Stunned, Gavin and Asher looked at each other, signaling each other to quickly scan the surroundings. In an instant, Asher had pulled out his sword. Receiving a nod from the second prince, he began to check the bushes as Gavin himself turned to the traces left by the horses and the people that could have possibly gone there.
There were indeed people. Perhaps, bandits. But for some odd reason, the people responsible for their missing horses left a messy job. Gavin didn't know why but it felt as though it was left in that state on purpose.
Crouching down and inspecting the branch where they had tied the horses, Gavin frowned as he found an object lying nearby. He picked it up and stopped. Quickly enough, he realized it was a small pendant with the shape of a crescent moon. His heart began to pound loud at the sight, his eyes widening in utmost shock as he realized just who the person the item belonged to.
