Vanessa looked out the window as a failed attempt to avoid staring at Alex, who threw stole brief glances at her as she almost pressed her face against the window, with her eyes heavily focused outside as if she had discovered a gold mine underneath the tarred road.
He knew he had to say something, like an apology, or give some stupid reason to explain why he had kissed her — a reason which he didn't have.
Despite how hard he had thought about it, he couldn't come up with any good reason as to why he had kissed her last night and he really did not like the awkwardness between them right now.
"Did you say something?" He asked when he thought he had heard her voice, but seeing the puzzled look on her face as she turned to him, Alex realized that it was all in his head.
"Sorry. I thought you said something," He apologized and hurriedly fixed his gaze on the road, when her eyes didn't turn away from him like he wanted them to.
