Seeing how worried Vanessa had been over the thought of Sophia spending time alone with Tyler, Alex made a mental note to find a way to meet with Tyler later and to warn him not to try anything silly with Sophia.
Considering all the lies Sophia had told Tyler, and the fact that he didn't know about Vanessa's existence, it was safe to say that he was Sophia's guardian, and as such he had every right to be protective of her.
Alex turned to spare Vanessa a glance when he noticed how quiet she had been since they dropped off Sophia, and he was startled when he met Vanessa's piercing gaze.
"What?" Alex asked as he looked away guiltily while wondering why Vanessa suddenly seemed so intimidating.
"Are you both keeping something away from me?" Vanessa suspiciously asked as her eyes followed his every movement.
