Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

*•ARA's POV•*

Hello, I'm batman's little sister Batgirl... Sigh.

Yeah, I wish...

Don't mind me. No one ever does. After all, I'm just an omega.

My real name is Arabelle. People call me Ara for short and I'm an omega in the Moonlight Pack. I've been an omega since I was born. My parents died last two years due to old age and stress so it's just me and my best friend.

My pack—the Moonlight Pack is a small pack. My Alpha—Alpha Zachary—died two weeks ago, which finally allowed his rotten, bratty son to take his place. I hate that dude! I know I shouldn't be talking crap about my new Alpha but I can't help it. He is just too annoying. Ever since we were kids, he found delight in making fun of me. So what if I'm big? He never stops mocking me, calling me fat. And I hate his stupid twin sister even more. Jace and Macy are the most stupid people I've ever known but they are my leaders so I can never voice out my thoughts.

"Ara! Araaaaaa!!!" I've zoned out to the extent that I can seem to hear my hear being yelled until I felt a pinch on my arm.

"Ow!" I deadpan. I'm used to the pinches. In fact, I permitted my friends to pinch me whenever I zone out on people. I'm pretty sure I feel the sting but I'm immune to the pain itself. I'm actually immune to a lot of pain—mainly emotional and psychological pain.

"Araaaa! Can you please stop zoning out and listen to me?" The person whined. I rolled my eyes and turn around to look my best and only true friend in the eye.

"I'm listening. Tell me."

"Okay so you know how Jace-ass-poopy-face is getting his Alpha title after 2 years right?" I snickered at our name for Jace and scoff when she finishes her sentence.

"How can I forget, when that's had been the talk of the town for two years?" Jace was supposed to be alpha when he turned 18 but his irresponsibility and stupidity cost him his title for two years. His father refused to back down and hand over his title to either of his bozo kids. The neighboring packs had gossiped about the worthless Alpha heirs till Alpha Zachary died in his sleep two weeks ago.

"Well, I heard that Alpha Black is coming for the ceremony. How exciting is that?"

"Not really exciting."

"Ugh! You're such a party pooper! Alpha Black is the most handsome Alpha ever and he is single. Wouldn't you like for him to be your mate?"

"Get your head outta the clouds Cindy. An alpha can't be mates to an omega. It hasn't happened and it never will." I poke Cindy's head for emphasis. Cindy has always wanted to be mated to an alpha. I don't know why, but that's the only thing she thinks about. I only hope for her sake that she does find her mate, alpha or not.

I don't think I'll ever get a mate. Jace was right. I really am just a fat, ugly girl. Nothing special to look at. My shoulder length hair was cut by yours truly. I noticed that having long hair just gave people something more to hurt me with. Jace used to tug on my hair when we were younger so when I turned 16, I cut it short with a shard of glass I found. My mother was not pleased with my barbing skills but there was nothing she could do about it since it was too late to save the hair that I flushed down the toilet.

I can't say I'm white or black. I think light skinned or tanned would fit the description of my skin color. I have two dimples—which I totally dislike but Cindy says that they are cute. I also have hazel colored eyes—again, according to Cindy. I think my eyes are brown but Cindy thinks otherwise.

I don't know what I'd do without Cindy though. Cindy was a captive from a war between my pack and hers that occurred some years back. Her parents were the Beta and Beta Female so she doesn't have omega blood like I do. We became best friends when she came flying into my room, face first. I remember that day like it was yesterday. The war was over and captives were settling into the broken down homes— scratch that, they were getting dumped into the broken down homes, such as mine.

Poor Cindy, she looked so scared when the former Gamma dumped her in my home. She refused to talk to my parents. She just sat there and cried. I didn't understand what was happening then. All I understood was that the little red head—who I didn't know and had never seen before—was crying. I went up to her and tapped her. When she raised her tear strained face, I asked,

"Why are you cwying?" She sniffed and said,

"Somebody took my mommy and daddy away fwom me." I looked at my parents then answered,

"Don't wowwy! My mommy and daddy will be your mommy and daddy too okay!!

"Okieeee." She wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled for the first time.

Ever since then, she's been like a sister to me. We've been through thick and thin together. She always stood by me even when Jace used to bully me. I love her so much. She's the closest thing I have to family right now.

The Alpha ceremony is in a day and the pack house is dirtier than usual. I think Jace just threw a bachelor party of some sort called Almost The Alpha. I know... I think it's stupid too.

I work in the pack house as a cook. Honestly, I love cooking. It's the best thing in the world. The best feeling is when people eat your food and moan like they're having a foodgasm. It makes me so fulfilled. Give me anything with a recipe and I'll make it. I can't say I love my job though. Don't get me wrong, I love cooking but I don't love the people I cook for. Jace, Macy, and their friends are the most ungrateful and selfish people in the world. They make me feel like trash. They don't even treat my food with respect.

"Oh Ara! Next time, go easy on the salt." The food isn't even salty.

"Ara, I know you are fat and want to loose weight so you only eat tiny portions of food. This won't suffice! Add more food to my plate." The food ends up being wasted.

"Serve me like a King. Do you expect me to slice my own chicken?" Is your hand missing? Geez!

Oh Ara this and Oh Ara that! Do this, do that! How can they complain about the salt when I tasted the food and it's salted to perfection? Geez Louis!

Today is the preparation for tomorrow's ceremony. The guests are also arriving today so that means I have to cook for more snobby people. Jolly! While the preparations where going on, I was in the kitchen along with Mirabelle, Zoya, Lindsay, and Andria. These girls are like my sue chefs. They work under me basically. We are the pack house's cooks and I am in charge of them.

"Mira! Chop up these veggies and make the chicken curry."

"Zoya! Light up the fire for the barbecue and start grilling.

"Lind! Start baking those desserts already."

"Andy, you're working with me. Come along now." I barked out the working schedules to my sue chefs and we all got to work to prepare a befitting meal for the to-be-Alpha and his guests. Some hours later, the guests started arriving. A special guest arrived who would change my life forever.

"What's that wonderful smell? Mmmm! I can already taste the food just from smelling it."

"Drama queen!" Cindy was about to steal a piece of bacon when I smacked her hand away. I smacked her hand away and she jutted her lower lips at me, giving me the puppy dog eyes. She knew I couldn't resist her puppy dog eyes. I sighed and handed her a piece of bacon.

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" She hugged me and I laughed, hugging her back.

"All the alphas have arrived. Serve the food." The head Omega commanded. I quickly finished plating the food and headed out to the dining area with trays of food.

"Can I help with the food?" Cindy asked.

"Sure. Bring this tray along." Myself and my sue chefs, Cindy as well carried all the food to the dining area where five alphas where seated with their first and second in command. I placed the trays down and was about to leave when I saw something that made me freeze.

It can't be! He's here!
