Chapter 5 - Duel

Melissa POV.

After this imbecile girl's sudden defiance, we went to the throne room to discuss the terms of battle.

"I want a fair battle, with the right of the participant to be able to use all his powers"

"I have to decline, with all due respect Miss Lunda, but your experience in battle does not seem to be on the same level as Melissa"

Amelia intervened.

"But isn't that what this competition is for, exchange of experiences among our children?"

Amatarasu asked.

"I agree with you miss, besides, I can't believe I possess so much less experience than Melissa"

"Do you think you can beat Melissa?"

Amatarasu asked in a haughty tone.

"Yes, with proper strategy, obviously"

This girl was bold enough to challenge me in front of my father and now she is implying that she can defeat me even in these absurd terms.

"I wouldn't be so arrogant if I were you, a sidekick of the hero"

I responded directly to this little girl, I can't let this cheap offense go.

"Our last fight you took me by surprise, this one will be different"

"I wouldn't put that as a surprise attack, I gave you enough time to prepare, your friend interfered and you still come out the winner"

"Your sword has unknown properties, obviously I didn't foresee that"

"I would use a better excuse if I were you"

This girl is making up meaningless reasons not to admit defeat.

"This sword of yours made by your father assured you of victory, I am sure that without it you would not win"

"Let's calm down, Melissa, please stop, Lunda, I know you are strong, I will trust your judgment until further notice"

My father said.

"Sorry dad

DROGA, because of her I was reprimanded.

"Take that anger of yours and put it into battle, humiliate her"

Whispered Amatarasu to me.

My stepmother didn't have to say that, I will be sure to humiliate this girl in front of everyone.

"If possible, I request my friend's presence in this battle"

"How?"

Amelia asked.

"A battle of doubles..."

"Denied, this is a battle between two people, none of my other children will get involved in this"

My father said immediately.

"I don't think so, with all due respect, Isaac provided the arena"

"E?"

"I believe he has something to settle with that battle"

"Did my son just follow a protocol, or did you want a street fight with my daughter?"

"No sir"

Hihi she thought my father would accept all her terms, poor thing.

The main rule was established, and the others followed the pattern, no killing, serious injuries will be handled by Amelia, etc.

Isaac was responsible for creating the arena, which this time was more organized and cleaner, as it would have our father's presence.

I entered the arena with the girl.

"Are you sure you want to continue this battle without the hero's presence?"

"I've never been more right"

I draw a wooden sword and reinforce it with magic while leaving my beloved sword at my waist, I want to humiliate her in the worst possible way.

A/N {even though she is so strong, Melissa has a very childish personality, which can cost her a lot}

"Are you going to fight with that sword? You can draw the one at your waist."

Said the girl as she removed her sword from its sheath, the girl used a thin sword.

A/N {Lunda uses a fencing-like sword, while Melissa's is a sword with a wild design}

"I won't need that.

"So be it then"

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN"

As soon as it was announced, the girl tried to strike a blow on my head to no avail, I deflected and threw her away.

She managed to recover quickly and cast a spell with her sword, a cut invisible to ordinary eyes, but not to mine came straight at me.

I swerved and went toward the girl, she seemed to want to keep her distance for some reason.

She exchanged a few blows every time I came close and she moved away from me.

"Are you going to be dodging all day?"

"See how bad it is when it's someone else doing the same thing hahaha"

This girl is mocking me again.

I tried to strike a blow, but this time with mana built into the sword.

A/N {Lunda made Melissa not use her sword but a wooden one, which is much inferior, for this and another reason she is managing to hold her own in battle}

This time she didn't back down; on the contrary, she exchanged blows with me.

"What's the matter Melissa, are you going to lose in front of your father anyway?"

Damn, I don't understand this sudden gain in strength, this girl has completely changed.

I kept up the pace with more mana this time, the wooden sword is being pushed to its limit even with my reinforcement magic.

At this rate I will have to use my sword, I need to hurry and defeat her first.

Crack

A crack appeared in the wood.

"ieró xífos"

The girl enchanted her sword and struck a direct blow, all I could do was defend myself with my wooden sword, but this broke her for good, her next blow will be the ultimate one.

"ierí lámpsi"

As I imagined, this time I have no choice but to use my sword, it will hurt my pride, but it is better than defeat.

I removed my sword from my waist and prepared for the impact, but it didn't come, all I saw was a glow that turned into a figure with wings and went straight to my father.

The creature struck my father directly in the face, but didn't even scratch him; a few thousandths later, my father disappeared.

When he returned, the sound of an explosion could be heard far away, and even though it was the remains of magic, it was strong enough to surprise everyone in the audience of the Uryburg kingdom.

My father cast a spell to protect them, as soon as he noticed that they could not do it on their own.

'How strong was the spell he cast to leave that noise behind'

A/n {using the destruction graph of a nuclear bomb as an example, the noise would be the last part of that graph."

"Send your father a hug"

All eyes turned to Lunda, what happened could be considered an attempted attack.

"Don't blame the girl, that's just an old friend sending hugs"

"I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to, I'm sorry"

Lunda said in a tearful tone while holding his broken sword.

"Next time, don't overdo it when you borrow power from an angel"

Lunda blushed at my father's answer.

I will not allow this romance, even if it goes against direct orders.

"Dismissed all"

"Thank you, sir"

"We will solve the problem of your sword now Lunda"

And as soon as my father said it, Lunda blushed again, seriously, I won't allow it.
