The car was silent as they drove home with the food packs in the backseat. They both seemed preoccupied with their own thoughts.
While Alex was thinking about the phone call he had just received from his father, Vanessa was thinking about, her former classmate, Amanda, who she had met and the invite to the reunion.
Alex turned to spare her a glance when he noticed how quiet she was, "Is everything alright?" He asked, and Vanessa bobbed her head.
"Yeah. You?" She asked in return since she had also noticed the change in Alex's mood.
"I'm good. Who was that lady with you at the restaurant?" Alex asked curiously, since he had seen the lady walking away just when he was returning inside, but the lady did not see him.
He had briefly wondered if she was a creditor. Probably one of the people Vanessa was indebted to, but seeing how she had a smile on her face as she walked away from the table, he doubted that.
