Kyle chuckled as he returned to join Laurie in the sitting room, oblivious to the fact that she had eavesdropped on his call and the emotions it had stirred in her heart.
He pressed a kiss on her temple as he plonked down by her side. "What took you so long in the bathroom?" He asked as he looked her over. She was wearing his teeshirt, and he suspected she wasn't wearing anything else under it since he knew how much she hated wearing undies when she wasn't going anywhere.
"I didn't exactly waste your time since you were busy on the phone yourself," Laurie said defensively.
"Yeah. Sorry about that by the way, It was Alex." He apologized, pressing another kiss on her cheek.
"He finally returned your call?" She asked, since Kyle had complained on different occasions how he was trying to reach Alex all to no avail.
Kyle readily nodded with a smile, remembering the interesting and surprising conversation he just had with Alex.
