In the world of Aeterna, every being possessed a kindred power that radiates into their bodies. This power is called 'mana' which is fundamental energy to create life. Mana is present in many forms, including the elements. Every living being in the world possesses mana.
Mana is a flexible energy, as it can manifest into an elemental force: fire, water, earth, air, and ice. However, not everyone could manipulate mana to their liking; one must have the innate ability to do this. People who are born with the capacity to manipulate the said power are called the "Praeditus". Praeditus can choose their own paths--to be sorcerers, to be researchers, and basically anything--including the dark path of Necromancy.
