Alex's mind was in a muss as he tried to assimilate what the doctor had said, but no matter how he tried, none of it made sense to him.
'How could Vanessa be pregnant? How could she be 'three' months pregnant?!'
There had got to be a some mistake some where. He reasoned. The doctor could be mistaken.
He sat upright as he peered at the doctor with intent. "Are you sure she..she's pregnant?" Alex asked with a slight stutter.
His brows deeply knotted as he observed the man's face, but his heart skipped when the doctor gave a convincing nod as he replied, "Yes. She's three months pregnant."
Alex felt like he had been hit by something heavy, or worse thrown down a cliff he didn't know he had been standing. He couldn't really explain how he felt inside, but something was amidst inside him. He felt like he was submerged in water.
Maybe it was shock, but he couldn't comprehend it.
