Three morphed mutants approached Siegren; their bloodlust filling his senses as they panted heavily. Their nerves bulged as they aggressively rushed to charge.
The monsters' fist landed on Siegren, which he deflected with the ridge of his sword as he slashed one of their arms.
As more monsters approached Siegren, the cloaked Lumi disappeared from his sight.
The screams of the guards getting killed, as well as the growls of the monsters, lingered from the distance while the fight continues to plague the lands.
Black-purple ichor dripped from Siegren's greatsword. He then threw another monster to the ground.
However, there were still many of the undead approaching him. He glanced at the corpse above before he advanced to the statue, with his sword slashing at the ones coming on his way.
As the atrophied body of the infernopests slithered toward his legs, he was caught off guard, making the hoard of morphed mutants reach him. They swung their fist down, ready to kill—but Siegren simply glanced at their fist, his pupils glowed red, sending a wave of unprecedented force onto their bodies.
The morphed mutants were then sent flying athwart the vicinity. Siegren lifted his sword and then plunged it to the ground, killing the infernopest that attached itself to his legs.
He proceeded to amble his way in the middle of the Aclarian streets, carrying his greatsword.
The statue of the goddess is tall enough to reach the buildings that surrounded it. Siegren then sank the hilt of the soulless to the ground, creating a reverberating motion that traveled unto the statue of the goddess.
The ground below the swarming monsters cracked, then from those cracks, the soulless began absorbing the mana of those he killed.
Siegren closed his eyes as he held the grip of his sword, which was buried in the cobbled ground.
Black haze from corrupted mana enveloped the soulless' blade, which then traveled into Siegren's hands; as it entered his skin, the veins around his arm protruded.
Electrified mana was then induced from the depravity that was absorbed from the monsters that he has killed.
With eyes closed, Siegren transcended the material dimension and focused his mind on the Border. Under closed eyes, he could visualize the kind of energy of those within proximity.
'Siegren. Remember to use this power well,' said a voice in his head.
The voice of that old man.
The image of the old man sitting on his throne as he watched the humanity left inside of him be stripped away flashed in his mind.
His body pulsated from the familiar feeling of hatred and numbness fueling his body to move.
'You have to disregard all attachments to anything else. You are a weapon. Abandon all morality to attain your greatest strength!'
As Siegren opened his eyes, the morphed mutant's fist was already inches away from him. With grey eyes turning red, he lifted his greatsword at once.
He then channeled the concentrated purple electrified mana from his fist to the tip of his sword, before slashing it horizontally, sending the monsters in front of him to meet destruction.
Electrified explosions transpired from the path that the electrified slash has passed, creating a trail of ruin in its wake.
Voices.
He could hear them.
One was the old man's…
The other—
'Gather the lost numen of the fallen god, and you'll be free from this cursed life of yours.'
"I hope you're right," Siegren narrowed his eyes. "Uriel."
In a flash of lightning, Siegren disappeared from the spot in a second, and in that split second, the monsters dropped to the ground with black blood spluttering to the ground as his sword stayed mid-air.
"Ah…" Siegren looked up to the sky. "Just a bit more."
He then leaped to the statue of the goddess, stepping into the body of the morphed mutants and the monsters accumulated on the sculpture.
He then sheathed his sword and grabbed onto the scale of the goddess and climbed up above.
As he reached the peak of the statue, Siegren watched as the wraiths came to attack him. He then unsheathed his greatsword, grey eyes void of emotion set onto the corpse that hung into the purple sky.
With a slash of his sword, he killed the wraiths who continuously flew to attack him in groups. As they fell, he stepped onto their falling bodies, leaping onto the edifice next to the sculpture as he grabbed onto the rope of the garland that extended onto the other building.
The garland from the other edifice broke, making him hang tighter as it swung to one side of the building. As soon as his boots stepped onto the brick walls of the structure's exterior, he ran vertically as he used the rope for support.
Siegren immediately jumped towards the roof of the tower, with eyes roaming the skies as he searches for a way to get near the floating corpse of the saintess.
Then, he saw one of the large chains that were near the celestial tower from the distance.
"Gggraahh!" Siegren then turned around to kill the monstrous aura that appeared from behind—
However, his sword was stopped mid-air by an invisible force.
Then, he felt it.
That unknown aura he has sensed before!
Suddenly, with a flick of a finger, Siegren was sent flying to the roof. But he was able to thrust his blade to the ground and hold onto the grip, preventing his fall.
His grey eyes then saw a person standing by the celestial tower to disappear suddenly.
Then—
"Looking for me?"
Siegren's eyes widened as the roof of the structure cracked, then it burst, hitting him in the head.
The hilt of his sword detached from the broken roof, whose debris was now flying mid-air.
Blood trickled from the side of his head as his grey eyes saw a cloaked individual floating above him, but then he vanished—and in just a split second he appeared before him.
The man's palm then pushed his chest. Siegren's eyes widened as it sent a huge wave of force to his body, sending him plunging back to the ground.
