like a villain.
'With this, I can even pay my debt!' Kahn had a huge debt he owed to loan sharks. He borrowed way to
Kahn arrived at his home, took a cold shower and collapsed on the bed.
"You fought a single goblin you drama queen get up." Leo seemed annoyed at his master's weakness.
"But I fought two gob-"
"You KILLED two goblins, the latter one is almost a hate crime." Leo interrupted his master.
"Ugh, I can't deal with this right now." Kahn got up, turned Leo into a dagger.
"What are you even doing?"
...
Kahn put Leo in his drawer and closed it. The room was much quieter, though Leo's muffled were still there.
...
Kahn woke up after a good night's sleep. He got a glass of water, while drinking the watwr, he noticed that Leo was on his wrist as a bracelet again. He didn't question it.
'Must be a fail safe or something. after all, what's the point of a skill if someone can simply steal it.'
"A new day a new hunt." Kahn walked out the door.
Leo was silent. Maybe he was too hard on him.
"Don't be like that Leo, I'll give the first core to you." Leo was still silent.
Kahn was concerned now, was Leo actually there? He imagined the dagger shape he left Leo as.
The bracelet immediately turned into a dagger.
Gasping for air, Leo said "Dont ever forget about mw you weak piece o-"
Kahn fell silent while on the way to the forest.
'Was Leo not with me? And he was gasping for air, even though daggers don't breathe. Was he in some sort of sleep mode?'
While he was questioning his skill, he got punched in the jaw. The man who punched him had silver hair tied into a spiky pony tail and a slim but slightly muscular body. His striking brown eyes struck fear into anyone who dared to even look at them.
"Hey hey, stop thinking so hard are you trying to lift a car or something?"
"I still have 2 more day-" Kahn was kicked in the stomach this time.
"You HAD 2 more days, situation has changed. We are going to war and need immediate funding. So cough up."
Kahn slowly got up and handed the money he earned by risking his life with shaky hands.
"Thank you for understanding, and I apologise for this." The man turned his back on Kahn and strted walking away.
Kahn felt a weird power surging through his body, furious, he imagined a bow.
"Master no! Don't do it!" Leo was trying to stop his master. Kahn was hearing none of it.
Kahn used Leo as a bow and shot an arrow directly at the heart of the young man.
The arrow was going twice the speed of a regular arrow. The young man who wasn't expecting this barely had the time to dodge. He tried to move out of the way but he got shot on his arm.
'Huh?! How is this coward doing this?!' The man thought. He was shocked as this coward pulled a bow out of thin air and even shot a D rank.
"Raaaay!" An ear piercing scream echoed throughout the street, Kahn was yelling at the young man with Leo turned into a machete.
Kahn rushed at Ray and swung his machete. Ray however, had no difficulty kicking away the arm holding the machete. Ray was on guard, but he was distracted after sensing magical remains both on Kahn and on the roof of a nearby shop. Kahn used this opportunity and turned Leo into a dagger. Without missing a beat, he stabbed Ray in his left leg.
"Kugh!" Ray fell on his knees. Kahn was about to finish the job. He swung his machete. Ray closed his eyes.
...
...
Nothing happened? Ray opened one of his eyes, Kahn was standing there, weaponless.
They were both confused. Leo forcibly turned into a bracelet to protect his master. Seeing the chance, Ray kicked upwards and hit Kahn's chin. Kahn was launched backwards and hit the ground. Before he did, Ray noticed a red and black aura leave Kahn's body. Kahn was unconscious.
